We were part of a party so I cannot speak to the smaller groups just joining for dinner but I have never heard anything bad of this establishment. I believe the place was accommodating to our hosts request, allowing to decorate and bring in a cake. The food was decent. We were told by our host prior to arrival that since we had a separate room, that this would be a limited menu. The menu had zero pricing on it and was built to make you think you pick an app, salad, and entree. I asked the waiter and he said to "pick an app, salad, and entree". I also clarified with the waiter I would need a separate check for my wife and I and he said he thought this was all together but could look into it. He already had a tab running for our drinks so I assumed this would not be an issue. When they delivered one large check to the table and individual checks for everyones drinks it things were finally put into perspective. The apps we $15 each, salads, $20 each, entrees $25-35 each. Had this been communicated we would have forgone at least one of these if not both. At the end of the night we had a $140 bill (as did many other couples of our party of 25 + kids). They did finally agree to split up the checks after all but the lack of communication made for this a very long (took 45 minutes to split the checks and deliver a bill) drawn out process. In the end the establishment would be a 4 out of 5 and is much nicer inside that the building appears. Food was a 3 out of 5. Communication 1 out of 5. If you are having a banquet or party here make sure you get all the details first.

After many wonderful lunches and dinners throughout the years at Mountain View Chalet, my wife and I just had our daughters wedding celebration there; and since our previous experiences were far above par, it was a no brainer. And were so glad we did! Demos and Jimmy run a top notch establishment. Demos explained our options with great clarity. He made us feel like royalty. He couldnt do enough for us. Nothing was overlooked so that there would be no surprises on the big day. When it came, there wasnt anything that could have been done any better. The food was fabulous, hot and plentiful. So many of our guest raved about it. The service was phenomenal. The wait staff were attentive, very friendly, accommodating...absolutely wonderful in every way. The desert table was heavenly - light, delicious cakes, cookies, and fresh fruit. Coffee was served hot and at the appropriate time so that it was there at the same time as desert...not before or after. Demos (and Jimmy) deserve our gratitude, praise, and every superlative for the fine job they did for us. And all at a very reasonable price.

....mothers day brunch 2010; 27.95/person-found this to be false. as we were charged for coffee and oj. french toast was stale/old/cold. beef stew/goulash was akin to a baseball mitt, sausage was overcooked. lots of eggs and poofy bread - poorly baked pastries. salmon also way way overcooked. butter was sour,ive had sourdough, but sour butter? fresh fruit was mostly oranges and a few grapes. salad was ok. no soft music,so dinner talk was whispered-hushed... service was poor as the silverware was removed when we went for round 2. three people for over a hundred.......,food was not up to par, and its only breakfast -then charging additional for coffee and oj?.go elsewhere.

My family and i have had several visits and they have all been positive, My parents had their 50th Anniversary party here and everything went off without a hitch! This was in 2010. Our last visit was on 12/28/2014 to celebrate my birthday which was on 12/22/2014. The one thing to my surprise was our waiters elevator was not going to the top floor. We will be back again !

We had our daughters baptism at this hall. It was modestly priced but the level of service and attentiveness by the owner and staff were second to none. All of of guests had an amazing time and most importantly enjoyed the food. We were very satisfied with this establishment and would highly recommend it.

This is my favorite restaurant in all of NJ. The prices are on the higher side but you get what you pay for. Their food is absolutely outstanding. Their fish is fresh! I cant recommend this place enough. Give it a try.

Friendly owners,, friendly staff and very good food . I had the strip steak a la Chalet. The peppers, onions along with mushrooms and other spices opens your taste buds. Beautiful bar and decor. Cant wait to go back.
