Normally I would give a restaurant that is a little shabby, like this one, a low ratting but the food is very good. The shrimp dumplings must be made by a master chef because they taste fresh and the skin is thin and delicate leaving you wanting more. They only give you 4; a normal size would be 6, so you might want to get 2 orders. On the other hand, its only an appetizer and there are more things to come. This is our fifth time going to this restaurant and every time the quality has been good to very good. The quality of the chicken and shrimp surpasses any takeout restaurant Ive been to. On Chinese restaurant standards, China chef is much larger inside then most Chinese restaurants plus it has a sit down bar which are few and far between these days. The puzzling parts is the place is empty everytime we go there. Thursday night at 7 oclock we were the only people in the main dining room with the bar having a table of six. Granted, the decor could use a little spiffing up and the fish tank should have something else other than the fish; like rocks or a small castle, anything to make it more interesting. Maybe some pictures on the wall of China would help. Considering all this I still dont understand why it is so empty. The elderly staff brings me back to an age long since past with a politeness, subtle humor and willingness to please. Try this restaurant. You wont have to wait for a table, your food will come out hot and youll have much of the place to yourself with no noisy crowds

Weve eaten at this restaurant several times thus, weve decided to use their party room (down the basement) for a small party (buffet style). It was very disappointing and horrible service. The food was not served on time and did not taste as good as it should if you eat at the upper floor and not replenished quick enough. The dessert, ice cream is pre-scooped and very limited that not all guests get to taste it and paper plates were used. The dirty plates were not removed from the tables unless they were told. The floor was so dirty and not mopped, the bathrooms do not have toilet paper, the hand soap was watered down and cap is removed etc.

The restaurant was dark and empty on a Sunday afternoon about 4:30pm. I ask the waiter if they have dim sum and he responded rudely. Make an order!!!! Off course when you walk in to a restaurant, order and eat. Looking at us and talking chinese. I got up, Im not eating here. The waiter said, you have to pay for the chips that they serve when you first sit down. I said how much and he said $5. So I figured since the restaurant was empty, he probably didnt make his tip so I tipped him for being rude. Do not go to that restaurant, people there are horrible and money hungry, no public relations and bad service.

This establishment is extremely unprofessional. I called to place an order for delivery, they dont even answer the phone and state the name of the business - they just answered "hello?" When I told the guy that I live in an apartment building he said that the delivery guy would only go to the lobby and not up to my apartment. He said he cant do anything about it and wouldnt fire him - I have no idea why he told me this. Then he said if I didnt like it I could order from another place. Needless to say, I suggest spending your money at an establishment that appreciates your business.

This one of the best cheap chinese restaurants in the area. Lunch specials are great, although the "Luncheon" specials on the inside menu are confusing. Its about the food though - definitely better than the Asian Fusion place locally that my co-workers frequent. We went here for lunch and the portions were huge - I took it home with me. Ive only had the "Chicken with Garlic Sauce" and the Hot and Sour soup which were both excellent. Cant beat the quality or the price. I never leave reviews but I had to leave it for this place.

China Chef is a white linen table, sit down to eat in a relaxing atmosphere kind of place. Although the interior is somewhat dated and dimly lit, the food is well-prepared. The portions are decent, although I would like to see more meat and less veggies. You get fried noodles and dipping sauce when you sit down. The menu has the same stuff that a take out place would have. Staff is very polite and you will feel welcome here.

It was my first time here and unlike many Chinese Restaurants in this area, China Chef is not a small dive with a few chairs and terrible decor. This place is nicer than average, with a huge dining area to accommodate a large number of people. Our server was welcoming and pleasant. The food is much better with larger portions than the typical Chinese spot. I will definitely come back.

I stepped out for the launch. Was looking for something non-expensive. They got me on the DIM SUM menu. Pretty good price $3.5 right? But everyone speaks Chinese. Server came and brought hot steamed food on the cart. I asked for DIM SUM menu, server confirmed. I have took several of them and got the bill $25. Probably it has to be like that. But that wasnt convenient for me

First time ordering from this place and what a terrible experience it is. The delivery service is horrendous, people there dont speak fluent English guy kept telling me he was outside when clearly he wasnt. We call the restaurant and theyre not helpful, all in all dont trust these people for delivery!!! I actually would give 0 stars if I could.

The lady at the frontdesk is horrible! Asked for an extra chili sauce for a take out delivery and frontdesk lady said "no" with a sarcastic and argumentative voice. She said theres an extra charge (which I am willing to pay) had she set expectations. Customers must be treated with respect! Youre not the only restaurant!

Horrible horrible horrible customer service! I called for delivery because I had guests over and I only live 2 blocks away. They refused to deliver and told me I should walk to pick the food up! I guess they dont appreciate the business. I like their food, but the attitude is terrible. Never going there again

I ordered General Tsos with an order of Crab Rangoon, got delivered and before I could notice I didnt get any CR the guy was gone. However I still had the GT to eat so yeah it tasted like microwaved TV dinner, the rice was dry and you dont get very much food at all. First time trying, last time trying.

Friendly service and very authentic, delicious dishes. We came here every time were in town and every dish is delicious. A year later...still good. Love their orange beef and salt & pepper prawns. Green beans is delicious too.

Food here is great but the wait staff is unfriendly, rude, and generally seem annoyed when you ask them for something, like taking your order, getting a drink, etc. I do really like the food though.
