Most rude staff anywhere. This coffee shop staff seems to be at war with their customers. Theres no such thing as kitchen errors or poor service -- only bad customers. The signs described below tell the story. Customers are there to serve the staff, whos claim to fame is their prestigious job as "baristas." My bad experience with ordering a bagel must be science -- it repeated itself. First time, I ordered a bagel then 15 minutes later walked up to the counter to see what had happened. Annoyed bordering on angry - from the lines of his face -- the baristo got a bagel out, put it in an oven and told me he would bring it to my table. That eventually happened. Second time, I ordered a bagel with jelly. "Thats a bagel with cream cheese and butter" the cashier/server repeated back to me. Jelly, I reminded him. A while later, a bagel reheated to baking temperatures arrived at my table. With cream cheese. The server walked away before waiting to see if he got it right. I walked up to the counter and told the server/cashier I was asking now for the third time to have jelly with my bagel. Again, I was met with an angry face. He assured me the other guy, in the kitchen, was preparing my jelly. I waited. The supposed server/cook who was visible around the corner walked out a couple minutes later with a sandwich in hand, serving it to someones table. I again asked the server/cashier about my jelly and he said, now very annoyed, "hes working on it." "This isnt McDonalds" he said. "We dont prepackage things." Thats their reason why it takes them 20 minutes to prepare a bagel and jelly. I reminded the kitchen/counter staff my heated bagel was cooling while they went about the tedious job of packaging an ounce of jelly, on top of the other very difficult sandwich-prep jobs theyd undertaken. He offered to reheat the now-stale bagel again, disputing my count of three times the bread would then have been cooked. The two servers/cashiers/kitchen-hands looked at each other as I tried to explain all I wanted was a bagel and jelly. "I dont know what hes talking about" one said to the other while I spoke. "Crazy person," the cashier announced to the room as I walked back to my table to continue waiting. Seriously, the guy openly insulted me in front of other customers. When I asked for an apology, one of the server/waiter/cook/cashiers said "If youre not happy, just tell us." Odd. I thought thats what I did, though I didnt talk about my hedonic state, I asked about my food. Their response indicated anything but willingness to understand and meet my expectation for fresh food delivered to my table at approximately the same time as the condiments served along with the hot food. Ive ordered other pastries from this place. The staff systematically races to the microwave or the oven with every pastry, muffin, brownie or bagel Ive ordered, whether I asked for a heated pastry or not. When I ask for it at room temperature, theyve systematically resisted, looking at me as if I am interrupting their busy day. The reheating process requires interaction with a difficult staff, heats the food to temperatures that damage the baked goods. But dont ask them not to heat it. Knowing their difficult time understanding simple orders, I once repeated "NOT heated. NOT heated." When I called out ten seconds later to the server/cashier whose back was by then turned away to stuff it in the microwave, she looked at me annoyed and said "I thought you said heated." Otherwise, the food here can be weird. A turkey sandwich is a "dirty bird" served with apple slices between the bread. Hmmm. Breakfast "cookies" are unpalatable, dry balls of something. What this place has is apparently a culture where a few regulars know each other, most customers avoid interacting with staff and staff acts condescending toward anyone who disrupts their thought processes. Its okay for a restaurant to do business like this because we can just go somewhere else, but its unfortunate that our community has such behavior as a standard.

The first thing I loved about this place is the front door. Its super hidden which keeps the riff raff out. Genius! Being vegetarian, I immediately gravitated towards the veggie bagel written clearly on the menu. When my turn came to order, the barista politely informed me that they were only serving "breakfast items". Being sympathetic to my lack of knowledge of breakfast items and caffeine at nine in the morning, he swiftly directed me to the glass case containing the baked goods. "Do you see any bagels in here? Because I dont see any bagels." he said in bewilderment. So I just ordered two black coffees. They promptly fulfilled my order and I turned around only to discover the entrance/exit to be even more elusive than when I arrived. Being in this coffee shop is like walking on to the set of my favorite movie, Labyrinth. The walls look like doors and people seem to come and go from every direction, but I couldnt. The encouraging stare from all of the patrons gave me the strength to find my way out. What a magical experience! Wish I could give it six stars!

I was very happy with the breakfast sandwich the fried egg sandwich on a croissant but ordered a mini cake and even though they said it was made the night before it was rock hard very disappointing. Very surprising but a sugar cookie it was all so hard I dont feel like Bakery as their strong suit. Although they did give me a gift card when I spoke of how unhappy I was you can bet Ill be spending it on a breakfast item. They gave me a credit which I used a month later they were incredibly nice and generous as to the amount they credited me. Of course I used it on food and their food is incredible. This place makes you want to stay here all day long if so comfortable and welcoming and simply a beautiful place. I do feel like they may be working on correcting their recipe because I did not see any of the mini cakes in their display window. I truly hope they work that out because theyre desserts & Bakery are beautiful they just made a noise recipe that has more flavor in the batter. I will definitely come back here again and again

I love this place, I come here every time I am in Tulsa, whether I am working or just relaxing the atmosphere is great. I am not a coffee snob but take this for what you will. The drip coffee is almost impossible to drink. I come in and get a sandwich and coffee, $12 which wouldn’t be bad if I liked the coffee and the sandwich was good. The “hot” sandwiches made in the Panini maker are warm on the outside and cold in the middle, a little weird if you ask me, maybe the grill is too hot. Sub-par food for the price, although I had the potato soup and it was some of the best I have ever had, including my MOM’s, that is high praise. I would love to see more attention made to the quality of food. The contents are all high quality but the end product is lacking. You ask what keeps me coming back, the internet, staff and atmosphere, not to mention the potato soup!. 3 stars, make the food better and it would be 5 stars

If you are a masochist, a flagellent, or the partner of an abuser, you will feel right at home at CHOCS. The staff there is honestly the rudest Ive ever encountered. And its not just one person, its all of them. As you approach the register, prepare to stand there unnoticed for quite some time as the yuppy zombies from hell wander around behind the counter trying not to make eye contact in hopes that youll go away. If you persist, they will take your order as if it were the greatest possible inconvenience. By the time you get your food, even if you are a kind and even-keeled person, chances are that you will be inwardly raging. Sadly, the food and drinks are great. Its just that in exchange for good food, the staff thinks they can treat you like a sub-human. I would hope that most of you have better things to do with your time than allow these ungrateful pricks to treat you poorly.
