Me and my 4 kids (3 girls, twins 9, and oldest 11 and a boy, 1 yr. old: 2 months away from 2 yrs.) were eating there just yesterday (7/31/16) and my youngest was crying... apparently they do not like that. 1) would you want others telling you how to raise your child. 2) 1 yr old will cry out of nothing. 3) I raise my kids not to baby them. 4) they were more loud talking and laughing in Chinese or mandarin. I dont care that they talk in different language... but I hear them all the way from the teller area. as soon as the lady says I was just eating and not taking care of my child... I got furious with silence and got out of there as soon as possible. I baby my child when warranted (i.e. accident, booboo, etc.) to that lady that was telling me how to raise my child... mind your business on how to raise my child. do you know my child better than I do? how do you like it if I tell you how to raise your child? me and my wife have taking care of 3 girls no problem and they are more behave than most kids Ive met... another child (older than my boy... id say about 3 or 4) from someone eating he was bawling his eyes out and more loud than my boy. frankly... mind your asinine business attitude. as long as they are not being abuse. get the back off. btw... I told them we are never going back... and weve been going there since we moved here in broken arrow in 2008 long before they were called Shanghai Ave. they lost my business... my side of the family (me and my siblings) are part Chinese. we eat a lot of Chinese. I speak other languages as well. but out of curtesy at other people... I do not speak them in public with my kids. I will rather spend more in other places than go back to this place.

Im not sure what people expect when they come to a Chinese buffet, but its certainly not for the service. How much service do you need? All I need is for them to point me to my table, and bring me a drink...Ill take it from there. Both of these requirements, theyve always handled just fine. The food is consistently some of the freshest and best tasting Chinese buffet in town with frequent "refreshes" of low items. Selection is very large, and includes pretty much all the standard items youd expect, including shrimp prepared a few ways (no extra charge, as mentioned in a previous review). My personal favorite is their Honey Chicken, which is excellent. My palate may not be as sophisticated as some reviewers here, but if any dishes are bland, its due to your selection, as there are many flavorful choices available. They arent all covered in sauces, either, as there are plenty of "plain" items to choose from as well. The building and decor are nothing particularly special. But, although lacking in any real ambiance to speak of, the restaurant has always appeared clean/neat. Maybe Im just low maintenance, or maybe I dont have unrealistic expectations for a ~$10 a person buffet, but I havent had a bad experience there in the many times Ive visited over the past couple of years. Id would highly recommend Shanghai Ave. to anyone hungry for lots of tasty Chinese food at a decent price.

Food is always decent and the wait staff is tentative to my/our needs. I cant say that they stand out from the crowd, when compared to most other chinese buffets. I will note that I appreciate the cleanliness. Today while I was in for lunch, 2:30-3:00ish it was slower and I witness some staff wiping down tables and chairs thoroughly. Overall, I have returned to this establishment occasionally for lunch. I would label my visits infrequent.

We absolutely love this place! My husband and I take our 4 year old here whenever we get the chance, because the staff is so friendly! The food is absolutely amazing, with way more variety than some of the other local Chinese buffets. They even have chicken curry, which I LOVE! I would highly recommend this place to all my friends and family.

the food id good unless you come in between mealtimes then it seems like not much attention is paid to the buffet tables... the staff is nice when you first walk in and get seated but they have a tendency to forget about you and dont come around very often... have had to get up and go get my refills myself more than a few times

I use to come here all the time never had a problem but now that i move to tulsa. I rarely go unless i really want chinese about couple weeks ago me & my dad went during lunch when we got the bill he said we came during lunch but then they said you had shrimp. They charge for shrimp. They need to put a sign up

My husband and I ate lunch there today.a coworker of his was there as well.after we left his coworker sent him a text saying the lady behind him found a roach in her food.she told the people working and they made no attempt to even change the pan the dish was in.needless to say we will never eat there again!

Our first time at Shanghai Buffet. We were impressed by the selection offered and the cleanliness of the restaurant. The whole time we were eating there was a lady cleaning, she cleaned every table, chair including legs and back and every booth. The food was tasty and the service was friendly!

Mediocre at best. Service was ok but the food leaves a lot to be desired. Unfortunately when buffets offer so many options they have to make cuts somewhere....food quality. If you want good Chinese, find somewhere that makes food to order, there are plenty available.

Always a good selection. Fresh and consistent. Tuesdays kids eat free. I dont see why someone would rate this place lower than a 3 for sure.. unless they dont like Chinese buffets, in which case, they shouldnt complain. Im always happy with the service and food.

Personally, I LOVE the food here. The service is slow, and I notice that the staff seems to be too busy talking to each other to do their jobs, but the food completely makes up for it in my opinion. Definitely my favorite buffet (food-wise) in Broken Arrow.

Overall low food quality and the service was not prompt in any way. All the food is drenched in sauces and the waitresses barely understand enough English to get you a drink. Would not recommend to anybody

Ive got an 11 yr old thats pretty hard to please on food and she loved it! She even begged to eat there again the next day before we left town to go back home. I would definitely recommend this place.

Decent Chinese buffet in Broken Arrow. Nothing fancy, the food quality is good. Like to stop here when Im in this part of town and want Chinese. Only drawback is they dont have sushi.

This place isnt much to look at on the outside, but the good is hot and fresh and I can never just eat one plate. Amazing food. Great prices. Totally worth the trip.

Food is pretty ugh, asside from their speciality foods. Service is pretty good though. But hey, what do you want from an all you can eat Chinese buffet.
