This is one of those places where the food is incredible but the service is just awful. The hostess asked us "how many?" With no greeting or smile and then handed us a buzzer without saying anything. When we got a seat, she just said to go with her and walked away. We did love everything we ordered, but it took 15-20 minutes before even being able to order drinks. When those finally came, we immediately ordered and the food took about the same amount of time before coming out. During this time my husband got a refill on his drink but no one refilled mine, and we didnt see our waiter at all. He checked in exactly once during our meal and we got no more drink refills though both of us had empty glasses. When we went to pay our check the man at the register just stared at us until we gave him the receipt, and then didnt say a word until my husband handed him his card. I probably havent gotten service quite this bad in a really long time, but the food really was incredible and our waiter was nice enough, just very busy. TLDR: I highly suggest this place for takeout. Skip eating there and just enjoy it at home.

Ive gone to many Mexican Restaurants in Chicago and was sorely disappointed after going to this one. The decor was friendly but a bit odd, with traditional images of a Mexican village molded into plastic, it comes across as a theme park or play land. This isnt a big deal since I am more interested in the food. A mortal sin for any Mexican restaurant is if there introductory salsa and chips is not good. La Galera had salsa that tasted like ketchup, chips that tasted oily, and horchatas that tasted like it came from a powdered premix bag, not fresh at all. I ordered a pork dish and it was salty, the flour tortilla was soggy and chewy, and the ketchup salsa laid over it, almost caused me to complain. My daughter had enchiladas, and while she liked it, it looked more like an enchilada salad drowned in lettuce and sour cream. I would mark this one off my list.....

The food here is outstanding. It was the best Mexican food me and my family ever tried! I ordered the "Steak y Camaron" (camaron means shrimp in Spanish) and man I did get a very large portion and it tasted really delicious! My dad tried the Tacos al Pastor and said to me it almost tastes like the real thing back in Mexico. Those tacos are a must if you are going to dine here. My moms order just came out from the grill! She said that the steak and chicken breast strips were very tender. Even the tortilla chips and salsa were fresh. If you ever visit (or live) in Buffalo, this restaurant is a MUST. To conclude my review, we will be coming back in the future.

A classic, claim to be authentic Mexican food, but use sub-standard cheese. The Renos not battered and their sauces are somewhat bland. Servers were friendly and attentive initially then there was something going on at the casheir stand that got everyones attention (5 servers) and the service got poor. I feel bad rating them this poorly but they really werent authentic Mexican food. Dont get me wrong I have had Rihannas without batter before and they have been very good but in this instance the peppers the use were tough and they used processed cheese blend. Sea of the four of us ordered me a nose they were all the same.

I ordered the chicken chimichanga with a side of rice, cheese dip, and the half pitcher of lime Margarita. Everything was really good, but was not the best Mexican food Ive had. The cheese dip was very delicious as well as the salsa. The chimichanga could have had more meat and veggies inside the shell and it came with the smallest portion of guacamole they could possibly give. The rice and refried beans were pretty bland. Lastly, the decor was fun but the carpets could be updated and the fish tank was sad. Also, the bath room could use an air freshener. Overall, a good experience with great service and responsible prices.

I have never had a bad meal at this restaurant. Any time I go out to dinner with some one who has never been here this is where I take them first! The way you are able to customize your own meal or pick from one of their pre-selected dishes is amazing. I would advised getting a taco with any meal you get if it doesnt already come with one. Trust me you will be missing out if you dont! The ground beef they have is absolutely delicious and the chicken is cook perfectly. If you can enjoy an adult beverage I would highly advised getting a pitcher of Margaritas because they off the chain!!!!!!!!!!!

There simply isnt better Mexican food than this. La Galera looks like a bit of a hideaway and I was surprised to see it on such a busy street I passed all the time. Once you stop in, they set themselves apart. Enormous plates of food all made fresh, friendly staff and a huge menu to choose from. The food itself is just incredible. They give you so much food for the price, quite frankly they could mark it up 50% and I would still go. Everyone there is friendly and the atmosphere is pretty good. I cant recommend this place enough.

being from California i have had the chance to have the best of the best of Mexican food outside of Mexico. The La Galera is on top with the level of quality and fast as well as friendly service that i have had each and every time i have stepped foot in to the great place. i might be wrong but i think this is the only real mexican restaurant in the niagara falls area. I have been to many other in Buffalo, Amherst, so on and so forth. This is the best Mexican food New York state has to offer.

Food at par with El Canelo and El Palenque, but restaurant itself appears cleaner and newer and the heat was actually on. Waiter asked if wed like our beers in a frosted mug - nice touch. Salsa fairly hot, too much for our kids. Staff very friendly and food came extremely fast. Food was high quality and a good amount. Although, beef tasted like what you get in canned hash - maybe an authentic Mexican thing? If youre in the area and want something casual, but not dumpy, stop in.

LOVE this place. Always a very friendly wait staff and prices are GREAT. The food always comes way faster than I expect and the menu has a whole separate vegetarian section, which is a huge plus for me. It seems like even when its busy, its never noisy and you always feel valued like youre the only customer in the restaurant. Always dine with my family and the staff is always very friendly and accommodating toward our toddler. This is my familys go-to place for dining out.

My wife and I decided to try this restaurant based on the reviews we read during our visit to Niagara Falls and what a mistake this was. We had the margaritas which were very sweet. Had the dinner for two and found that it may have been pre made since it came out so fast. In fact it was somewhat cold. I would not recommend this place Very disappointed in the food. Asked a server what was in the dish and they could not tell us how it was made.
