This place has a good atmosphere and good beverages. It is one of those places that you might never know about, even if you only live a few blocks away. Its windows are covered with grilling and there is no outdoor advertisement that really calls attention to the location. I am starting to wonder if it is a neighborhood conspiracy - they know what a good thing theyve got and do not want to compete for seat space with interlopers. Should have WIFI by 10/09 which will make it easy to lug your laptop along and at least put up the pretense of doing work. They are also discussing getting a better food menu. The current offerings definitely cater to the high school crowd. These are all improvements all eagerly awaited by patrons.

Visited this fine establishment for the first time, today; Im impressed! "Folks" is a good name for it, as it feels very homey and comfortable. I had a breakfast burrito and their take on chai and both were freakin phenomenal! As other reviewers have noted, everything is made in-house and most of their products are organic fair-trade or local (but dont "bust the credit union" or whatever). Ill definitely be going back!

From the amazing coffee to the friendly owners...cant think of a better way to wake up. I didnt get a coffee card. The owner came outside and said she remembered me and my husband from the day before and stamped our card to include our past purchases. Very nice people. Warm and kind to their customers of all ages. Coffee is so good that sugar is unnecessary.

I was referred by the spanish club that meets every other saturday. I really enjoy the service offered by tamy and juan its the best coffee shop in wilmington and i have tried about all of them. I am very finicky with my aroma for coffee, but folks cafe keeps me coming back,very excellent, dont miss this gem in the port city.

Folks is for the people. Cafe Para la gente! The coffee not only tastes good, it IS good. Organic and fair trade coffee abounds in this little place. Not only that, this conscientious shop offers Wilmingtonians coffee without a complementary shot of PFCs. Pretty important these days. Thanks, Folks!

They have delicious coffee, a delicious veggie burrito, a delicious home brewed chai latte, a wonderful cozy setup, and the owners are the nicest, most supportive people. I cant recommend this place highly enough. Im looking forward to trying the empanadas - they looked great.

The owners are dedicated to the highest quality coffee they can buy. They roast each pound individually. The owners and their customers are amazingly friendly and giving. They work hard everyday to make that neighborhood better.
