Id have given this place 1/2 a star if it was an option. I came into the place on a Friday night at 10:30 and sat at the bar. The bar was absolutely filthy with food and sticky with beer. I proceeded to sit there and get comfortable waiting for my bartender for over 15 minutes, as these confused looking bartenders stood around and acted like they knew what they were doing, while completely ignoring me and a friend. At one point my friend had to scream "YO" as one of these glorified barbacks walked by. Then, a female bartender came over and they both literally stood in front of us and argued over who had take our order for a good minute and a half decided it was going to take our order. The guy lost that debate. I asked if he had a beer menu, (not realizing I was dealing with a "special" individual) he brings me 1 Food menu for the both of us and disappears. Never attempted to clean the filthy bar in front of us. Then a THIRD "barperson" came up and completely ignored us. That brought the tally to 3 rude, clueless, lost behind the bar, barbacks pretending to be bartenders. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Even if you were dying of thirst, avoid this bar, because you would simply due of thirst. Find a bar where the bartenders know what they are doing, pay attention to the scene and the patrons and run around like fools just to look busy. I am seriously worried about how many bar patrons are going to get obliterated because these bartenders have no clue about responsibility or livability. They are going to be the cause of a customer getting behind the wheel and causing a terrible accident, simply because they are to incompetent to monitor alcohol intake at the bar. Its a scary thought, Im staying away from seaside for sure now

I left this same review on Yelp, Im really disappointed, and confused? I was recommended to spicys buy several face book friends, was really excited for some good Mexican food ! And when I came here ( downstairs ) some one seated us and never mentioned there was two dining options, apparently they assumed we wanted the usual board walk food options because I noticed the menu was pretty basic ( fries, pizza, some little popper apps and egg rolls of some sort, not much Mexican food besides nachos, ) yet still we gave it a try.. nachos how about some chips with 7-11 cheese and sour cream ? lol definitely not authentic or great, whatever we shared a Cuban sandwich was really good, and left.. looked above to some people with chips and guacamole and salsa, confused as if...??? did we just spend over $40 on some basic Boardwalk food when the food we came for was the same restaurant name just up stairs??? This was a outrage, how can they not mention theres two different menus on different floors ! When we said we heard the Mexican food was great ! How rude ! I am outraged to see a whole other menu and it looks great I am not here often and I am confused why there is no name difference to the restaurants ! So I cant give a fair review because Ive never tried it ! But the one I did try was OK basic fun foods not the place I came for :-/

Ive been coming to SeaSide for over 25 years.......and Ive watched it all upgrade without losing value... Except tonight. Our family of 4 went upstairs for dinner. The entire dining room area was empty, bar was maybe half full... Outside seating (upstairs) was just starting to get busy. We were seated outside on the alley part upstairs - where there were 4 hostesses ready to seat us. Unfortunately we waited for over 10 minutes, attemped to get the attention of wait staff but were ignored. We (unfortunately) watched 2 other tables behind us get seated and orders taken... We were never noticed. Which was weird because there were at least 4-6 waitresses standing around chit chatting and several other bussers. We (4 of us) Got up and walked away, past the hostess that sat us and she said "have a great night". Now, normally I would give the hostess station an excuse because of the volume of people they had sat in 10 minutes... But there were only 2 other sets of people that were seated after us and No one else had left. We were happy to walk down stairs (where both bars were 3/4 of the way full) and be sat and taken care of immediately. In all my years of coming to Seaside, Ive never been so aggravated with such poor service.

Spicy Cantina is definitely a Mexican restaurant to remember. Their chips are not as ridiculously big as most places are, and their salsa is the perfect heat for my pallet. If I could rate 4.5 stars, I would. The strawberry virgin daiquiris was really good. It started to melt a little too, which really just put strawberry juice in the bottom and made it better. My entrée was the full order of beef soft tacos, and thats the only change I would have made. Not to my order, however. I ust would have made a different proportion. They were a good set of two tacos. Very flavorful, well seasoned. However, there was a LOT of stuff per tortilla. About 1/3 of the actual food fell off of each tortilla as I ate them. The sauce ran down my fingers and left a sticky trail on my palms. Spicy, thats the only change I would make to your restaurant from my experience today: take about 1/3 of the filling from each of the tacos and combine it on one more tortilla. Other than that, delicious food and friendly, smiling staff. Great work. :)

Stopped in here to grab some food while in the area and wanted to check this place out. Seemed pretty crowded but got the slight suspicion that people were more drinking than eating. Service was okay, although sitting outside, the waitress recommended we not get frozen margaritas even though we were dying for them since they would melt too quickly. Oh well, we ordered them anyway. The food here is typical selection of Mexican, although the street tacos I ordered contained weird shaped meat which not sure it was beef and the soft tacos and ground beef looked a bit nasty. Rice was disgusting with peas in it? Did not want to touch the refried beans and all that really was good here was the drinks. Prices were also a bit extreme for the nasty food you are served. I think you may want to skip this place and grab a slice of pizza instead. Least you know what you are getting.

I had such high expectations for this place, knowing the representation it has. The server approached us and acted as if she was bothered to retrieve our things we requested. She served us plastic cups of water while her other tables had glass waters with lemons. We waited over 40 minutes for our food. When we finally received our entrees, they were beyond bland with no taste at all. We requested boxes after losing our appetite and she brought us the wrong amount which did not fufill our needs. We then approached the manager about our experience and how unhappy and unsatisfied we were being new customers. Nothing was done to accommodate our experience and 18 percent was tacked on to our bill. Being a server, its right to receive gratuity on large parties that if you provide adequate service. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant and will not being going back.
