For a state with a lot of Italian cooking in it, the Red Lion Inn remains my favorite Italian restaurant in NJ (and basically every other state, but thats perhaps a given). While their menu offers a lot of options, I recommend going with the spaghetti with red sauce; the pastas in general tend to be made on premises and have a nice texture to them that you dont really get with prepackaged pasta. The sauce is also a highlight, as it has a pleasant, lightly tangy flavor which I havent seen replicated at any other places Ive been to.

Started with drinks at the bar, That little bartender whooped up the best cosmo I had ever had. Then went to the dining room, and started with fried tomatoes, which were amazing!!! I had the spagetti and white clam sauce. It was the best I have ever had. My friend opted for the special chicken cacciatore, she said that dish was incredible!! Our server told us it was an old family receipe. I cant believe I never experienced this place so close to home. I do believe I will become a regular.

Great Food, Great Service and Great People What an amazing restaurant! They make everything from scratch and you can tell how fresh their ingredients are!! They also serve local and in season menu items like their eggplant parm and fried tomatoes! YUM I ALWAYS RECOMMEND
