Wow.. I just ate here today for the first time (lunch). I had my doubts because I am not a super fan of BBQ, but my co-worker encouraged me to try it and said there were other things beside BBQ on the menu. I had the regular burger, sweet potato fries and the jalapeno poppers for an app.. I would have to rate the burger as being one of the BEST burgers in town and for only 6.99. The sweet potato fries were an extra large portion and had just the right amount of crisp to them. It must be a hidden gem in downtown Utica, with prices like that, and the quality of the food, I would be expecting to stand in line to be seated. Since I wrote this review I have been back 2 more times and tried a variety of different things on the menu.. Mac & cheese was awesome.. the white chicken chili was the best I ever had.. and I had to have the burger again.. forgot to add that thats a $10 + burger at any other restaurant. Your prices are more than reasonable for such high quality food and large portions.. !! Sevice was great wish I could remember the girl that waited on us.. but she had green highlights in her hair.. super sweet and great service!

We visited Hogs Hollow yesterday evening for the first time. I wasnt as pleased as I had thought, after several recommendations from friends and family. First, they were out of brisket. So my husband ordered the BLT which wasnt as described on the menu. The bread looked like store bought and the sandwich was just basically thrown together. We chose not to pick it apart at that point but I am pretty sure it was just bacon and bread. I ordered the nachos with pulled chicken, which came out somewhat cold with minimal chicken. The childrens menu items were decent as were the fried pickles. The barbecue sauces were very tasty also. The beers were not cold at all and the bartender forgot mine. He later realized, brought it out and then still charged me for it. I would say the the service was average and should have been excellent seeing as were were the only diners in the establishment. Hoping that this was just a bad night after a busy weekend..... Not sure if I would return...

The Hogs Hollow, located right in the heart of downtown Shelby Township, has a friendly waitstaff and pleasant atmosphere in which to enjoy a nice night out on the town. They have an upstairs bar section, but it wasnt open on the evenings Ive been here. Their food was pretty good, but there are certainly better places in the Detroit area to get smoked meat! If you do check out the Hogs Hollow, be sure to get the Hog Balls, which are baseball-size doughballs full of pulled pork, peppers & onions, and melted cheese! Yum!

Service can make or break any restaurant, the food was really good, loved the mac n cheese, pulled pork, ribs and chicken, but the service was AMAZING! Our server/bartender made great suggestions, answered all of our first time questions and stayed right on top of everything without being intrusive. Would give 6 stars but the chili and coleslaw were not very good. Being a restaurant manager myself at a different type of restaurant I notice service right off the bat, and am normally disappointed, but she blew me away!

Cass Bar is amazing. I have been there at least 5 times. The service is amazing! They are friendly, personable, and eager to make your stay there comfortable. The building is beautiful too! Every inch is covered in Christmas lights that change color. The food is off the charts amazing! The chef pays a lot of attention to detail and flavor. Some of my favorite dishes so far are the Hog Rolls, Turkey Burger, and Fried Green Tomatoes. Cass bar is a must! I definitely fell in love at first bite!

Ate there a few weeks ago. I will say that the Mac & Cheese was the best I ever had. As far as the BBQ is concerned.....I dont know of many BBQ smokehouses where you cant smell hickory when you walk in the front door. That should have been my first warning. Pulled pork had no smoke flavor whatsoever. You walk into Bad Brads or Slows downtown and you know right away youre in an authentic BBQ restaurant because you can smell the hickory. Food wasnt terrible but wasnt worth the drive either.

To me...this is not a BBQ Restaurant. This place is a bar that happens to serve smoked, BBQd meat and various side items. The meat is strongly smoked. Their prices are rather high and their serving sizes pretty small. Their drink prices are high, as well, and the bar does charge a "pour fee" automatically to your bill for pouring liquor. Would not recommend this place if you are looking for something affordable, or bang for your buck.

Met the owner a few days ago at the barber shop near his business and was very personable so I decided to go there today with a co-worker and had some good food and tasty beers. Oktoberfest is going on this weekend and they have a tent outside. Google needs to update the street view cuz its not anywhere near the present view. Im sure well be back to try the other beers on tap. Cheers!

I love BBQ, but I was disappointed with this place. The waitress we had was very slow and screwed up 4 of our 5 orders. We sat up stairs, and it was freezing!!! We asked them to turn the heat up to some thing north of 40 degrees... Well the staff couldnt figure out the thermostat... I had to get up and set the temp to 69 for them.... Overall the whole place looked rather neglected...

Stopped in for lunch, split a Slab of ribs with my kids and enjoyed the smokehouse mac n cheese as well as the sweet potato fries. Enjoyed the hot BBQ sauce with Carolina Reapers, daughter enjoyed the RocknRye sauce, and son favored the Honey Chipotle sauce. Staff was friendly and everything was perfect. Will definitely return for more.

Amazing Sunday brunch! Staff is always very accommodating. They go out of the way to make us happy. This last weekend they didnt have any cornbread ready to go for us, but in a flash made some Johnny cakes up. With the honey butter they were even better than what I had hoped for. Can we make the Johnny cakes a regular brunch item?

The hog balls were pretty good. The mac n cheese was okay, nothing special. The ribs were absolutely horrible. They were rubbery, not cooked, fatty, and even the dry rub tasted horrible. But at least the service was kinda nice. I would not recommend this place to ANYONE. Me and my family had a better experience at Burger King
