I have been going to this restaurant since it open, between my husband and I, we have been there over 25 times, both our companys have had meeting and congratulatory dinners as well. Last night even though the food and service were great, I have to say the woman that came out of the kitchen to ask us several times if we were ready to order dinner(rushing us) was rude and embarrassing. Several old friends wanted to meet for dinner, so on my recommendation we made a reservation. We sat poured some wine a chatted a bit. Order some appetizers, chatted and drank a little more. at this point the woman comes out of the kitchen and asked if we are ready to order. The waiter, who by the way was embarrassed as well came to take our order, we finish dinner and ordered dessert and tea. Chatted a little more and then our check came, we put our card out, the server came over ran it and came back, we decided to double his tip because we did sit at the table for a length of time. Then the woman comes over again and asked us to leave, she needed the table. I have never been so embarrassed at restaurant like ever before. As professional people ( attorney, psychologist and paralegal) we dont feel the need to return to your restaurant again to be embarrassed.

Location is easy to get to and features good views of the Bay. The restaurant is very noisy. The service was uneven...server was polite and friendly but he forgot to bring one of our orders. He blamed it on the kitchen. We decided to cancel, but he left it on the bill anyway and we had to get the bill corrected after he acknowledged that he would remove the item. Can recommend the sushi, tempura and soft shell crab. Thai offerings were bland. Chicken dishes were average (General Tsos). Head towards the Japanese menu items and away from the Chinese and Thai offerings. Portion sizes were good.

Awesome food! We have been there many times and always love it. The staff is always very friendly and informative. I would give it a five star if they were actually open during the hours they list online. I just called to make sure they were open and they said yes but they dont serve dinner until 5. Im not sure they understand what open means. Also there has been many times that we arrived just after 9 to be turned away because they close at 10 and it would take longer than that to serve us. Why not just say that you close at 9 and look like a hero when you take someone at 910?

Shocked!! Normally love them! Until today.. awful. Ordered several rolls like COCONUT SHRIMP ROLL AND PAINTED LADY ROLL..all were terrible. Greasy. Hardly any meat.. One had so much wasabi it couldnt be eaten .. the other .. mustard so strong allover . Mustard seriously?? .. again couldnt eat it. Also ordered bacon egg and cheese fried rice .. normally to die for!! But today, chunk of white rice with cheese and almost raw bacon on top.. Hoping this will not be what can be expected going forward. Was one of my favorite places to eat.. So disappointed.

A Top Tier Asian Restaurant with Full Spectrum of Delicious Variety. Pros: + Great variety of menu selections. + All Fresh and prepared ON DEMAND. + Oyster Bar is fantastic [Best Seller = Chesapeake Blue Point] + High Quality Sushi/Raw Fish as well as KOBE + Service is IMMEDIATE and Friendly. + A Cut Above [KOI, SHOGUN, ASIAN BISTRO In WALL]. This place is FAR Superior. + Management Constantly checking with customers to assure complete satisfaction. Cons: Absolutely None.

As of today, I will no longer eat at Xina. I called and asked to speak with the manager about my order. She was way too argumentative and rude and never apologized for their mistake. I let her know that I wasnt sure if I would remain their customer after this and all she said was "you dont wanna stay with us? Thats fine! Bye!" Then she hung up on me. I have never experienced such lack of professionalism from a manager.

Always packed. A reservation is a must. The sushi rolls are huge, creative and stuffed with fresh fish. Sushi is not all. Great appetizers like a kobe beef you cook right at your table. BYOB! In just a few visits I was able to have every specialty roll. I do wish theyd update the menu. But I keep coming back. I must say, I do not enjoy the takeout. Twice now I have been disappointed. If you are going to try, eat in!

Absolutely incredible experience. Great food, amazing atmosphere, impeccable service. Agreeable pricing, I had expected to pay a lot more for this quality. My server Tyesha was personable and friendly, would recommend asking for her at the door. And MAKE RESERVATIONS! This place was filled up by 7 on a Monday in bad weather, which speaks for itself just how popular this place is!!! 6/5 stars if it was possible!

My real disappointment is that whenever I call for a reservation, seating is at 9:00. That may be great for late-night diners but not for old-folks or those who must eat at earlier hours. When asked when to call for an earlier reservation, I was told to call a week prior. Really? Im happy these folks are busy. And the food is great but no booze, no reservations and that awful bar knocks down some points.

My husband and I live in Matawan and we drive an hour to eat here at least 2 to 3 times a month. Every single thing we have had here is AMAZING. The food is great and the service is just as wonderful. Very active atmosphere and everyone seems to always be having a great time. We also love that the owners are so hands on. I have recommended this restaurant numerous times to others.

Food was delicious and portions are large would recommend calling ahead a day or two to get a reservation and although the sushi bar seating is available for walk-ins there is usually a wait there. Place is also BYOB so bring a bottle of wine or some beer if you want a drink with your food. Service is great and hostesses were welcoming will be coming back later this summer.

If I had an option to rate a negative star I would. My experience was not at all expected. I read so many great reviews and decided to give it I go. It started off with slimy seaweed salad to low grade tasteless sushi, and the presentation was no different than if I purchased it at a local supermarket. With that said, I will never step foot in there again.

Recently took my girlfriend for Dinner on a Sunday evening....While I have been to Xinas many times, it was her first......Additionally, her first time eating sushi as well.....As always, the wait staff were a pleasure. The food continues to be outstanding !!!! A great casual atmosphere with friendly people and wonderful food......A must try......

Ive been to Xinas twice. Dined at a table on one occasion and another time at the sushi bar. Both experiences were good. Food here is very good. The sushi chefs seem skilled and create delicious, edible, works of art. If it wasnt such an exercise to get a table here, I would definitely go more often.

My favorite Toms River restaurant! Fresh and delicious oysters, new and different appetizers, excellent sushi, and a solid menu of cooked Asian entrees. It does get kinda noisy and busy on weekends. Noisy because of the acoustics of the place, its not rowdy or anything.
