Okay, used to be 5 stars. Had to drop one ms almost dropped two (down to 3). Used to LOVE this place and sent EVERYONE here if they were in town visiting. However.... ....I may be wrong (and I truly hope I am), but the last three times Ive been here the food has taken a serious downturn. Dont get me wrong, its still good, but a wedge salad shouldnt just be a half wedge of iceberg lettuce - especially when advertised as more. Last three times I ordered this (again, hoping it was just a single occurrence) I got the lettuce but thats about it. The bacon crumbles likely equate to about ¼ strip of bacon, the onion is about 3 small rings (no, not slices...just single rings) and four halves of cherry tomatoes (yes, for those doing the math that means just two cherry tomatoes). Im going to keep trying simply because I loved this place and really hope it doesnt continue the slide in an effort to save a few dimes here and there. Ill edit this if things get better. Heres to hoping.... Oh, the beer is still AWESOME. (Duh) Edit: As promised..... Ive tried the salad four more times since those issues (among other meals) and Im going to place my rating back at 5 stars. Doubt theyve adjusted anything based on a simple review, but it sure seems as if they did. The salad is awesome (so were the other meals). Yes, the beer is STILL awesome. Oh, and there are some great servers there as well, always wearing a smile. And if you visit more than once dont be surprised if they recognize you and greet you more like a friend than a customer.

Hard to find in an industrial area with a lack of signage sits abv. Attached to a homebrew supply store, abv is a restaurant/bottle shop/beer bar with flat screen tv beer menus, tons of hard to find bottles, and an outstanding and creative bar menu. Sandwiches, burgers, pizza and salads available. My burger was cooked perfectly to order, bun was soft and chewy, burger had a nice char while still being buttery soft inside, and a generous offering of shoestring fries. My father had a scratch made veggie burger which he said had a perfect flavor and might be the best veggie burger he had ever had (35 yr vegetarian). I had a session mead on tap, my dad had a scottish beer, both great. They stock a great selection of cider, and have at least 5 taps of other than beer drinks. Theres something for everyone. Their taplist is online, so bring and use your tablet/smartphone to look at the table. Staff was attentive and very excited about the restaurant. The guys at the supply store attached to the restaurant were super chill and fun to talk to while waiting for our food. The table next to us was equally as thrilled with their pepperoni pizza which looked fantastic. We grabbed some bottles to go. They charge a 1.50 bottle fee to drink a bottle at the restaurant, so id just take them to go and drink the draft offerings. I would love to see what this chef can do with chicken wings on the menu...with a few sauces to pick from. This place is solid, and wont be undiscovered for long..beer fans, burger fans...yes.

If we were rating beer selection alone, of course itd be 5 stars! Id even give the menu options a 5, too. We visit here frequently for our growler fills and to check out new brews. However the food has been a disappointment :( which really sucks because it looks AMAZING. On our last visit I splurged and paid the $4 for pork belly on the gnocchi Mac and cheese... The cheese sauce I recognized from the pretzel dip, which turned me off for some reason. But the main disappointment here was the overcooked, dry, pork belly meat! I split this with my other half as well as with the elk burger. Also sounds amazing, right? But the ordered medium rare meat arrived also overdone... Very overdone. I, as well as my other half, agreed that it wasnt elk meat Or at least didnt taste like it. Elk has that distinct gamey elk flavor that I look forward to in elk and it just tasted like crappy beef?? Not sure if that was in error or a "blend" is being used. Another turn off.. We werent aware of a specials menu until we saw it on the hostess table on the way out. A bone marrow dish was featured on the top! We love the intriguing menu ideas but feel they are not backed up by the talent or quality product to produce them. We will keep our optimism though!

I just stopped at ABV with a friend for a drink over the New Years holiday. They have 30+ taps, and a good variety pouring from those taps. They also have what looked to me like a very extensive bottle shop, so youve got access to pretty much whatever your heart desires. They service was very good and quick. They also serve food, but I didnt order. My friend and I had just finished a meal, and wanted a drink so she suggest ABV. The place is pretty good sized, but it is just one big large space with a bar, tables and a high ceiling. It was fun, but it was also packed and noisy. The location is in what I would call an industrial strip mall, and youve got to sort a navigate your way around the area to find it. But, once you do find it there is ample parking. It isnt you typical tap room and it certainly isnt in your typical location, but it is worth a visit if youd like to find some unique craft beers.

Ive been a customer of Main Brew for a while now and decided to take some friends out for dinner. The food was amazing and we will be back for more. This has five star potential if the wait staff were more attentive. I prefer European customer service, where you arent constantly pestered. This was similar, except it was difficult trying to get the attention of our server. They were busy standing around a barrel, socializing. We ended up having to find our own boxes for our leftovers. This was on a Sunday and the place was half, to two thirds full. I loved the selection of the fermented beverages, as well as the smart kegs. Nice to watch the keg go down online as you order your beer. The Beeramisu was heavenly. The cheese curds were to die for, and the 50/50 burger was amazing. Im glad its hidden away and on the west side. Its nice not to have to drive to Portland for an amazing place.

I have been a long time patron of Mainbrew and was very excited when they decided to open the restaurant. We have been to the restaurant several times now and have had an excellent experience every time. The service has been excellent, the food is amazing- we have ordered from the main menu, the happy hour menu, etc. - the food is quality and comes in a timely fashion, even when the place is very busy! Of course, the 32 rotating taps are awesome and having the digital pour so you know if somethings running low is a great amenity. You just cant go wrong eating here! With a young child (18months), its hard to find a decent place that also takes good care of the kids. And they do. It certainly has a family atmosphere despite it being known for beer! We highly recommend ABV. Where else on the West Side can you get a great meal, good beer, and then take home a growler? Its worth the trip!!
