I love the food at Panera, but Im frustrated by the service at the South Salem location. We live in the neighborhood and like to run down on weekend mornings to pick up bagels.....except they never seem to have an appropriate supply. If we come past 8am, were told they are already sold out and to come earlier. Really? Its 8am on a Saturday - it seems you need to adjust your supply if youre already out. If we come earlier, were told we can get bagels but other stuff is not yet ready. Its frustrating. I wouldnt say weve crossed it off our list entirely, but I have definitely lost confidence that we can have a satisfying experience. Such a bummer.

Among the newest of fast food chains to come to Salem is Panera Bread. Panera as a chain seems to follow the Chipotle style of fast food: Quality food prepared freshly at the time of order in an environment that is warm and inviting. This location, specifically, has a rather narrow and dark dining room "hallway" that opens to an airy sitting area at the front of the building with lots of seats, a couple benches and a gas fireplace, that Ive yet to see lit. I appreciate the knowlegable staff who can change up just about any order to suit your needs. Google Wallet/Apple Pay tap-to-pay is a plus.

We had to repeat ourselves a couple times, I think the espresso machines were pretty loud , but the order came out great and quickly, the coffee and dishes were lovely, and the atmosphere of the building was very nice. It was sort of an adventure to walk through, because I didnt expect it to be so big! It looks small from the outside, but its a deep cafe with a fireplace and a cute patio. I will come here again when I come back through town.

Almost every time that Ive ordered a pickup from here theyve forgotten something or just flat out gave me the wrong order. You would think that if you paid extra for something that they would try harder to make sure it was there. If youre willing and able to, just go to the one at Keizer Station. Never had an issue there and the service is amazingly better in comparison.

Good tasting food as ordered. The ordering process took forever, must be new staff. Its nice that they bring the food to your table for you now, but Id trade that for having them clean up. Its unpleasant to have to sort and stack your dirty dishes in bins full of other dirty dishes.

Great food, people say its to expensive but you get what you pay for. Its a comfortable place to sit and relax with a bowl of soup or a tasty sandwich or both. With dim lights and music playing down low you can enjoy the time spent here and unwind.

Pretty pricey for what they offer. Flavors great, but I honestly feel like they charge about double what they should on most everything. Also, if youre eating Paleo or Whole 30, dont expect a lot of options, even though they sell salads.

Have been here more then 20 plus times and the food is great. My only reason for the 4 stars is I wish they had more options for jelly for the kids PBJ. They only have grape jelly for their PBJ s and my kids are not big grape fans.

I been to Panera more than once and its 50/50 with the food. I have both loved it and hated it so for me, this place really depends on what you order. The kids meal was a joke. They did have our to go order ready fairly quickly.

Our delivery gal Dani was fantastic! One of our salads accidentally was delivered without chicken (still great without) and she brought in another with chicken. Great customer service. Food was delicious.

This is now one of my favorite places for a good meal. Prices arent terrible, and the options are abundant. I love the Chicken with White and Wild Rice, definitely one of the main reasons I go there.

It was a dank sandwich, however it was too expensive for how little you get. I literally only got half a sandwich and a cup of soup for 10 bucks, this is ridiculous.
