Ive never been treated in such a disrespectful environment. Cursing, crude jokes/remarks, inappropriate behavior, and whats worse was that this was in front of my children. One of the employees was on there break just laying on the seat, stomach exposed, lounging around on one of the booths. My children and I sat near a vent in the back of the restaurant which must have connected to the back of the restaurant where workers were only allowed. Through the vent I could hear cursing and obnoxious laughing. After noticing that other customers were feeling uncomfortable, as I was, I decided to speak up and ask the boys politely if they could stop cursing and what do they do when I back down? Start talking about me! I expected a nice time with my kids at a restaurant, not some hangout between employees. I do not recommend this place. Either sit outside or dont go.

Not the best hot dogs in New Jersey, but probably the best hot dogs on the shore. I was lucky to grow up a couple of minutes from Windmill and get my hot dog fix many, many times here. The dogs are cooked on a griddle and come blazing hot and crispy - the kind of hot dog that snaps when you bite into it. I know other hot dog joints get their hot dogs from brands such as Schickhaus, but I believe Windmill makes their own hot dogs for their restaurants. I also enjoy the fried mushrooms, cheese fries, and chicken tenders - all carry this indescribable yet recognizable Windmill taste to them that somehow makes them even better. The place isnt the nicest looking or the cleanest, but real NJ hot dog joints dont focus on the atmosphere - they focus on the food. The bottom line is, if you want a hot, snappy dog, this is the place to go around this area.

for sanitary reasons they turn the stools upside down and place them on the table tops every night. or maybe that is not so sanitary when you stop to think about it. weenies and milk shakes and, yes, you guessed it, fries soaked in grease. not a lot of repeat customers, but the image of the windmill keeps drawing moths to the flame.

Used to be the best of the best, is now over priced, and awful... service e was a total joke, burgers are half the size of what they used to be, and the hotdogs skin so tuff that you had to saw it with a knife to get though to the meat... really disappointed
