Ive been going here almost daily for the past 4 years, and now Im pretty much finished with this place. Although the coffee is decent and the store is nice enough, several of the employees are not trained well in proper food service practices. Last week, one particular employee at the register wiped his nose with his bare hand, and then used the same hand to pass me a cup and a lid. Today, this same employee, who looked like he was either sick or had about 3 hours of sleep and was rather disheveled, was scratching his hand through his hair, and undoubtedly planning to use that same hand to serve customers. I walked out. Ive long noticed that the cashiers here have a habit of touching the insides and "business surfaces" of the cups and lids, but I didnt think much of it because I gave them the benefit of the doubt on hand cleanliness. But now that I saw this repeat display by this new employee (and considering that they are also handling money), I doubt Ill be back unless Im desperate for a coffee. Even then Ill be sure to grab the cup myself.

Menu items are overpriced and the method in which they use to deliver customers their food is in dire need of modification. The customers name is asked for at the time of the order and then when their food is ready, an employee walks around calling out that persons name or just the order. I waited 45 minutes for an overpriced panini only to find out that it had been given away. Not once was I approached by an employee, nor did I hear my name. When I received my food, which I needed to-go at that point, it wasnt even what I ordered!!! They gave me a "free coffee" card for my next visit. I will not be returning.

Locale molto carino, pulito e tranquillo. Personale gentile e disponibile. Il caffè espresso Illy è buono, molto "italiano" ed il té ottimo. Tanti dolci gustosi tra cui scegliere. Ottimo per una piccola pausa con unamica o anche da soli.

This used to be an ok independent coffee shop, but its recently been transformed into a GREAT one! Focus with respect to food is on quality, not choice, but the quiches & baked goods & tea (I dont drink coffee) are outstanding. Really! They replaced an intensely noisy refrigerating display cabinet with nice new ones. Its now a pleasant place to work. Theres music — recently 80s alternative — but not too loud or intrusive. I hope more of Plainsboro improves like this!

Ive recently moved to Plainsboro. Coming from North Jersey, Im so used to Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks. Ive come to the Grind about 5 times now and it has not disappointed. Their coffee is the best Ive ever tasted as well as their quiche and snacks. And the staff and service is nothing but stellar. Keep up the good work guys!

Ordered a cuban panini and latte. The latte hardly had any espresso in it, which is simply unacceptable when one pays over $4 for one. The panini was mediocre at best and was served on a paper plate. Id expect this of a Panera but not a boutique coffee shop like this. Take your business elsewhere.

The food menu is kind of confusing and hard to read. The servers are friendly. It takes a little while for the drinks to be make, but they taste really good. The drinks are pretty expensive. The color of the store is a weird blue. Other than that, no complaints. Overall, I was pretty satisfied.

Changed ownership and with that, style. Much less focused on coffee now (they went from selling many single sourced beans to just Illy). Now specializing in baked goods(which are very good). Much more like a French cafe in than regard, but not what Id expect from a coffee house here.

Went there for the first time yesterday after a few months in town. Obviously the ambience is very cafe like/clean and staff are courteous and quick. Coffee left me very disappointed. Illy or anything else. Americano perhaps need to be sturdier in flavor?

Update April 16: Since they changed owners, The Grind has become much better but also more expensive (reg. americano now $3.45, $0.5 increase) Starbucks by comparison is only $2.95 for same drink. The new staff seems more motivated and faster.

Its a very average place with no real vibe one way or another. You should go here if you desperately need a coffee and youre in the area but I cant see another reason why you would.
