We had dinner for reservations for 8 in the Board room after my grandpas funeral. The reservations were made two weeks in advance and we called 30 minutes prior to confirm they were still a go. After showing up we were seated at a 6 person table and assured they always fit 8 people there. We were confused because this was not the board room and we wanted a quite family meal without all the commotion. After talking to the host and then the manager and trying to sort this situation out apparently a business group booked the whole room which overrides anyone elses reservations. We were told there is nothing they can do about it and that is corporate policy, this was a major bummer especially on this sad day. We went over to the Dolphin in natick where we got top nodge service and our waiter had previously worked at legal seafoods back in the day and only had negative comments. This restaurant has horrible policies is very unorganized and the manager and staff lacks the competence to refer-mend the situation. To put the cherry on top we had purchased gift cards for this restaurant which could not be refunded right then and requires a longer process.

Three of us had dinner on 1/21/10 at the Framingham location. One of our party had had a somewhat less than enjoyable experience the last time she ate there and had been given a gift certificate to use on a future visit. When the waitress found out about it, she apologized for what happened the last time and promised that this visit would be better. And it was!! She was an excellent server who was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. She even came running out to my car at the end of the night to give me the money ($40) that had accidentally fallen out of my pocket onto the floor under my chair. I was very appreciative of this effort on her part. One last thing: this was the first time I ever saw a dinner receipt split up by guest. The receipt listed the food and drink for each guest and subtotled it. What an awesome idea. Made it so simply to see what everyone owed.

The food here is Ok. Coming from the Bay Area Im already spoiled with excellent seafood. So, unless its really bad then all the good seafood taste similar too me. Cant really tell the chowder from this fine Boston restaurant compared to the chowder you can buy from SF Fisherman Wharf. I would rate this 4 stars but Im taking off a star due to the very unwelcoming staff seating us. This guy was very tall and big and probably a bouncer for his weekend gig. He should most def reconsider his job as a seater. Very unwelcoming and gave us a blank stare. Didnt even ask us to "following me this was please"! With his orange hair and beard seemed like he was ready to take our head off.

We had a business meeting in the back room for 10 people. After they turned off the music and closed the door, it was perfect for a lunch meeting. The food at Legals is always consistent -great chowder - I tried the light clam chowder which was interesting and fewer calories, but not as good as the classic. I had grilled scallops and shrimp with sides of cole slaw and seaweed salad - Im not sure how that combo appeals to most people, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. They do a nice job with grilling and the shrimp and scallops were excellent that way. We also had the Legals experience appetizer plate which had shrimp coctail, crab cake, shrimp dumplings, tuna sushi -it was nice.

Previously, went to a Legal Sea Foods restaurant in Boston but the food I had at this one wasnt as good. Also, didnt seem to have the same menu selection as the other one. Seemed to be aimed for a more general crowd whereas the Boston restaurant was a higher end setup and more interesting menu. Had the fish and chips and the batter was only slightly crispy. Which was disappointing, not as bad as some attempts in US restaurants, but have had better in pretty much any UK fish & chip shop. The fried calamari tempura batter was much better, think restaurants might be better to use that if theyre unable to make a proper batter for fish and chips.

Wonderful food, disappointing service... Brought out of town guess there two weeks ago and had a fantastic meal and excellent service. Today we celebrated the last day of school and let the kids pick - go figure, they wanted lobster and swordfish (7, 7, & 9). As I stated, the food was on point, but the service was sub-par. Felt as if we bothering the waiter who we saw maybe 3 or 4 times. I had to ask other staff for cocktail sauce, drink refills, an extra napkins. The kids enjoyed their celebration, but Mom and Dad left disappointed.

Absolutely DISGUSTING! Gordon Ramsey needs to fix this place. The "thick plump" oysters were thin, stringy and cost 3.00 a piece. Ive had better oysters at a bar then I did here. Mussels were bland and dried out, the replacements were juicy but still no flavor. The Chai White Russian was really good and so was their version of "Oysters Rockefeller" but that was it. The other 4 people in my party had different dishes and none were impressed.

I definitely enjoyed the modern decor and accommodating service. However half of the items on the menu were over priced, nearly double the cost somewhere else. Legal Sea Foods utilized its wood grill on many of its main courses, but I would of liked to see more seasoning on the food. Overall I liked my experience but I think Legal Sea Foods could look over its prices and add some seasoning to its menu.

I really love Legal Sea foods. Sadly, this one is a bit inconsistent. The service is always very good, but when its busy the food does not always come out its best. I know that the fresh sea food that comes in everyday is not always the same, but I do expect that portion size will be consistent and the amount of doneness will be consistent. sometimes its not. For those prices it should be.

I went for a lunch with my friend who likes to eat there but as a vegan I was a little hesitant. It turned out to be a lame experience. I was served 3 pieces of burned tofu over oily rice with few vegetables. Since I didnt want to ruin my friends lunch I said nothing but when I got the check to pay $22.50 - more than any serious deal on the menu... NOT recommended at all!!

12/31/11 We just had a fantastic dinner at Legal Seafood. Started with lobster bisque and then the fishermans platter entree. My husband had the entree with the chefs choice of 3 fish, shrimp and scallops. Everything was wonderful. Our waitress was Karen and she couldnt have been more helpful. We never felt rushed on such a busy night and will return soon.

Solid seafood option. A bit touristy these days, but they deliver on the quality. we were at Framingham restaurant . I had wedge salad with shrimp and it was quite remarkable. Friend had chowder and really liked it Great lunch option! Beers good, and staff was clearly seasoned, and did a great job. Would Definitely go back.
