PLEASE READ AND BELIEVE THIS DONT RISK IT!! I am not sure in what world this place is allowed to operated. The Concept of the Breakfast Club how fantastic right? WRONG! Never in my 37 years on this planet have I ever been revolted the way I was this last Saturday. The 1st waitress came to the table and was very sweet did not speak very much English no one there really did (that is not a problem for me). She took the order and soon our food was arriving delivered by another waitress who my friends had HUGE cold sores on her mouth (active and contagious I work in the dental field so I know). We (table of 4) were all taken back that she didnt call in sick or be sent home we all know that it is contagious. We mustard up enough courage to say to each other its ok she just delivered the food she didnt not cook it so lets eat. But then we began observing everyone else along with her. She kept touching her cold sores and then delivering glass of water, food and dirty plates. Her co-workers were eating off a plate at the counter and then serving guest. We watched as many of the waitresses touch their hair and again serve customers. NEVER ONCE DID ANYONE WASH THEIR HANDS! OMG!! Then the kicker happened...the cook came out of the kitchen and had on vinyl gloves that look like they were from last weeks shift, his entire uniform was covered with grease and food. He began scathing his arm then proceeded back into the kitchen, mortified yet? The restaurant was a complete nasty mess just look up at the ceiling fan. I asked one the waitress if any of them had to take a food server class she had no idea what I was taking about. I told her how we were all disgusted by what we saw, she went and told the girl about her cold sore and as we were walking out she touched her mouth and blew a kiss to us. I went back into the restaurant and let her know how revolting she is and she should NEVER WORK IN THE FOOD BUSINESS. WHERE IS THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT IN BOSTON MA?? God help us all I think I may have caught something.

The first time we visited this diner, our hopes of having breakfast were dashed by super long lines, but we dont give up that easily! We tried again on a Monday morning/afternoon, and were not disappointed. We were greeted right away and within minutes the server was over to take our drinks and food order. My fiance chose from the breakfast side and got the Bananas Foster pancakes, while I, more in the mood for lunch and with a recommendation from the waitress, got the meat loaf dinner that came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Both were delicious! The meat loaf was the best Ive ever had, and the mashed potatoes were creamy and well seasoned. Prices were also affordable and our waitress was kind and attentive. Definitely planning on going back! --TIP-- Try going during a non peak time, this place gets super busy and fills up fast!

I had the most terrible experience here this morning which saddened me because Ive been coming to this restaurant since I was a child and I could always remember the service and the owner as outstanding. I received my food in a decent time but 10 minutes after I received my food my waitress came over and handed me my check! She then proceeded to come to my table every 3 minutes and ask "anything else?" & "would you like to wrap this up?" I was being rushed and it wasnt even busy inside. I looked at my bill and was told after the fact that there was no such thing as "substitutions" and I was charged $10 extra dollars. I asked to speak to the owner and was asked "well why?" Not "let me get him for you" or "he isnt in right now" but "WELL WHY?". I am so dissapointed because this was once my favorite place.

A true diner experience. All breakfast options are pretty standards, but have a homey, cooked-at-home taste. Their milkshakes are amazing. I tried the oreo milkshake, and I fell in love. I also really liked their homemade hash, which is made fresh in the restaurant. The corned beef hash comes from a can. I ordered the homemade hash eggs benedict, and the eggs were perfectly poached. The home fries could have been cooked more, but I still liked them. The steak tips are also a great option with eggs. They were marinated and very flavorful! They also have great seasonal options, and I was able to try their pumpkin pancakes. This was the perfect fall breakfast-for-dessert dish.

Eating at the Breakfast Club feels exactly like being in the 80s! ...Well, not really, but with so much 80s kitch/movie posters/framed album covers decorating the walls, you might do a double-take. The food is classic diner stuff (dishes including all possible permutations of "eggs," "bacon," "pancakes," "toast," "corned beef hash," "home fries," and "sausage") and is excellent for hangovers. I highly recommend the milkshakes (strawberry is inarguably the best) The service was a little slow when I went, although we did finish eating only shortly before closing time on a Sunday afternoon, and the waitstaff seemed a little distracted.

Ive been to the Breakfast Club twice, and both times, I thought the food was mediocre. It wasnt bad, but it also wasnt something I thought I couldnt make myself in 10 minutes or less. On my last visit, the service wasnt stellar either as our waiter never came to check up on us, and so never offered to refilled my coffee (but did so for the nearby tables). I found the staff who brought out the food was actually much friendlier than my actual waiter. Also, if youre coming in during the winter, sit away from the windows as it can get a little chilly in there without a coat.

Edit: I wrote my five star review below after coming for almost a year. Ive had to drop it to one because in my huevos rancheros there was a metal piece of the fryer. I did bite the piece and caught it before swallowing it which may have saved me a trip to the hospital. I sadly cannot recommend The Breakfast Club. Ive been coming here for almost a year now and it is definitely a place to be treasured. The staff is incredibly friendly and the steak and eggs are cooked perfectly. If steak and eggs arent your thing, try the homemade corn beef hash. It is delicious!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. But food was great. My boyfriend and I were seated at the bar. There man behind the bar in a red striped shirt, who clearly worked there. Not sure if he was the owner or what, but he did not even greet us or AKNOWLEDGE we were there. He was rudely chatting loudly to the couple beside us for several minutes. A good owner/ manager greets EVERYONE. It was actually uncomfortable as we waited for our waiter to come see us. Finally, our waiter tended to us and everything else went smoothly. Food was great but not the lack of feeling welcomed.

This review is for breakfast. Food - The pesto egg Benedict and the banana fosters French toast were good. I didnt love the chicken served in the Benedict because it was just too sweet for my taste. Also, their selection of French Toast keep changing with time. Service - Make sure your entire party is available otherwise you may have to wait to get a table. The service is quick and attentive. Parking - There are a few spots out back, street parking is available too. Decor - Cool and funky. Many retro movie posters and games on display.
