One of the best if not the best places for Chinese food in the metro area. I am partial to Chinese and Thia food (mostly on the West side) but I keep coming back here. The food is great and the service is outstanding. It is easy to find and get to, plenty of parking and I would say, reasonably priced. I dont think I have ever had to wait for a table yet there is a continuous flow of customers. General Tsao is my favorites there, but their lemon chicken and lemon shrimp are up there also (although sometimes the lemon sauce can get a bit much.) They can go as adventurous as you want to go, especially in seafood. They can also go hot (but I have more of a medium type of taste.) Their soups are very good. The owner, Bruce, will give you individual attention and the speed of the appearance of food after ordering is often surprising. There is also a bar and I believe video poker in the back, but I prefer the view of BH Highway in the family section in front. Not a very big place, but just good. I have never been disappointed here.

One of the best things about the place is how the owner Bruce personally connects with you and is always the showman. Food is on the whole what you want from Chinese food. It rarely deviates in quality though there are some dishes I can do without. For me the must have is the sesame beef. The flavor and the way they cook the meat drives me crazy. Additionally both the chow mein and pork fried rice are the best we have encountered in the city. Sweet and Sour chicken suffers from being breaded to much and coming out soggy but the sauce which is complimented by green peppers almost convinced me otherwise. Also the "original pizza" is nothing but a fry bread with chives in it. Not at all what I expected or would want. Water is great with a very strong flavor of lemon in it and is cold. If there can be a best water in the city this would be it. Food is priced very reasonably and there is always plenty of seating which is generally DIY.

I have been a constant customer for years. Many times before I have ordered seafood soup and enjoyed each bowl. However, in my last visit the serving tasted very unpleasant. I quietly made a comment to the waitress and she proceeded to take it back to the kitchen. I was expecting either a new serving or the option for something else. Instead I received an angry owner cursing at me calling me a homeless beggar out to get free food. He then proceeded to shout at me as he demanded I leave his establishment. This embarrassed me in front of the other customers beyond anything I had ever experienced before. What was a minor issue, became a HUGE scene. I offered to pay for my beverage, but only to be called more names I care not to mention. If you decide to visit this establishment, be happy with what you get, as the customer does not have the right to complain here without being chastised for wanting something edible.

Hands down, the BEST Chinese food in Portland. The BEST Chinese food I have ever had. A Chinese food LOVER, Ive been going to China Delight since it opened in 1996. The owner, Bruce, is a class act, and funny as he11. We call it "Bruces" too! No MSG, fresh, delicious ingredients. Honey walnut chicken - my favorite. Yummy General Tsaos. Szechuan pepper chicken - so good and I dont like spicy, my mouth waters for the BBQ pork, Eggplant in a clay pot is divine. Ridiculously tasty fried rice. The broccoli sides are delish! Really anything you like, Bruce will make it better than youve ever had. Dont believe any negative reviews - probably from sub-par Chinese food places who will never be able to compete. Bruce is legit. Veronica Gilbert

The menu on the website prices were lower then the actual price. We had a $28 dollar bill and gave a $5 cash tip. Came home checked my bank account and was $7 dollars higher then the bill I signed. Lucky for them I lost my receipt. The pepper salted squid was raw and soggy. The sesame beef had no flavor. Lemon was placed in the water. Everyone doesnt like lemon in water. The place is outdated. Hanging different types of currencies makes the place look tacky. They belong in a vault at home or at the bank. People say this restaurant is good because they havent tried any where else. This place is not authentic Chinese food. Panda Express outdoes this restaurant. Never again will I take my family nor recommend to anyone.

Authentic flavors blended nicely with American palletized selections of food. I would definitely recommend this place. We were disappointed last time with our local place so went about five minutes out of the way to China delight. Food order to go was just brought out when I arrived to pick it up, and I was pleased with the weight of the bag. Our food was accurate and tasty, and hot when we got home (10 min). Seems like the dining room would be comfortable to eat in, and the staff was super friendly. The prices are higher than on Google menu, but only by a couple dollars here and there. Remember, prices are always subject to change.

Ive been going here for years. I just looked up the address for a friend and got curious about the reviews and was surprised at the (admittedly few) negative comments. My perspective: I have never known the owner to be anything other than hospitable to the maximum. The food is excellent and always served fresh on the table. I have never in all the years I have been going there ever seen rudeness on the part of any of the staff toward any customer and dont think that the owner would tolerate it. The pork shoulder melts in your mouth. The vegetables are sometimes from the owners garden. Very fresh, very tasty. YUM. Just sayin

Ive been to China Delight for both dinner and breakfast numerous times. The Chinese food that Ive had has been excellent. I recommend Hunan Beef in particular. At breakfast time they cover up their outdoor signage with a banner that says "American Breakfast", so dont miss out because youre looking for their normal signage. Their stuffed hash browns are to die for. Seriously. Good. Staff is friendly and the owner is likely to greet you at the door by shouting "Welcome Home!" Ill keep coming back.

"Welcome home!" Youll hear the greeter/owner welcome you that way the moment you walk into the restaurant and continue to make you feel at home when he takes your order and delivers the check to your 6-year-old son. The chicken is all white meat, tender, delicious. The sauces are fantastic. Ive been thoroughly disappointed in every other Chinese restaurant Ive tried in the Portland metro area, but this place has a hold on me. I keep coming back, and my kids LOVE it.

I have ate here several times and the food has been pretty good. General Tao chicken and Kung Pao were good, I also tried the Szechuan chicken. My only complaint would be last time I went I got the house chow mein which includes chicken, pork and shrimp and I only got ONE piece of shrimp out of the whole carton of food. Other than that food is not too bad. I would recommend but I would definitely tell them not to shortchange you on your shrimp!
