I grew up in Michigan, so when I moved down to Dayton years ago with my wife, it was nice to know there was a Meijer right down the street. This store just recently received a huge makeover and now is very nice and clean. The aisles are nice and wide for those busy days and all the shelves are stocked well (except for Nickles Italian bread for some reason). The restrooms in the back of the store are disappointing with only one stall in the mens. I am very happy they now have a drive up prescription window. They also offer curbside service now for elderly and disabled. Plenty of check out lanes always open so you shouldnt have a wait there either. This location also has a gas station, though as of late, they have not been any cheaper than Coscto down the street - which ALWAYS has the cheapest gas around. NOT a fair judgement though, as you need a membership to get gas there.

I HOPE YOU LIKE BAGGING YOUR OWN GROCERIES! This Meijer is constantly having issues. Sometimes its terrible produce, sometimes its random items that just never get restocked. Lately the issue is that if you go in the late evening there is only ONE lane open with a cashier to check you out. On my most recent visit, there were ZERO checkout lanes open. Thats right, my only option was to scan and bag my own large cart of groceries. There was at least one lane open when I came in. If I had known there would be zero by the time I was done with my huge shopping trip I would have just left. Still, on the bright side, this was the push I needed to finally make the switch permanently to Kroger. They seem to actually care about helping their customers. Meijer seems focused on saving as much money on paying cashiers as possible, which means their customers have to do all the work.

I liked this place a little better than Walmart. I was only upset when one day I went in there with my Service Dog and the lady was demanding me to leave or show her documentation. By law, Title III of ADA states I not required to show the information and do not have to explain to them about my disabilities. I may not be blind or looks like a so called "typical" disabled person, but that does not mean you should treat me with such disrespect. Also, by law they cannot tell me to leave the store unless my Service Animal is out of control and cannot be handles. Last, they do not have a sign stating that animals are not allow, not like that would matter in my case. Oh, and that girl with the big eye brows that are drawn on at the front door is really nice. Just wish she didnt draw them brows so big.

Horrible service! I waited at least one minute between the prior shopper. He mumbled something. I was never even greeted or acknowledged. I put one 12 pack of soda on the belt and told this young male cashier I had 2 more in the cart. At the end of the transaction, I said yes to cash back and I pressed the button. He said "oops" I thought you said no. Then, he saw my other 2 12-packs in the cart, after he gave me a total. As he walked around to scan them, I reminded him that I had told him that I had 2 more. He said, "I forgot". I told him that he is too young to forget!!! Never thanked me for shopping Meijer or even to have a nice day! This young man is a poor example of customer service!!

Worst customer service. Every time a policy or procedure comes up not one employee has knowledge of the procedure. If you need to know something googling it doesnt help b/c apparently they do things differently. I shop there on average 3 times a week and can count on one hand the number of times someone has been kind or courteous. Just today I literally had an employee rolling her eyes at me and turned her back to me the whole time I was standing there. I will say this though, Brian at the pharmacy is AMAZING and makes you smile every thyme you see him. If only Meijer would recognize that and use that to train the others.

Mens shorts were on the clearance "50% off" rack with a huge sign that said "take an additional 25% off at the register". When I went to check out, the shorts were instead 30% + 25% off instead of the advertised 50% + 25% off. I pointed out this mistake in pricing to the cashier and was flatly told that "some items are 30% off". I clearly explained that there were 40 pairs of the same shorts all completely filling a rack clearly marked 50% off, to which I was told, "well, some items are only 30% off". They rudely refused to give me the advertised price despite clearly being in the wrong. Dishonest price-gouging @Meijer.

Produce department is second to none. They always have a great selection of produce and all of their shelves are neatly stocked. This is a nice change from the other stores that are combination department and grocery. The only thing we have commented on is the bananas are usually green and need a few extra days to ripen. Great selection of food, bakery has great choices. If you are looking for frozen pizza, I have never seen a selection like this store, there are more choices than anywhere. Great choice for grocery shopping.

The remodel has definitely made some changes for the better. Brighter lighting and an improved sense of cleanliness make it a friendlier place to shop. The produce department is large and offers a great deal of selection but Id really like to see more organic and better emphasis on local. I have the same feelings about the meat department, it needs some more local and ethical emphasis without so much stress on low prices at cost of quality.

When I go here.. I always find expired food still on the shelves past their expiration date and I also always avoid this store because of the nasty attitudes from the people who work here and the people who frequent the store as well always seem to try to start fights also so Id rather take my business elsewhere where I get treated better instead of being judged like a convicted murderer by the employees.

At one time I used to do nearly all my shopping at this Meijer. Theres still a few things I like to get at Meijer, but with all the other options out there, I find myself stopping in less and less. I still think they carry the best fresh produce in the area, Like most large stores, getting in and out is a pain. Ever since the remodel, it just feels less inviting, and more stressful.

Newly renovated. Some things are now easier to find. I primarily shop there only when picking up prescriptions. They offer most of my prescriptions for free hoping Ill buy other stuff there. I suppose thats working out for them. But Im not buying anything I dont already need, which is what theyre really hoping for.

I think its great that they have started having ALL the clothes in all sizes. Being, lets face it, a fat women my self, it has been so difficult to find very many nice outfits. I was always stuck with the 5 to 10 choices that other people thought "we" should wear. Thumbs up to you, Meijer!
