I am writing this review for anyone new to or unfamiliar with the area. My family eats here fairly often and the food is ALWAYS good. The vegetables are fresh and cooked perfectly You wont get shot walking to or from your car as this area is quite safe. This is a happily family run business who are accomodating and friendly. People who were upset the server never talked to them needs to understand that in their culture it isnt customary to give a down home Southern Paula Deen experience. The mom is always dressed up nice; sometimes in traditional clothing. In contrast this isnt a fancy corporate run chain restaurant. They use an out of the way booth or two to store supply boxes. The daughter uses a booth to do her homework. The salt and pepper shakers may or may not match but these things are what tips you off it is a family run business. They just add to the charm. When my family eats here we feel as though we have been invited into their home to have a home cooked meal. Eat here and enjoy the experience.

Ordered dinner for 4. Was told 30 minutes. An hour and 20 minutes later we got our food. Several people had waited up to 2 hours for their takeout order yet every order called in over the phone while I was waiting the lady gave a time of 20 to 30 minutes instead of being honest about the wait time. When we got the order it was wrong (chicken instead of beef) but was not worth the hassle to return it and wait another 90 minutes to get the correct food. The food we did get could be described as mediocre at best. Honestly, just find somewhere else to eat. Eventually someone will open a decent Chinese restaurant in the area like Carrie Lees in Orion. Until then I will make the 35 minute drive to Orion to get good Chinese food.

Our kids really wanted chinese food last night. We normally go to Empress of China in Flint, but didnt want to drive all the way back there from Lapeer. We tried China House and were VERY disappointed. The place was filthy, the girl who was the waitress/clerk didnt talk to us, there were boxes piled up where booths should be. My 2 year old was antsy so I took him for a walk and my husband said someone (working there) was sleeping on a booth under a bunch of boxes! The bathroom was filthy. We ended up taking the food home and it was okay. The crab rangoon was overcooked and dry, the egg rolls really had no taste. The cashew chicken was tasty, though. We will not return, too bad, good location.

So we ordered from here tonight We got lo mein noodles General tsos chicken Egg drop soup Wonton soup Crab rangoons And an egg roll Well I guess Ill start off positive the General tso chicken was very good! The rice that came with it was not the greatest. The lo mein noodles were cooked very will the veggies were prepared nicely but it was so bland My bf said the egg drop soup was very good and he would buy it again and I wish I could say the same about my wonton soup. The broth was oily tasting and the filling tasted exactly like a brat. The crab rangoons seemed over cooked and kinda stail. So I guess we had a so-so experience. If your used to really good Chinese I wouldnt recommend

My husband and I tried it last night. We ordered the "Dinner for Two" which includes General Tsos Chicken, Sweet n Sour Chicken, Chicken fried rice, and two egg rolls for $19.95. We also ordered Crab Rangoon and egg drop soup. It was a great deal for the portion sizes. The only reason Im giving it 3 stars is because the restaurant could use some cleaning/renovating and because the Sweet n Sour Chicken was the buffet version (Fried Chicken nuggets with a side of sweet n sour sauce) instead of the style I was expecting (chicken cooked in the sauce with veggies). Overall it was tasty food and Im sure Ill order again!

That stinks that a few people had bad experiences with this place... because I have had nothing but AWESOME experiences here. Every time I order carry-out, the food is ready right when they said it would be (the last 2 times, they were bringing the food to the counter as I walked in). The food is ready 15-20 minutes after you call in the order even at their busiest. You can also get a ton of food for a very low price (spent $15 and that was enough to feed me for 3 meals). With every order, they have given me at least 3-4 free egg rolls as well. The crab rangoon and General Tsos combo platter are my favorites :)

How could anyone call this food good. I have been ordering Kung Po Chicken at various Chinese restaurants for years. This place puts "beer nuts" instead of regular peanuts on their entrees! Who wants sugary honey roasted "beer nuts" on their Chinese food? Ordered some "pot stickers" and there was ice in the middle. They didnt even offer to reheat or replace the two we had on our plate when we discovered they were cold. This is absolutely the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten and when I told the manager she said I should let them know I dont like honey roasted nuts the next time. WHAT NEXT TIME? DUH!

We have been going here for several years. Weather it is take out or dine in we have always had a a good experience. The food is yummy and the staff is friendly. Love their shrimp rolls, egg drop soup and kung po beef. I did read the review of the person unhappy with boxes around and someone sleeping. Must have been there the same night we were. I was told they had several people out with the flu and were down to only 2 people working the floor and kitchen, We chose to overlook the boxes considering they could have just closed the doors for the day but they chose to work and serve still very good food.

My family and I tried take out from here for the very first time this week and I was so happy. Kids got sweet and sour chicken and they loved it. It wasnt soggy, it was crunchy and delicious. I ordered the mei fun and it was exactly what i wanted. It had the little rice noodles and clean not greasy. The only thing i didnt care for were the egg rolls. They were a little too peppery. But over all very very pleased.

I have been to China House a few times, and they have always been courteous, quick, and quality. The food is reasonably priced and delicious. When I order they often throw in free stuff because they always have specials running, its a nice surprise to find some crab rangoons tossed in (yum!). They easily stack up against any Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten at.

I dont understand all these bad reviews Ive never had one problem with them Always on time, never had to wait more than five extra minutes to get the food. The girl who works there is friendly along with everyone else. Its not dirty theres only one booth that is a little messy and thats not where they have customers sit Foods always on point aswell.

China House is a pretty good American- Chinese restaurant. Their fried dumplings and crab rangoon are particularly good. I also like their chicken fried rice. Their General Tsos chicken has a thicker, sweeter, and not so spicy sauce that isnt exceptional, but it’s not bad. The chicken cuts are good though theyre a bit too battered for my taste.
