I work out in Gresham almost 40 hours a week and am always on the hunt for places to satiate my cravings for cuisines that are not in my usual restaurant rotation. When I found El Inka I was stoked because Ive heard great things about this place and it was literally two minutes from my work. I walk in and am the only person in the restaurant. I find a sweet woman eating the chicken herself and she seats me promptly. Gives me suggestions based on what I was feeling that day and the dish came out just as expected. I got the roast chicken with a side of stir fried noodles tossed with tomatoes and other various veggies. The roast chicken was delicious, but to my dismay was nothing more than that (nothing wrong with that, as a roast chicken is a gift from above). What I loved almost more were the three sauces. Bright in color and each ones flavors spicy, fresh, and distinguished. Ill be back for sure!

I have been to El Inka twice, most recently in early November 2012. Its specialty is roasted chicken, about which my dining-mates rave. I am a vegetarian, so I was skeptical at first. I realize now that Peru unfairly got the worlds best native non-meat foods: corn, squash, quinioa, potatoes, etc. The restaurant has many vegetarian and vegan options that celebrate these native foods. After thousands of years preparing them, apparently Peruvians know what they are doing. I literally could eat a vat of the creamy quinioa. The owner/server is very friendly and warm and willing to guide customers through the menu. I would have rated the decor both "poor" and "excellent." The ambiance is sort of hole-in-the-wall/roadside stand. Its "excellent," because its unpretentious and one feels like one has discovered a great place. Its "poor" because its like a roadside stand.

I am generally not a fan of chicken. However, on a bike trip back into the city from Oxbow Park with four other people desperately hungry after miles of cycling, I remembered wanting to check this place out as we were swinging through Gresham. The roast chicken here is unlike anything else. It is moist and fall-off-the-bone tender, the skin is crisp, the seasonings are perfect, and the sauces are spot on. The fried plantains with mango sauce are to die for, and surprisingly, they had a decent selection of vegetarian items on the menu as well. The place is quaint and homey, and the people are very friendly. The only thing that would make this place better is a beer selection, but Ill just have to be satisfied with take-out until then.

No place can compare to traditional, homey Peruvian food more than El Inka. As a Peruvian, its with absolute certainty that this is real and authentic as Peruvian food gets. I visit Oregon often and finally, after two years I can say Ive found what Ive been looking for. The other very few Peruvian restaurants around the area just dont have the same taste and feel. Yes, the place is small and yes, the service is slow. But when you have mom cooking the food (literally) its no doubt the wait is worth it. Please be patient and you will be rewarded with a delicious meal from El Inka. I had such a great experience and Ill definitely be coming back for more! And please please please try their Lomo Saltado, absolutely mouth watering!

My Overall thoughts of El Inka. Getting their for lunch or an early dinner is ideal. if you come at 6pm on a Saturday, you will be waiting quite a while, as this place fills up very quickly. The food in 2 years is still excellent, and the family who runs it is still wonderful to deal with. This is the only restaurant that I do not mind that they do not serve any type of alcohol. If you want to try something new, affordable, or just want a real ethnic flavor, then you need to check this place out. You will not be disappointed.

Ive been coming to El Inka for years and it has been consistently great. The rotisserie chicken is tasty (especially with liberal squirts of the yellow and green sauces all over the chicken and fries), but the rest of the menu is great too. The ceviche is awesome, but whats even better is the dish thats just all of the ceviche seafood fried crisp and topped with lime juice and red onions. The employees (family?) that work there are kind and helpful, but dont expect fast or frills

Have been here twice, both times had the chicken. First time was juicy mouthwatering chicken, second time was what I would consider "off hours" and the chicken was dry and over done. I will excuse the second visit as poor timing on my part . The flavor on both visits was excellent, I also enjoyed the different sauces that were served. I wish there was options for the sides other than french fries, I also wish they served beer and wine. Will return.

A Gresham gem! This family owned restaurant serves up some rich and delicious dishes. We always try to pick a new item to try. The owner and his family are friendly, service is quick and the food is wonderful. Simple and prices arent bad. We love their rotisserie chicken and their lamb stew. I really love their home made bottled sauces. The green which reminds me of mint and the yellow is like garlic aioli yummy!

El Inka has delicious roast chicken. It is juicy and spiced nicely. I love the sauces. I dont know the names but the creamy yellow and the green are wonderful. The fries are amazing. Inca cola is good, it tastes like slightly tart cream soda. My son had the breaded chicken breast and loved it. We have tried two of the desserts, the rice pudding is good and the baked milk is basically flan and amazing.

We used to goto this place every other week. Tonight we brought some ceviche home and it had a ball of hair in it. Not one, two, or ten hairs, but a BALL of hair. We will not be going back because this place is apparently it is a dirty place. Sucks too, cause their ceviche is usually tasty.

If youre not ordering the roasted chicken my condolences...everything else SUCKS! I got frozen peas and carrots poorly cooked badly presented and with no grace or care after a really long wait. My whole family of 6 will never return due to horrible service and really crappy food.

This is our little jewel in Gresham. A locally owned place by people who really care about what they do. We enjoy trying the variety of food and everything has been wonderful. Recommended for those with a palate for foods with a vibrant taste to them.

The food here is amazing, and the staff is very friendly. I dont think Ive had anything here I didnt like. They have tasty little desserts, so you dont feel too bad tacking one onto the end of the meal.

This food is truly authentic and bien rico ( really delicious ). Been going to this little gem for several years. You can always tell whether a place is good when other Peruvians frequent it.
