The Weave Cafe customer service and communication skills SUCKS. The employees are SO unprofessional. My1st visit the owner was there and it was ok.She made sure you signed in and asked what are you getting done. Although it was a long wait the owner gave you such great customer service you didnt mine the wait. MY 2nd visit the owner was not there and trust me, you can tell the differences. Most of the employees were SO unprofessional and there was no type of customer service AT ALL, not even from the manager. Some employees were sitting around talking while customers were waiting to be serve. It was finally my turn after 2 hours of waiting. I headed to the back for the young lady to begin my hair. Once she realize what type of hair I had she stated," You cannot get the $65 sew in you have to get the $80 sew in with this type of hair." I asked why was I not told this when I 1st signed in. again, BAD customer service. She went to get the manager and the manager stated that the girl at the front should have told me this. She also stated that it will be $25. more to put in a 3rd bundle and with the type of hair I had I may need it. The manager never even appologize for the young lady not letting me know but I was still willing to get my hair done. I told the manager I would get the $80 sew in but I would find someone else to put in the 3rd bundle if needed. So the young lady comes back to begin my hair, while she is combing my hair I made a phone call to my daugther asking if she could get someone to put a 3rd bundle in my hair if needed. The young lady stop combing my hair and said, "ARE YOU GETTING YOUR HAIR DONE OR WHAT?" I said excuse me, did I say Im not getting my hair done. You are all in my phone conversation and should be doing my hair. The young lady then became really angry and said "I AM NOT DOING YOUR DAMN HAIR!!!!! I said no problem collected my things and left. The Weave Cafe IS NOT the ONLY place in Baltimore who put in weaves. I am the type of person who would pay for good customer service but when the customer service is BAD why should I spend my money on a company with employees that gives BAD service. Therefore me and my money left. I would NEVER recommend the Weave Cafe to my family, friends or business partners.

You get what you pay for and what you get at The Weave Cafe is a hot ghetto mess. Please believe all the negative reviews. I wish I had read them before I went there. First of all I called to schedule an appointment and was told just to come in. I arrived at 1:30 pm and waited approximately 2 hours for my service. Once the braider finally took me back, she started my hair and then stopped halfway through. She said she would be right back. After about 15 minutes of waiting for her to come "right back," I went to look for her and she was eating. I asked her if she could finish my hair because I didnt want to be there all day. She said ok and returned in about 5 minutes. She then finished braiding my hair and sewed in the back. That went fine. Then I was sent over to a "licensed stylist." OK, I only saw one license hanging in the "salon" and it was not the girl who did my hair. Still the sew in process went pretty well until we got to the top and the girl had to blend my natural 4b hair in with a tight curly hair texture. To make a long story short, I had to tell her what to do and it still didnt look right. At that point, I said that I would leave and fix it myself and I got TONS of attitude for it. As I was leaving, I expressed my disappointment with the experience. A young brownskin lady with blue contact lenses then jumped up and started to argue with me. At this point, after being their for 5 hours, I had enough! I had some choice words for the young lady with the blue contact lenses and left. The young lady proceeded to follow me out the salon, up the street and confronted me as if she wanted to fight me. I guess shes not as dumb as she looks so she didnt and I left. Yes the "stylist" are unprofessional and I doubt they are licensed, but if you want to wait 5 hours for a cheap weave, this is the place for you.

I needed my hair done immediately for my graduation pictures. I walked in on 04/13/13 and was greeted by a friendly staff member who explained the different options they had and even suggested what option was best for my needs. This was the first time I got my sew-in done professionally nonetheless by a stranger so I was a bit nervous. The braider was Ciara, she was so nice and even asked if I was tender headed before she began. The weaver was Tesha she was very professional and knowledgeable about her craft. She collaborated with me about the style I wanted and matched it perfectly with my facial structure. I love these two gals! They made my experience so memorable and pleasant. I highly recommend these two professionals and the price was just right, $90 for a partial (it includes a net). One more thing...the facility doesnt match the style of the website so dont get your hopes up and some of the stylist are catty with each other. Needless to say I was there to get my hair done and could care less about the in house fighting. My experience was solely based on the outcome and the people I dealt with. I arrived at 8:30a on a Saturday and was out by 11:30a and my hair looked amazing. So take the negative reviews below with a grain of salt.

Well, different strokes for different folks! My first experience was yesterday 2/27/13...It was awesome for me.....For the most part pertaining to prices...I normally ask about that before the visit and the ladies was pretty much upfront about everything. The service was excellent, organized, professional and very fast paced. My weave is extremely tight but tolerable(which I love about it the most). The wait was doable...I arrived at 5:20pm and sat for about 20mins after being acknowledge by someone that I would be next and was in the chair for a wash by 5:45pm....I had 3 ounces of brazillian body wave(which I bought in) and they washed the hair, braided my hair, placed a net, and I sat for another short 10mins after that while my stylist was finishing up someone elses hair and was in the chair for my weave around quarter to 6 and finished completely with a crown touch up by 8pm on the DOT!!! I so loved that about them because I have very short tolerance and patience with salons nowadays with the given fact that I actually do hair on a regular basis. Thank you sooooo much Weave Cafe and a special s/o to Ms.Sheena and Shadaya!! Keep up the good work ladies and remember...in this world...you cant please everybody! ...........miss kia:):)

I went to the weave cafe because my beautician couldnt make it home from college the weekend I needed my hair done. I was excited because Ive heard good things about this establishment. I like the order of how they take clients. The braiding of my hair went well despite the unprofessional and inappropriate conversation going on around me. Installation went well as far as quality. A customer knocked over a drink belonging to the technician who was doing my hair. The drink spilled on my weave and nothing was done to clean my hair, not even an attempt. I dismissed it because I was appalled by the an on going conversation and I was running late for work. I didnt like the closure of my weave, it was painful and complicated for no reason. To top it off my closure wouldnt lay down. I didnt get my weave styled not only because I was in a rush but I didnt like the styles of other clients. Overall, I would not return. Ive had better experiences that were cheaper.
