I had always been a fan of "Wings Over (insert city here)" ever since they invaded Brookline nearly a decade ago. They were a go-to staple of mine when going out with friends as the chicken was tender, delicious and the numerous sauces were all a hit. They werent all that healthy, but it was college... Then the quality went downhill about 6 years ago and being more health conscious as well, I decided to go there only occasionally. Now I live far away enough from any location to only go there once a year, if that. Last night was such a night. Two friends of mine and I, fresh from a trip to the nearby Aeronaut Brewery decided to walk over to this location to get us some wings to go. I ordered a DC-10, which is about a pound of chicken. This option is great because you can get two sauces instead of one. Fast forward a couple of minutes and we all placed our orders and waited... and waited... and wait. Then my friends order finally came even though he ordered after me. Eventually mine came about fifteen minutes after that. No apologies or nothing from the staff. We must have stood there for nearly forty minutes. We were good sports and never said a thing to the staff, but they clearly didnt care. They were too busy dicking around behind the counter, talking, texting and ignoring everything else going on around them. They werent rude or anything but they clearly didnt care. I didnt touch my wings until I got back home to Waltham. I was super excited to get my two favorite flavors: Mustang Ranch and West Texas Mesquite, which are both dry rubs. I also paid extra for the celery and extra blue cheese which they were more than happy to nickel and dime me for. I knew that coming in though so I cant argue that. Excited, I got home, kicked my shoes off, turned on the TV and opened the styrofoam container. It smelled great but then I took a bite. And another. And then realized that this was so incredibly salty that it was basically inedible. It tasted like salt. Salt and a bit of the dry rubs. It was so salty that it was almost as if I was chewing on ramen seasoning packets. I tried to douse my wings in as much blue cheese sauce as possible to try and get them down but only managed to eat about 3-4 wings and threw out the rest. Im not 100% sure what happened to the quality of this chain but its been going downhill for a while now and theres no sign of them turning anything around. Theyve become complacent and frankly, even though their chicken is top notch, the sauces and dry rubs have become garbage. Id be hard pressed to return again. Its a shame really as their various offerings are enticing and their sauces are varied and unique enough that it could keep people coming back for more. But not me, Ive learned my lesson now. Every time I return, I just end up disappointed and missing the good old days from about 8 or 9 years ago when they were awesome. Its a shame.

Do Not Order From Here!!!! Lets see, my FIRST call was around 11:45 pm. On 5/6/16 They picked up listened for a minute and hung up. Thought maybe it was me so I called again. Same thing happens. Now Im thinking okay something isnt right. So I try again and of course the same thing happens again. Im annoyed, decide to not order from there. Then said F that. I want my golden Bbq wings! So around 1am I called again. I mean they are open until 2. The lady picks up, very annoyed asks me to hold on. Doesnt wait & puts me on hold. Once 5min past I just waited to see how long theyd keep me on hold. After 4min I was done anyways. They kept me on hold for a good 10 minutes! I knew she wasnt going to pick up. Clearly they were avoiding delivery calls. Such a horrible way to run a business. The management is horrible so you cant even speak to anyone there with any real work ethic or sense. Completely turned me off from the place and I was a frequent flyer. They wont get another dime from me.

I really want to give Wings Over Somerville 5 stars. I absolutely *love* their food. The problem is actually getting the food. Weve ordered from Wings Over Somerville probably a dozen times in the last year. Our food was hot, on time, and correct exactly twice. Every other time, they either delivered to the wrong city or gave our food to the wrong house. Our average wait for actually getting food from this place is 2 1/2 hours, at which point we are usually really hungry and irritated. They always offered to make us new, hot food and deliver it (read: make us another hour hungrier), but never offered a discount of any kind or any sign that they are even trying to do better. "Remake it and send it back out" works at a restaurant. It doesnt work when you have a 1 hour turnaround on delivering the food. So, regrettably, I am done with Wings Over Somerville.

Not sure how this store can vary so incredibly much from the others, but they are awful. The food is what brings people back, and they know it. The customer service sucks most of the time. They will continually mess up orders, even on a remake. Ive had to wait an additional 30 mins on a pickup that I was given a 15-20 min wait time, only to find out once I asked for the 3rd time, that it was just sitting in the back on a shelf. I dont get delivery from here because if you do get your correct order it will surely be cold. Management is in over their head apparently, probably from all the corrections they have to do on a daily basis. I dont normally write reviews, but if you want to avoid the constantly shitty service to (hopefully) get what you actually ordered, in a timely manner, Id recommend going elsewhere. But that just me.

I always loved the WINGS restaurant. But I have finally had enough with the one ESPECIALLY in Somerville. Besides the fact every time I say to cook my chicken well done. ..it comes out god knows what... Delivery takes hours....and just like I learned the other day, Sometimes they DONT show up at all!!!! Which I found was definitely the last straw...cause a business cant be that unorganized or unprofessional. Not to mention I spent all night waiting for something to eat so I went to bed hungry. SO THANK YOU FOR NOTHING!!!!!! Then I call the next day to speak to the manager and all she did was say sorry and wondering what else to do. Well heres a suggestion. Take on your role, get that place organized and I dont know maybe just CLOSE DOWN the place. Never have been so DISPLEASED in my life!!!!!!!

This is the first negative review I have ever posted. On 3/13 around 10:00pm this place charged me for wings then did not deliver them. When I tried to call an hour later to get a refund they put me on hold for ten minutes then when I called back they did not talk to me but kept saying please hold. I called from a friends phone and got them to answer (because it was a different number) then the girl just stopped speaking. As of now I have not been refunded my money and got no wings. I have never seen anything like it. They took my money and did not give me food. Then closed for the night. Basically if they get your credit card number they may charge you and give you no product.
