Went to Old School Deli on a Thursday mid morning, no cars in the parking lot ? As we were waiting for our breakfast, a man walked in and was seated in the booth next to us. We had our coffee, and bowl of fruit (which was canned fruit cocktail, thought it might have been fresh fruit since fruit is in season now), waitress came up to my husband and told him they were out of sausage links, would he like something else? He said sausage patties, they were also out of that. He went with bacon. As we continued to wait, the man in the booth was joined by another man, and the first gentleman was served his breakfast. I guess omelets are quicker to make than eggs over medium. After our third cup of coffee, we decided that was enough. Asked the waitress for our bill for the coffee, she asked why. Explained we had waited over 1/2 hour, the man that came in after us was served before us. Then the second man in the booth popped up, and said the coffee was on him (I guess he was the owner), and suddenly our breakfast was ready. By then we were no longer interested in eating there. We said no, we were leaving. The second man, commented in a smart ass way, "I hope you enjoy your drive thru McDonalds" I told him anything is better than no food or service.

My boyfriend had been wanting to try this place out for while. What a disappointment. We both had breakfast, the eggs were great, but he ordered the corned beef hash. It was tiny pieces of chopped up lunch meat under sliced translucent over fried potatoes. The sausages patties I received with my breakfast I wouldnt even categorize as a meat product. The juice and condiments were off brand products too, you could tell by the overwhelming taste of vinegar in the ketchup. Overall a disappointment, maybe the lunch is better, but I wouldnt go back for breakfast again, and they are over priced as well. The positives were the service was very good, and she was very attentive. I see several 5 star post several months ago, confused by the decline in the quality of the food, maybe they had a management change.

I HIGHLY recommend this place on the east side in Roseville, on Groesbeck just south of 13 mile. We all just got back from here, the sandwiches were really, really good, and the omelets were outstanding! The onion rings and the fries were very good, also. Everything is homemade, and you can tell. The service is great, also! Will definitely be going back. UPDATE: 8-23-14 Ate here again, this time for breakfast. Excellence again! The biscuits and gravy were really, really good according to Matt, and I can vouch for him (he gave me a taste...yum).This place is kind of easy to miss if youre just driving down Groesbeck, but worth going out of your way for. Sorry for the photo of the half-eaten breakfast, couldnt wait! ;)

My wife and I just returned from here and as the previous reviewers say this place is the bomb. The breakfast is all homemade from the hash browns to the biscuit gravy. The owner and the waitress are as in the name old school, the conversation was genuinely attentive. The portions were plentiful, and made from scratch. And finally the prices are cheap to the amount of food you get. One word of advice its location is kind of set back from Groesbeck Hwy, with the parking lot is in front of the restaurant, between two buildings, so keep your eye out for the sign. Do yourself a favor go !!!!

Amazing homemade breakfast!!! From scratch biscuits, sausage gravy, English muffins, and more. The hash browns and great( dont even need salt or pepper) the eggs Benedict are there best we found in Michigan. Basically everything we had was homemade and full of flavor! Not only that but the service was great as well, owner was funny, and made you feel like your sitting in your old family kitchen! Great atmosphere and food! Would recommend this place to anyone!!!

Horrible service I ordered a cornbeef sandwich from the website menu 1st the prices on the site are not the correct prices in the actual restaurant. My sandwich was very small not what i exspected and when i asked for a refund I was refused. I WILL never return and also inform my coworkers as well.

Two trips to Old School Deli in a week. I tried the Corned Beef trip 1 and the Pastrami trip 2. Both trips were enjoyable. Lean tender meat coupled with friendly service. They do some kind of special seasoning on the french fries which makes them very tasty! Give this place a try!

Excellent food made fresh daily. Had the pastrami kid, meat was smoked fresh in house seasoning on point didnt over power the meat. Onion ring cut per order and lightly battered. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the food. A hidden gem worth checking out.

This place is friendly and clean! I really like the fresh made soups here. The corn beef and pastrami sandwiches are magical! Im pretty sure they smoke their own pastrami, its like no other delis in town. Ive even been here for breakfast and that was good too.

The staff and food here are simply amazing. I havent had a bad meal here ever. Steve (the owner) truly loves what he does and works to get to know each customer. Hell even offer trials of recipes they are working on. Simply GO there and enjoy it all.

To call them Hash browns is a crime. They are sliced potatoes fried in a pan. Steve the owner suggested putting onions in with it. They turned out perfect. The country fried steak and eggs were awesome too.

Garbage. Order cornbeef hash with over easy eggs. What i get is chunks of left over ham mixed in with potatoes and hard fried eggs. Only thing they got right is the toast
