Spot Coffee is your local neighborhood café, and it delivers in regards to those aspects. This café used to house the old Chevy Dealership, which you can see out in the exterior. I remember when Spot was BIGGER, and had more of a living room quality to it when hanging out. Now, it is extremely commercialized with Spot selling off half of their space to another restaurant. No longer are the private intimate moments you will share with someone here, and are now replaced with moments shared with everyone. The upstairs is the best spot to get away from the crowds for a little bit, and enjoy your cup of coffee with a quick book. Bands also play here sometimes during the weekend, which makes for a good time. You can also find a very impressive mural of the City of Rochester placed along the top of the wall here, and if you look closely, some buildings are painted in the wrong spot. Prices here are RIDICULOUS, and too high for the quality you receive, especially when it comes to the food. The coffee on the other hand, is sub-par, and seems to get cold at a fast rate. This is a great spot to meet guys; in fact your success rate here is higher than any other coffee shop in Rochester. The reason for this is because SPOT seems to be the central hub for students, office workers, and everyone else passing through to get to the other side. Its great when you walk outside and you see someone you like through the window, you can just walk right back in to sit on one of the comfy couches together. House Blend Coffee: This is your average cup of joe, with mild hints of milk chocolate, nougat, and cream. Mostly it just tastes like weak watered down coffee. I understand they micro-roast on site, but it appears they just bulk process fast to appease the masses. The Chai Latte is your better bet, as this is also made in-house, with more flavors. Protein Power Shakes: This is where it is at, and one of the ONLY reasons you will find me here after the gym. They use Whey Protein powder with fresh fruits/juices. They also offer you a flavorful combination to choose from such as my favorite Strawberry-Banana. Google! Tip- make sure to order your shake with a REAL banana, as they will auto mix it with house syrup. Other delicious fruity combinations include Blueberry-Strawberry, and Peach-Mango. Pesto Chicken Panini: For some reason the sandwiches here seem very frozen processed. I dont think any of the ingredients they use here are fresh, as my Panini tastes like freezer burn. The basil, sun-dried tomatoes, mozzarella all seemed so artificial to me, like one of the Egg McMuffins at Mcdonalds. For 10.00 bucks, they just market these cheaply made sandwiches to the masses. Overall: GREAT Location, Ample Amounts of Seating, Protein Power Shakes, Pesto Chicken What?, Live Bands, and the Chai Latte....I Will Be Back.

I love SPoT, and I always have. I am glad to have it back. Why? Because Spot is incredibly unique in that it smacks of effort and care. Spot is nothing like a generic chain. You dont feel like a number, its not an assembly line, and the employees so obviously care about what they do. Spot is a warm, fun, unique place. It has its own character and charm. Any good business pays attention to the details, and Spot does that. The food, drinks, layout, and the entire atmosphere all bleed of owners and employees that care. Have you ever ordered a burger/sandwich where somehow the person who made it couldnt seem to align the bun with the stuff inside of it? Or you pick up the sandwich and it falls apart? Yeah, no. Thats not Spot. I have to tell you, the food is awesome. The menu says "sandwiches", but what an injustice that word is. Its love on a plate. Youre not getting some cold cuts slapped in between two slices of wonderbread. Youre getting amazing melt-in-your-mouth warm focaccia, that they bake themselves. And inside that? Holy cow. It doesnt matter which sandwich you get, because theyre all delicious. Its not fast food. Its real food. Made by someone that cares. Everything that Spot does—all of the attention to detail and the fantastic food—are full of pride. Dont come here to mooch on the wireless and then complain when it doesnt work. Actually order a drink and some food, enjoy the awesome floor to ceiling windows, and have fun watching life go by. Good food, good coffee, great view, nice people—what the hell else do you want from a coffee shop? Spot, I hope you never close. If you do, Ill have to hunt you down for your bread recipe.

The reason why I am giving this place such a low score has nothing to do with the food. The people were nice, and the food was okay, definitely not a bad place, and it is quite popular. However, they really need some better ventilation because the entire place is saturated with oil in the air. It is pretty obvious when you enter, but it is only really noticeable when you come out and all your clothes smell like oil...I just find it disgusting. I have been there several times in the past year, and my clothes reek so much that I have to keep my windows open when I am driving back home. Please keep this in mind if you plan to go somewhere important or meet anyone after hanging out at this place. However, if you are not that sensitive about the smell of oil in your clothing and skin, then this is not a bad place to go.

Poor customer service, came out of state, drove over 18 hrs. To be in my hometown and show my husband the rochester downtown before we head out to familys house near Webster . Walked over 25 min. From the parking lot, being 6.5 months pregnant on a thursday to spot coffee only to be rejected by the server there saying she wont serve us because shes closing in 5 minutes, dont know why when it was only 10:36 and they dont close till 11 on thursday. I only wanted a cup of tea, and my husband wanted simple cup of coffe w milk. The server then trailed out back w another customer blabbering her mouth. May this place b a better service ,because i am willing to give another shot of it. After all this used to b a great get together place few years ago for me and my friends.this was in july the 13th

Took forever just to get a wrap. I waited in line standing at the counter for 15 minutes then went upstairs. Finally received and it was made wrong. Sent back, waited another 15 minutes and it was still wrong (not the correct ingredients I ordered) but I was so starving by that point I ate it anyway. My companions were finished with their meal and waiting to go. I found out later that night that it was NOT gluten free like I asked....twice! I was sick all night and the meal was terrible (awful tasting and horribly dripping soggy, yes a wrap). They never comped anything and barely even apologized. The bathroom toilets were dirty and constantly flushing incessantly and water was leaking all over the floor.

We were in town for a family wedding. I went to the Spot as the hotel recommended it as one of the best places for coffee. The were not lying!! I am from Iowa and dont believe that Starbucks is a coffee shop. I go to the same coffee place everyday for the past 12 years and I told the staff at The Spot how I like my decaf coffee. The mocha that I got from The Spot was better than anything I have ever had! I wish we had a Spot in Davenport, IA. I would be there everyday. The staff was very friendly and the store was clean. My husband and I fell in love with the Art Deco style of the store as well.
