I dont understand the five star ratings that appear. If possible I would give a zero star rating. I had a very disappointing meal there when I walked in I hope to get a nice glass of cold water because it was hot and instead I got a glass of water with no ice and had to ask for ice. And that was the beginning I got a expensive steak salad and my aunt got two sides of tomato pie and somet other vegetable. My steak came with what they called a reduction sauce and to me it was like grape jelly the last thing I wanted on my steak was a sweet jelly but I ate it, the salad was fair. There was hardly anyone in the place however the service was pretty slow. When I got my bill it was $53.50 for the most disappointing meal Ive had in decades however I left a $10 tip it wasnt the waitresses fault. I asked my aunt what she thought of the whole meal and her answer was terrible and she said it was worth a 0 star rating. Southern Kitchen ? I dont think so !

Pimento cheese app : bland and dry pimento cheese...accompanied by pickled onion / raddish(odd choice...the menu just says pickles). Please dont mess up and try and eat the in house made cracker, unless you have a decent dental plan...that sucker wouldnt even break apart after being stabbed with a knife and fork. Tomato pie : if you have had real southern tomato pie then I would suggest not ordering this. The filling was more reminiscent of bruschetta topping(in appearance and taste). Chicken pot pie : the filling tasted like it came from a can. This place has all the right verbiage, but the execution is lacking. A few adjustments could go a long way.

The food is presented well. Definitely can tell they take pride in their food. The taste dies not live up to the presentation. Flavors are a bit underdeveloped and "One note". I had the shrimp and grits, shrimp cooked great, the rice was not overdone. Unfortunately, the permeating flavor of the whole dish was red chilli flake. I like dishes that are hot, but too much chilli flake makes the whole dish taste like your earing a big old red chilli flake. I definitely try them again, but for me this restaurant is a big miss.

I would give the food 5 stars, the decor 5 stars, the slow service 3 stars and the two glaring television sets no stars. So tacky! The first time I went I had 6 marvelously prepared sea scallops on a delicious bed of grits and succotash. The second time I had the same but with 5 scallops. The third time one in my party was served only 4 scallops; I didnt order them. I wonder if they are going down to no scallops. I had the duck, which was good but over cooked and dry.

Super food and service. Have been to the restaurant twice in past 4 days during vacation in area. Wait staff is very knowledgeable and helpful in making suggestions..food is delicious...from pork belly...pimento cheese.. Tomato pie and collards casserole...to scallops and portabello. And do not forget the nanner pudding. Exceptional. Please support this restaurant. Mike and sandy s

Unexpected delight as we were having a late lunch and decided to try Birchwood Hall. It has been a few weeks but I am still craving the Goat Cheese Fritters with the chefs own jelly. Also had my first Fried Green Tomato BLT and it was delicious! Unique addition to Waynesville and look forward to returning on my next trip to Maggie Valley. Wishing you great success!

Fantastic food with amazing presentation! We were wowed by the service also- Martha was very attentive without hovering and knew the menu well. The drinks were unique and delicious. We got to meet the bartender Daniel (I think that was his name- tall, friendly fellow) who described the drinks to us. We will return to this beautiful gem in Waynesville!

AMAZING! I wish I could give this place more than just 5 stars. The decor is so comfortable and the service from Mary GRACE was incomparable. She was informative so hospitable. From the first bite to the last WE LOVED EVERYTHING. The scallops, the fried chicken and the "bacon and quail egg" app were delicious.

Perhaps the best restsurant in Haywood County. Chef Peak does such an outstanding job with a delightful combination of herbs, vegetables and deliciously prepared meats, poultry, seafood, etc. Consider yourselves fortunate to eat there at your earliest opportu ity. Great bar and desserts to enjoy anytime.

This could just be my new favorite restaurant in Waynesville. The kale & beet salad was fresh and delicious and the shrimp & grits cake was soul food at its best. Will definitely be back!

My wife and I had a wonderful lunch there on Friday. Listen to great music and enjoyed a wonderful meal. I hope you make it. You should have PBR draft and have a afternoon special.
