Travelled from Tacoma WA to do some shopping at the outlet stores. When we were ready for a lunch break we looked at the local restaurants and saw the good reviews here, so we decided to try it out. When we were walking to our table, a booger, or probably some old food, that was stuck to the side of the glass caught my attention before we even sat down. I began to tease my daughter that it was her glass and not mine. But then when I looked at my plate, I also saw a booger on my plate. Wiped it with my finger and it smudged across the plate. My wife then noticed the same thing on her plate. We handed those items to the person that was still presently seating us. The person poured water in our remaining 3 glasses and in 1 glass there were several things floating in the water. I questioned if they were having problems with the dishwasher, and was given a response that "sometimes this happens", followed with a look that made me feel like I was complaining about nothing. I questioned if it was too much to ask for clean utensils, and still noticed a look as if I was trying to create a problem or just being difficult. After that, we collectively decided that we didnt want to attempt staying to have our food served on dirty dishes, and with a good possibility, end up eating the food that was previously served to someone else and was still remaining on the dishes along with our lunch. I have never posted a review before, but felt that I needed to so others wont be deceived by the 4+ star status. Maybe just a bad day for the cleanliness, but there seemed to be no sign from the staff that this was. I would have been ashamed to have to serve plate like this in my home let alone a public dinning facility. We wont be returning.

Upon walking into the restaurant, my initial impression was run-down pizza arcade with poorly painted murals on the walls. My experience declined from there. We had never been to this restaurant before and there are no signs as to whether you should seat yourself or wait. It wasnt busy and we waited for a few minutes as staff walked by, completely ignoring us. It wasnt until I asked one of the women working if we should find our own seat that we were finally acknowledged. The complementary bruschetta was pretty good, but the flies buzzing around and the cobwebs in the window were a bit unappealing. The caesar salad was pretty much limp lettuce with watered down dressing on it. It didnt even taste like caesar. The lobster ravioli I ordered tasted like they had been in the freezer too long, and the sauce on it tasted like nacho cheese mixed with Alfredo - not the best combo for lobster anything. My wifes jambalaya was as spicy as apple juice, the shrimp was overcooked, and the sauce was watery and lacking flavor. The bathrooms were dirty. The mirror looked like it hadnt been wiped down in a year and there were empty toilet paper rolls soaked in a mysterious substance rolling around on the floor. The food was overpriced and underwhelming and if you need a refill on any drinks you can pretty much forget about it. I dont know if the overwhelmingly positive reviews are reflective of how the restaurant normally is and we just caught them on a bad day or if theres something in the water thats caused the locals to lose their taste buds. Honestly, if youre thinking of going here maybe try the sushi place next door instead. They might be less disappointing.

At first, we felt awkward... There were not many tables occupied, but two of the three outside tables were. It was a warm night and before we even walked in the door the server greeted us and quickly walked us into the freezing cold restaurant and back into a corner. My girl and I wanted to sit outside as it was warmer and we wanted to enjoy our summer night. I didnt even have an opportunity to speak a word to her because she walked so far ahead of us and didnt make eye contact after she set our menus down. I instantly thought this place was a mistake. She came back with water and I asked her if we could please sit outside.. She told me that she would have to clean it and her attitude told me I was inconviencing her. She reluctantly went to clean the table and then asked us to grab our own place settings and follow her. We did, and I was apologizing to her as we went outside. Again, I wasnt sure we had made the right dinner choice... But then everything changed... Her attitude and she began to smile. From there on out our dining experience was amazing. The view, the drinks, the company and the interactions between the owner and his guests. And let me tell you ... The food... To die for! Everything was perfect, right down to the salad dressing. My girl and I like to go on adventures and they almost always involve food... Let me just tell you... This place has made it to our favorites list. We will be back. Thanks! The Keahis

We had been here a few times, and enjoyed the weeknight Dinner for Two. Its very reasonably priced, good food, and kitschy (in an endearing way) atmosphere. We decided to have our rehearsal dinner here, as we were getting married down the street at Edgefield. I cant say enough how EASY this was, as well as inexpensive. It was a big relief during the mayhem of an impending wedding to have everything go so smoothly, not break the bank, and we could just relax and enjoy the evening. Our party left very satisfied and very full. :) They were friendly and accommodating to a party of 20- we selected a handful of meal choices (which were printed out and placed on the table for each of our guests), a couple of appetizers, and several dessert choices. They kept the wine glasses full throughout the evening. We even got a visit from the owner Saul, to make sure we were enjoying the experience. I thought the food has always been great, and all of our guests said the same. I recommend heading to cute little downtown Troutdale for dinner any night of the week, and highly recommend it for large parties!

I would say this restaurant is eh at best. I was disappointed when I ordered the lasagna and it was literally swimming in sauce. Is seemed like a lot to pay for a small portion of lasagna that was drenched in sauce. Luckily it still tasted fine but I was hoping for more lasagna noodles, meat and ricotta cheese.I wasnt to impressed with what my boyfriend ordered either. He ordered the Parmesan chicken and said it was fine as well. I dont believe previous ratings when they said that this restaurant had a nice and calming atmosphere! The night we went it was far from it. First there were another group of people practically yelling at each other having a conversation; granted this isnt the restaurants fault but it defiantly wasnt relaxing. The part that bothered me was that the whole time we were there is sounded like they were throwing dishes into the dishwasher from across the room every couple seconds. Overall I cant say that was to impressed. I might try this restaurant again in hopes of a different outcome but I am leaning more towards no.
