Go for drinks and pool only, WORST FOOD IN PORTLAND! I used to love this place... It was a great place to watch sports, play pool, have a good drink and WAS a hidden gem for good eats. So I decided to go last night, played some pool and decided to get some food... Went to the bar, had to wait like 10 min just to find out that they only were currently only offering like 5 items off the "happy hour" menu. I thought that was unusual from the "Rialto" I knew, but I am not unreasonable so I ordered some chicken wings. Without a doubt, the WORST CHICKEN WINGS I had ever tasted! It was basically bland fried chicken. The sauce was way to soupy to stay on the wings and halfway through the wings just jelling up in the paper lined basket, it looked nasty and the ranch was so watered down it barely had any flavor, AWFUL! I then decided maybe it was a fluke... So I decided to try something else from the menu. Next choice was lamb tacos. These were just as bad as the wings! Presentation was ugly and the texture and flavor (if there was one) was even worse. As soon as I bit into this thing it felt like I was eating old meat. It was so dry I thought it cut my mouth a couple times, it literally tasted like I was chewing flavorless wood chips. It was served flavorless tzatziki and watered down salsa Verde neither of which were good. The only thing that was good, was this pita style taco shell which was moist and fresh but probably purchased. The only reason they get even 2 stars is because of the good drinks and pool, otherwise this would have been a 1, subpar!

Ive typically liked this place and have come in fairly regularly. Then I met a friend there the other night and found out they are under new ownership. They appear to be operating like normal, so I order a drink and settle in to play some pool. Go to order food and...theyre not serving almost the entire menu (apparently the new ownership has not stocked their kitchen). WTF? Why be open and not operating the full restaurant side of your of your establishment? Why not have a sign on the door alerting guests or have your staff informing guests when they first order something? Do your (formerly) loyal customers a favor and get your act together or at least be open about the fact that youre running at half speed. Not a good sign for the place under new ownership.

Old school? Classic? This place was gutted of its quaint character, stripped of its glory, and got TGIFd in mauve. The real Rialto experience suffered death by makeover. The servers, cooks, original bartenders all disappeared; the food went from modest, affordable, and uniquely delicious to pretentious at a bad price. Used to be packed with interesting people, comfortable. Now very cold inside. You get sized up by greedy staff, eye rolled, and skulked by a few smirking sports bar types. 30 minutes and a mouthful of second-rate food later, my wife and I never went back again. Sad.

Not to friendly security at the front. Then ordered the nachos ... Never thought anyone could mess up nachos til now. The chips were burnt and so was the hamburger . When I asked the server that Id like to return it and have it credited to my bill, she was offended. Please... Take pride in the food you serve even if its just bar food. We are still customers and still deserve to be treated in a polite manner and served decent food. Wish I could post a pic of my burnt nachos and post it, you would return it too... The bright side, my Scooby Snack drink was good

Came here last week with few friends looking to play some pool, now if you looking to play pool this is a nice little place downtown. Close to max and other local food joints an bars, Quality pool tables and plenty of them! if i ever wanna play pool id come back here. Now on the other hand if you wanna enjoy a few drinks as well this probably isnt the place you want to check out, they are pricy. Customer service was ok considering i only counted 3 employes and thats counting the doorman and bartender. Other then that check it out for self!

Soon rising from the ashes, the Rialto will be back, better than ever! Due to a fire in the adjoining hotel, the bar is undergoing intense restoration and remodeling, but the basement bar will reopen as a jazz joint, the OTB will reopen by end of March, and soon the place will once again be my favorite date spot. (I buy my date a drink or two, and tell stories of the locals as they pass by the picture windows.) Welcome back, neighbors!

Nice pool room and sports bar but the hidden treasure lies beneath!!! U gotta check out the Hot new underground Jazz club... Its cool sexy with a SF or Chicago style vibe and the jazz... incredible, world class! I cant believe this is in Portland! Finally!! Defiantly Dont miss the Neo Soul live on Sundays.. Look out, this will put Portland music on the map in a major way...

Environment and bartenders amazing but serving staff is horrific with a sense of entitlement.. Too bad the serving staff is why no one wants to buy the history. Guess sub par servers is an expectation now a days. This place is closing 96 years of history gone. Servers dont help sell the experience. So time for a modern day industrialization.

Aaron and Barry refused entry to 6 Canadians tonight because we appeared to be under 26 and they refused our Canadian drivers licenses. These winners did not ask for a secondary id such as a passport (which we had) but out right refused entry. So Canadians be aware if going to this "bar" in the evening.

Great atmosphere, especially the underground bar, we got there right when it opened and basically had it to ourselves! Felt like celebrities! The pizza was very good for a bar and the drinks were reasonably priced. Also not crowded for St. Patricks day. Overall great place!

Went with a friend to Rialto Cafe (Alder Entrance) for lunch and had the special, surf and turf. Delicious steak and shrimp for the right price ($9). I also had their massive onion rings which were also great. If Im in the area I am so returning.

Great service...needs more employees. 1 server for 30 plus people is ridiculous. Manager needs to take into consideration for big sports events or the fact that downtown is packed for the rose festival. Too bad u lost out on good business.

I actually like the Rialto. They have cheap beer and decent pinball and I enjoy playing pool for 30 minutes before it gets really boring because I suck at it. Its full of strange people and is way bigger and nicer than it should be.

The service was horrendous. The wait staff obviously had more important things to do tonight. I waited ten minutes to get a menu. The waitress never returned. I finally left after waiting another ten minutes. Ridiculous.

The food here is awesome. Like, next-level pub food. The Reuben was the bomb, and the burger they made for Burger Week 2015 was ridiculously amazing. Didnt play any pool, but they have a whole bunch of tables on hand.
