Went with my girlfriend (C) and another friend (M), for lunch. (C) ordered a Tavern Mountain Salad, I ordered a Northfield burger, (M) ordered a chicken dish whose name escapes me. The waiter was polite and friendly but also new and clearly a little overwhelmed. He appeared to be taking care of several tables in different zones, and he seemed to be feeling the pressure. Ms chicken dish was ordered with a sIde of garlic mashed potato, which we were then informed the kitchen was not prepared to make. Switching to rice pilaf, that was also not available. The waiter offered fries, so she went with those, as did I, because fries and burgers kind of go together (and it seemed to be the only side they were prepared to make). Food: Fries. The "fries" are actually not-crispy potato chips. That is, they are sliced like chips, a little thicker, but served soft, like fries. As far as I could tell, they were unseasoned and tasted like...well, thinly sliced, slightly soggy potato. Both C and I ordered our meats medium. The both arrived very much well done, completely brown in the middle. Not even close. Luckily, the burger managed to maintain some flavor despite being overcooked. That was probably thanks to the bacon and the cheese. It was not thanks to the barbecue sauce, which despite being part of the burger, was not provided. I had totally forgotten about the BBQ sauce until after the meal when C mentioned it. Since I had eaten, I didnt bother complaining about it. My "fries" were delayed, so they gave me a side of "cucumber salad" to hold me over (the burger would have done that, but it was a nice thought). It tasted like cucumber water, mostly. Completely unremarkable and absolutely unnecessary. Whats especially odd about the cucumber salad is that they also dumped a bowl of it into a little pile in my girlfriends salad, where it absolutely did not belong. Who puts a salad in another salad? Its like they were just dying to get rid of it, which I can understand. Its hard to imagine a less interesting thing to eat. Finally, there was a long brown hair wrapped around the broccoli garnish on my plate. Now, I realize that the odds of anyone eating a (possibly raw, it was very firm) broccoli with their burger and fries is pretty slim...but its even less likely when its wrapped in brown hair. Brown bacon, maybe. Verdict: Id like to believe this was just growing pains. They may have opened before they were fully staffed and ready, which would explain the lack of ability to serve mashed potatoes. Maybe the cooks are new, and dont know what "medium" is, or havent mastered the equipment yet. Unfortunately, its clear that nobody is checking the food for quality or proper cook before it leaves the kitchen. Or theyre awful at it. The menu was too big for a Saturday lunch, in my opinion, which might have contributed to its poor execution. A one-page lunch menu would be much easier to handle, especially if they dont have the staff isnt up to speed yet, or fully manned. In any case, I wont be back here unless someone I know and trust tells me its improved.

We use to go there all the time under previous owners. However the last time was a month ago and they charged me $7.00 for a Guinness. ??? My wife asked the male bar tender if he would put together a variety of deep fried veggies. He rudely said no and said I have worked with the cook long enough " I" dont have to ask. Then she asked for something else I dont recall what, rude again. We wont be back. We generally tip 20% or more. I must admit Ive never stiffed a server. I thought about it this day , but I left him a 25cent tip .

My wife and I have been here a number of times! The food has been great and keeps getting better. The waitstaff is very attentive and fast. The menu offering are soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches to seafood chicken and steaks. There apps are awesome and I personally Love the Prime Rib that has a delicious Au jus. The best part is the prime rib is available every evening!! Save room for some yummy desserts.... Large portions and very fair prices! Enjoy!!!

Had appetizers and drinks the second night they were open in the bar. The wait staff was very accommodating my stuffed mushrooms were okay and the wifes potato skins/chips left much to be desired. The owner made a rockn first drink for the wife as the bartender didnt know how to make it. We each ordered a second drink, made by the bartender which were lackluster to be kind. Weve tried to go back for a meal on a couple occasions but the lot was packed.

Nice to see they treat their customers so well for the most part. They arent nice to their neighbors. Or maybe its just me! Lol. Upon moving in they removed all of the bittersweet vines that had spent years growing on and near my fence also doing a bunch of damage to the fence in the process without asking.
