Went there on 2/13 to celebrate twin daughters bday. Made a reservation for 7 pm. 1. When we got there we were ignored while other people were seated. 2. Then we were taken to a table in the kitchen -which was ok except that we were 4 and the table was for 3. 3. We went back to say no good and were told 5 mins. so we went to the bar, ordered 4 drinks and waited...and waited...while others were served. Our drinks didnt come by the time our new table was ready.. We sat and as we are having appetizers, the drinks came-4. as well as the bar bill- in the middle of eating. My daughter told the waitress to take the bill away and bring it with the other one at the end...5. The food was just OK. 6. we took leftover food home- 2 separate things, When I opened it the next morning, BOTH things were mushed in together--- so STRIKE 6!! We will NEVER go back. They treated us like garbage.I guess our money is not the same???We werent their "Great Neck" looking clientel????. I have a mind to call the DA and make an inquiry into their record/reputation. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!

At 6pm, on a Sunday night, in such a roomy restaurant, my friend and I entered a nearly vacant Wild Ginger. We were seated by a waitress immediately adjacent to an elderly couple. Awk. "What about that other-" nope, she was adamant we sit at the one she pointed out.. The food was okay - pretty good actually (flavorful & well-cooked). We ordered the Garlic Shrimp and a Beef dish, which came with a small scoop of rice on the side. But what we ate amounted to $40. kinda pricey, no? They were medium sized plates of food. Service wasnt the friendliest (aka they were pretty cold). They dont speak English well either. Looking around, I think my friend and I were the only Asian customers in the entire restaurant (even with more ppl who had rolled on in). There are no chopsticks provided. and when we asked for hot tea, we were served hot water in glass cups normally used for milkshakes err... The place is a tad odd...

Id been to Wild Ginger a couple of times for family gatherings, but the food never stood out enough for me to remember anything on the menu. We stopped going for a few years because there are plenty of better restaurants in Great Neck. A few weeks ago, we impulsively decided to go to the restaurant again for dinner. The lighting was awful- so dark you can hardly see your food. The chairs and tables were old and looked like they were about to fall apart. We walked in and many of waiters were just standing at the front of the restaurant talking amongst themselves, not bothering to welcome us. When we finally were seated, I found a cockroach crawling on the chair next to mine. Obviously, we got up and left immediately without ordering. The whole environment was just gross.

I had coconut curry for lunch the other day. It was awful! They are cutting back too much on so many of the ingredients they used to have in this curry dish that the taste and the quality of this dish are suffering big time. It is too much sugar and grease and too little coconut and curry. The bill for the dish (with chicken) was charged three dollars more than what it should have been. They corrected it but without any apology. The waiter needs to be trained professional mannerism. We used to love this restaurant and came here often until a few years ago. What happened? Why such a decline in quality of food and service? We will not be coming here again any time soon. Thats for sure. Cant recommend it.

EXCELLENT....we went to wild ginger on a friday night and had an awsome time, they had happy hour on all drinks and the cute bartender made fantastic mojitos, our server during dinner was extremly polite and knowledgable on all the dishes. we tried the tempura shrimp with the lemon sauce, honey back ribs and the thai crab cakes for appetizer..they were all delic...main course i had the fire wok which was basically a sizzling sea food platter that come knockin with endless flavors..dessert i tried the wild vanilla which is topped with hazelnut kalua..my experience in this restaurant was Great. Will def visit again.

Variety of dishes, but to me it tasted like generic asian-inspired food. This restaurant came up on a google search for Thai food, but the cuisine is far from Thai, and is hardly authentic Chinese either, which is surprising given the increasingly asian influence of Great Neck. I had the duck dumplings, duck fajitas, and chicken and broccoli. All were well cooked (e.g. broccoli was firm, not flaccid or drowned in sauce), but lacked flavor. Pros- good atmosphere, friendly staff, variety of dishes Cons- uninspiring flavor and not authentic

Very bad service. I order from there, all hungry and eager, and i live barely 10 mins away. They were 40 mins late, I called them three times for them to tell me the order was 5 mins away and they didnt even apologize. When I finally received it, one of my order was missing. Once again I call them and they told me that is was there, I ended up picking it up. It took me over 2 hours to finally eat.. thanks..... PS , they arent even that good..

The food was wonderful. The sesame chicken was the best I had ever tasted, and the crab cakes were much larger than I had expected and were one of a kind. The sushi (spicy tuna rolls) were above average but were not extremely memorable. My only complaint is the waiters. Although they do their job fine they seem to be lacking in energy and enthusasm. Overall its great and is the best Asian food you can ever have.

I just returned from a lunch out on Long Island this afternoon. The space was lovely, but my tummy after the meal was not so lovely. I had the summer rolls, which has a nice sauce....then had the red snapper, both of which was mediocre at best. Sick to my stomach is what I got.

A service was okay, but a food was not as we expected, dishes were overpriced for low quality, we ordered three different special sushi rolls, only one was okay, two other were below average, dry and tasteless. Stay away from sushi bar, try something else.

This Asian fusion spot has very good ambience and nice decor. However, their dishes do not quite stand out for my taste. Personally I enjoy Asian food very much, especially Thai food and other Southeast Asian cuisines. But I couldnt recommend Wild Ginger!

I always crave their hot and sour soup when the weather gets cooler, it always hits the spot! Lunch specials are okay but I like the variety on the menu overall and have always had great service and food whenever I would eat here.

I have always enjoyed eating here, but this fusion is very tasty, great drinks, not the friendliest staff, and I think thats because English is not their first language. However I do recommend eating here.
