Have traveled an hour for many years to dine here!! Never had a bad meal, view is the absolute best whether it be a fabulous sunset or storm rumbling across the Delaware Bay, staff has been there for years, "Shirley and her Crew", so its like coming home for dinner! Great entertainment, so ecstatic they were able to open up again after the devastation of Sandy. The best kept secret in South Jersey. As for some negative comments Ive seen, if I was going for gluten free, Id have ordered broiled, but that being said, if there was a problem, I know they would have done anything to deliver what you could eat. Not all wait staff understand the intricacies of some diets so you need sometimes to be more explicit. I eat gluten free and have never had a problem or bad meal! Re price, welcome to the Jersey Shore! I live on the ocean side, nothing cheap here in the summer, overall, food, service, ambiance, entertainment, even the drive out there, #1. Be sure to look for spider man coming into and leaving Fortescue, hes always there!!!!

We ate here for the first time tonight. When I informed the waitress that i had a gluten allergy, she checked with the chef and they said that they had to alter the vegetables in my meal, but did not inform me that most of my broiled entree was breaded and that I would not be able to eat it. Leaving me with half a meal. The other folks in our party liked the scallops and shrimp, but found the rest of their meals horrible. To top it off, the bill total was $50 more than the actual cost. When the mistake was brought to the attention of the waitress, it was corrected, but then she (Im sure trying to be funny) stated that she thought that we "had money". We will not be going back.

This place is a hidden gem where the family cares about their customers.Now if youre looking for a ultra modern place then it might not be for you.But if youre looking for a family run place with great food and one of the most amazing views to be found in south NJ then this is it.Now as far as the complaint about the price,its not cheap but it is a GREAT value for the money and probably the most affordable waterfront place Ive been in SNJ.

Great place off the beaten pass the view of the Bay is spectacular! The service and food were great and it is a BYOB so can get yourself a designated driver...or better yet get a room and stay over! There is a lot too do in the area. There is the local Oyster museum in Port Norris where NJ Tall ship resides and goes out on cruises.

The charlesworth was awesome! We got married on the deck...and a nice sit down dinner for 30 people. Everyone enjoyed their food...the sunset! Thanks so much for everything!
