My aunt and uncle are one of the most loyal customers any place could find. When they find a place they like they go their weekly. The same places. This was one of the places that used to be on their weekly stops for lunch. Until now. A few weeks ago they placed their order and it came out wrong. They sent it back by it were overcharged and brought it to the waitress attention. Like most regulars they order the same thing each week. Not a big deal but when they mentioned that the prices was wrong the waitress responded rudely to my aunt. My aunt and uncle decided not to tip because the service was not deserving of one. (I cant understand for the life of me why anyone in the service business thinks they deserve a tip with poor service. I grew up bar tending and waiting table. YOU EARN YOUR TIP!!!) they left and said they were not going back. Well they decided the other day to go back again. They have been going for years and this was the first problem they ever had. Of course they went and got the SAME waitress. All went well with the food u too she brought out the check and decided to tell them..."Dont bother leaving me a tip like last time. I know you dont have any money." I am blown away by the absolute disrespect of this waitress and the audacity she had to treat a customer this way. I asked if my aunt complained but she said its family owned so she felt it was pointless. So I am complaining for them! My aunt still have a tip....far nicer than I would have been. She said she didnt want to be the "same as she was". Customer service has gone out the window at so many establishments and clearly does not exist with this waitress here. Hopefully this review will help The Fireside work on their customer service and remind the public its OK not to tip when you are not given good service.

I received a coupon book for Christmas, with coupons for this establishment. The coupon simply stated "Enjoy a free meal with a purchase of another meal." When my boyfriend called to place a order for him and his coworker ( who frequents the restaurant) he was told that there was a due to a misprint the coupon could would not be honored. Due to the treatment my boyfriend received, I called and asked to speak with a manager. I was told that the manager would not be available for 2 hours. Since I was not able to speak with the manager, I explained to the lady on the phone the situation. Her response was that there was nothing that she could do and that I can speak with the hostess. After speaking with the hostess, I was finally able to speak with a manager. The manager would still not honor the coupon the way it was printed because he said it was the printers fault. However, I know before something is published you receive a proof in which must be approved. If in fact the publishers made a mistake, then the mistake should be taken up with the publisher not the customer. It is my opinion that not honoring valid coupons is not a good business practice . Didnt they every hear of the expression "The customer is always right." Additionaly, when waiting to speak with the hostess and manager, I was not place on hold and I could hear them speaking unfavorablely about me. A little advise, make sure your customers can not hear you!!! They do not have to worry about honoring my coupons because my boyfriend, his coworker and I will never deal with this establishment.

I have been in and out over the last few weeks, and the management appears to have changed. I only used to visit a handful of times a year, but I find myself frequenting much more often due to the people, food and atmosphere change. The place is in the process of getting a much needed makeover, and is coming along great! The staff is very friendly, and make you feel at home. Their breakfast was always the main attraction to me, but last night I went there for dinner on a whim. I was pleasantly surprised to see some old time favorites of mine on the menu, and ordered chicken croquettes, pickled beets and the beef and cabbage soup. Everything was delicious, and reminded me so much of comfort food and memories from my childhood that I had to call my Mother when I got home to tell her about it! The fresh cornbread was the best Ive had, and I only wish my favorite BBQ joint could make it that good. Along with 2 pcs. of cornbread, they also included a fresh Italian roll, and a tasty cheese pastry. Ive never had that much variety with a complimentary bread basket, and each piece was dipped and savored with our meals. We left full and happy with leftovers and dessert, for a price I still cant believe. Ive (regrettably) spent more $ at Dennys before, and no way was the food this plentiful, fresh or tasty. I sincerely hope the "new" Fireside catches on, and the dining room fills up like it should. With our busy schedules and the unbelievable value, I definitely see us becoming 2 day a week regulars, and staying away from those all-too-tempting fast food joints.

This Is A Family Owned & Operated Business That Treats You The Quet As Family. We were in Pitman for a Funeral on the July 23. After the Funeral we decided to eat before returning To MaryLand. We drove in this direction and stopped. The service was over the top as was the meal. The Portions Were Generous And Dessert Was included. My Wife Had A Cup Of Chicken Soup (Not From A Can), Lemon Pepper Salmon, Perfectly Browned On The Top, Sauteed Green Beans And Corn. She Took Home 1/2 The Meal Butt Didnt Take the Dessert(DagNabIt). I Had A Salad Hot OpenFaced Tender Roasted Turkey Sandwich (Not LunchMeat), Smashed Potatoes And Corn. Dessert Was Chocolate Pudding With Whipped Cream Coming Over The Sides. My Soda Was Refilled 3 Times Without asking And They Poured One To Go. We Are Not Likely To Be Back In This Area Butt If We Are, We Wood Go Out Of Our Way To Dine Here Again. All Yawl Within 50 Miles Should Visit Here At Least Once. If You Do Once Wont Be Enuf. Butch & Darlene Jones Pasadena MaryLand

The service at this location was ok. The food was ok. Their hollandaise sauce was a little off, I did not appreciate the piercings that nearly all the servers had in. How ever it did have a nice atmosphere and decor in general. The other thing I would like to mention is that if I have a server I would like my service and card transaction to be handled completely by that one person. All in all, I will probably not return because when I go to a location, I like to have some sort of memorable experience.

The Fireside is another "Cheers" without the booze. The servers know all the regulars names & their special " likes." The food is "good & plenty." The motif is leftover from the 70s/80s, but the food makes up for it. The servers are ALL very nice, & give their best to make your visit pleasant. Overall the dining experience is wonderful, & most guests leave with a doggie bag. I am a big eater, & even I cant tackle some of the dishes. I highly recommend giving them a try with open minds!
