Lets get something straight: Oceana Inn is not Chinese food. It, like nearly every other Chinese restaurant in America, is Chinese-American food. You would be hard-pressed to find most of their menu in an actual restaurant in China, but youre not looking for actual Chinese food because, likely, you dont actually know what it is. Oceana Inn does their type of food better than any other establishment in the area. They produce the soul food of Chinese cuisine: a simple, greasy smörgåsbord of breading and cheap cuts of meat. I love this. I love this like Id love a supermodel. The Inn lets me get what I want at a good price. It gives me the cheesy mid-1970s atmosphere of the "Mystic Orient." It offers me a home when Im too drunk or too miserable to go anywhere else, and it fills my belly with happiness and warmth. Buddha smiles on you, Oceana Inn, and I do, too.

Was here for dinner. Place looked a little tachy, but I am not interested in decor, I am interested in food. There were many options available on the menu, but I am gluten free, so I am looking for options without flour. Wontons, made with rice paper, I found out they make with flour... Not very authentic. Their where a lot of things normally made without flour, they they go for the cheaper option, flour. The food tasted fine, but they could have done better. Probably wont go again or recommend to a friend.

I dont think Ive ordered anything that did not taste good. Their crab wonton has crab & not all cream cheese. There is a (salty) lobster dish served in a pie plate that is out of this world. Everything is hot & fresh. General Tso: good. Chicken chop suey: good (has thin noodles). Pork fried rice, chicken & broccoli, chicken &green bean, Mongolian beef...Ive had take out as well & they are prompt. You can get a discount if you have cash...

Our experience was disappointing. The "healthy vegetable" curry looked like vomit. The vegetables were a couple of pieces of broccoli, several big chunks of green pepper, and some onions that were swimming in a sea of gelatinous goo. The spring rolls were greasy. Brown rice was good. Having recommended this restaurant to my family, I was embarrassed and disappointed. Will not try Oceania Inn again.

Last time I ate there was actually in 1978! I moved out of state and havent been back :( But back then I loved to go to this place, they use to have great lunch specials. I almost always ordered almond chicken, and I havent had such a good dish in the last 39 years. My mouth is watering just thinking of it. Nothing around here(Seattle) can hold a candle to it. Just fake Asian or Vietnamese around here.

Oceania Inn has been a favorite of the locals in Rochester Hills for over 30 years! My family has been ordering takeout from here since we moved to this side of town in 1990! For all of these years, Oceania Inn has offered delectable combination packages of everyones favorite Chinese entrees, enough to feed an army, for a great deal!

This is a good value for money place with some really nice options. Though not authentic Chinese, youd love the spicy nature of all the items here. They have some really good lunch options which can be as low as $4.95 for a meal ! My personal favorite is the Almond Chicken which they provide with some kind of mysterious yellow sauce.

Went here with my wife last night for date night. We waited forever to be served between courses. The soup was good the beef dumplings were great. Egg rolls were so so.Then the entrees came out we took 2 bites and wanted to walk out. Then waited 20 mins for the boxes we didnt want and another 10 for the bill so we could leave.

Oceania Inn winnin it, General Tao killing it, Whether or not the chefs visa is legitimate. Veggie egg rolls stuffed like a dough boys pocket, Gave my dog a bite, he blasted off his red rocket. The sweet n sour sauce straight tossed my gobs. Better than your Ma when she be givin me slobs. Ya her me?

Been coming here off and on for about 10 years, and its excellent. If you prefer a slightly spicy variety (like me), go with the General Tao or Orange Chicken dishes. Great lunch and dinner specials too, and most people Ive dined with leave quite satisfied - often with a little extra to take home.

Lunch specials are awesome for a college student on a budget. Im pretty sure they just pour the sauce on their fried chicken to make the various recipes (at least for the lunch special) as it doesnt t taste quite the same as the full on tray, but not bad nonetheless especially for the price!

Authentic Chinese food is beginning to find a place on the Oceania menu. We have always found the food to be enjoyable, the service good to excellent, and the prices quite reasonable. This is not a fine dining place with die-for decor, but it is certainly comfortable and pleasant.

Ive always loved this Chinese restaurant. Best egg drop soup and best egg rolls. Orange chicken is always good too. I havent tried a whole lot of their menu but there was only one time I didnt like what I ordered. Waitstaff is always friendly too which is extremely important to me.

Oceania Inn is one of my favorite spots for American Chinese food. The staff here is always pleasant and my carryout never took long to get prepared. The price is right for what you get as well. I have never had a poor experience here.

Excellent service, checked on us several times. Almond chicken had a nice coating, not too thick, moist chicken, not greasy. Fried rice and egg drop soup was tasty. Ice cream comes with dinner, nice treat. Will be back soon!

Food was good, but when we asked for more rice at the end of the meal...to make sure we all (5) had some to take with our left overs... she charged us extra. The other server never did that.

Oceana continues to be my favorite place for Chinese food. Not something that I eat very frequently however if I am going to eat Chinese, there is no reason to go anywhere but Oceana.

General tao chicken was not good at all. Unlike any Ive ever had. Like tough chicken nuggets with a weird sauce dumped on them. Very generic. Egg roll was ok. Server was very nice.

On my way home from work in Rochester I pick up dinner to take home in Clio. Clio doesnt have any good Chinese restaurants that I would recommend to anyone. Oceania has great food.

This is my mothers favorite Chinese place. I will say I ordered the moo-shu pork and it came with tortilla shells instead of whatever the other Chinese places use.

If you think this is good you dont know Chinese food, the lo mein noodles are the cheap angel hair kind and have no remnant of Chinese sauces or flavor, very bland
