WOW! What a pleasant surprise! Weve passed Imperial 46 Restaurant a number of times and thought nothing of it. Actually, I always thought it was another location of sushi buffet place from Long Island--probably cause the signage is very similar. That said, dont go by what it looks like from the outside! It in no way reflects the stylized decor and quality that is Imperial 46! On a Friday night at the peak of dinner, we waited about 10 minutes to be seated--pretty good! All the chain restaurants in the area wouldve had a minimum of 30 minutes wait. I noticed it was BYOB based on the talk of the nearby patrons, not to mention their arms filled with beer and liquor. We were seated on the right side of the restaurant--tables of 2 and 4 plus the sushi bar. Whenever the door opened, the wind whipped right by us. On the left side of the restaurant is the hibachi section outfitted with flashing lights to get your party on. And speaking of party, Imperial 46 has party rooms if youre looking to host a bash. They have a rather extensive menu of Chinese, Japanese and sushi to choose from. I always get the same thing when I eat Chinese--broccoli and string beans in a brown sauce. And for such a simple dish, Im always asked if its "okay to charge you extra". For what? Being specific? Needless to say, I really enjoyed Imperial 46s version of my dish, albeit a touch on the oily and salty side. It was served with the fluffiest brown rice Ive ever had (though they didnt ask what kind of rice I wanted). Typically the dish is served in one dish, the rice in a small bowl--Imperial 46 put everything on the same plate, leaving less room for the vegetables, thereby saving Imperial 46 some coin. My husband didnt stop singing the praises of the Panko Crust Tuna Roll. He said there was a mix of flavors from the tuna, panko, sweet and sour with a little spice. At almost $13, he said it was well worth it. He also had a chicken roll and spicy tuna roll which paled in comparison. With friendly and helpful servers, Im quite sure Imperial 46 has found a repeat customer in us!

The reason why its only 2 its because of the manager and the bad hospitality (not the food). We were two people going there. One of us craving for hibachi and the other for sushi. We sat on the hibachi place, ordered one platter for hibachi and rolls of sushi. When the waitress knew it was only for one person she wasnt sure and asked her manager about it. Noting that the place was litteraly empty with at least a place for 50 other people. The smart and welcoming manager came by and assured that we cant eat there if it is only for one. We were really deceived and shocked from such a management and we just left. I am wondering if one person came alone and wanted hibachi : they would gently fire him? Felt I was at school with unbreakable rules. It was very unprofessional, rude , unwelcoming and deceiving. Too bad...

Way too expensive for a mediocre sushi/hibachi restaurant. Prices are way too high and service was a nightmare. We went as a group of 25 to celebrate a birthday and our server was terrible. Few of us did not want hibachi and were treated like absolute crap for it. Sally was rude, intentionally forgetful of our orders esp. since I had to remind her to serve every item I ordered. If you have to grovel for tips when you already have table of 25 by making singling out few, I really dont know what to say about management. Whoever posted the positive reviews below, are obviously not from customers. Food was ordinary although I have to complement our hibachi chefs...they were wonderful. WILL NEVER STEP BACK IN THIS RESTAURANT.

I have been dining at Imperial 46 for over a decade. This was the first time I had a problem, but it was a major one. I ordered chirashi, but the server apparently brought me a different type of sushi dish, which I did not notice. While I was eating, another server came by and said, "This is not the right food." He took my dish while I was still chewing and left me with nothing. After waiting some 7 - 8 minutes, I finally found my waitress and asked her what had happened, and she simply brought back my dish that was sitting somewhere else in the restaurant. I said I did not want it anymore, and I was comped the meal. The owner did apologize for the poor service, but I am certain I will never dine there again.

Chinese is ok but the hibachi is a poor value. Small portions and uninspired cusine prepared by a lacklustre hibachi chef made me wish I had gone across the highway for a hot dog at Falls View (great hot dogs and junk food!). How about some hot tea, noodles, and af least some white rice if the ridiculous $5 fried rice option is not chosen. Every other hibachi restaurant I have ever patronized offered these items. Not even for the members of our party eating from the Chinese menu. And not even a fortune cookie! Shame on you! Much better food, service, and value at other hibachi in the area.

My family ordered about $50.00 in food from this place. We got pork fried rice the PORK was RAW!!!!!!!! My husbands low mein was so DRY AND RANCID! Like death. It was horrible. We called them and then brought the food back to store on rt 46. They did not even say sorry and deducted $10.00 from our order for the fried dumplings that my kids ate before we even opened the combination dinners! NO SORRY or anything. I demanded all my money back because they ruined my dinner and gas back and forth from house to store.

My husband and I tried this restaurant tonight for hibachi dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was good, our chef put on a great show and was very friendly and most importantly the food was excellent. We have lived in the area for several years now and have been so disappointed by all the other hibachi places we tried because they generally do not use garlic and the food is bland. At this place the food was cooked with garlic and everything had a great flavor, so we will definitely be back.

This was my first time here. I didnt know what it expect to be honest. But a few minutes into it all I can say is this. Damn, what a outrageously awesome experience this was. Not only did I get to taste some delicious cuisine up close, just the way they cooked it and all was pure awesomeness and amazing. The manager and the waiter I had today was just the greatest people ever. I just rate this overall 5 out of 5. I will definitely come back with my friends some time.

My husband and I got sick after eating at this restaurant. Very bad (graphic) runs and I actually had the shakes. I called the restaurant the next day to tell them how sick we both got. The manager response was to go to the doctor. Yep. I was sick from Friday to Tuesday and eventually had to pay more money to see my doctor on top of the expensive restaurant bill that we paid for so they could make us sick. We will not be going back there.
