Only gave one star because I had to. My wife and I used to love going to this bar as the bartender is awesome. However, we will never go back again because of the loser owner and an inconsiderate and arrogant "regular" customer. My wife and I went there the other day after receiving some really bad news from a doctors appointment. We were sitting outside (for privacy) discussing the results of the appointment when the "regular" customer came up to us and asked if he could sit with us so he could smoke his cigar. With tears in her eyes, my wife politely asked him if he could sit at the table nearby (8 feet away) because we were having a private conversation. Any normal human being with an ounce of empathy would be able to see right away that something serious was going down and would gladly walk three steps to the adjacent table. Not this guy. He said, "Well too bad, Im sitting down" and proceeded to sit down at our table. I asked him to leave and he said he knew the owner, Tom, and that he could sit down to smoke if he wanted to. Needless to say, my wife burst into tears and went in to talk to the owner and I proceeded to get quite upset with this idiot. My wife had to wait ten minutes to talk to the owner and when she finally got to explain what had happened, he said flippantly, "He should be able to sit out there and smoke". We immediately paid our tab ( with a big tip for the bartender) and left before something bad happened. We will NEVER patronize this establishment again.

I personally have always enjoyed my meals and drinks at this establishment the Bartenders and Owners always take excellent care of me when I visit the Cary Pub. I mean just like any establishment people have their off days Ill grant you, but as a whole I have had top notched service and great quality food from Chef Brian and great drinks from the bar staff whenever I have patronized this establishment and to anyone looking for a good watering hole I highly suggest The Cary Pub.

The only thing good about this place is that theres alcohol...and even that is a stretch. The food was terrible, the service almost as bad. The bar tenders would go out to smoke often and never wash their hands....I dont want that serving my food, but they did. One guy came in, sat unnoticed for about 5 mins, left and went next door to get Chinese. I have no idea how this place is still open. Stay away, unless...no theres no reason to go here. Just dont.

This is my neighborhood pub so I super appreciate its existence. There arent too many walking distance establishments around for neighborhoods in Cary and this one makes my area a unique one in my opinion. Its a typical sort of watering hole with average food, but the beers are cold and cheap. Sometimes thats all youre looking for and this one hits the mark. Smokers are also allowed on the outdoor tables if youre into that sort of thing.

Was in there at 2:40pm there were only 3 people in the place the waitress was talking to the other 2 men customers about sports and just let us sit there and didnt even acknowledge us or ask us for drinks or give us a menu horrible service. Finally writing this review because this is the second time this has happened at this place.

Great atmosphere. I went here for lunch with my boss and the food was fantastic. We got the fried pickles as an appetizer and they were sooo good. The music wasnt so loud that we couldnt talk and the waitress we had was very friendly.
