My company goes on a yearly trip to HDG and we LOVE coming here. To start; the drink selections were uncomplicated and refreshing- a really nice break from all these craft cocktails and unknown brewing companies that seem to be taking over the world. Easy choices that took a lot of stress out of the ordering process for a large corporate group. Our servers were wonderful and provided us with perfect wine recommendations that were delicious and affordable. The antipasti starter that we received was AMAZING; it had everything you could possibly want (Olives, cheese, meats, mozzarella sticks, and more) it was perfect for sharing between our large tables in the private dining area they provided for us. My coworkers and I are already looking forward to having this starter next year- we cant stop talking about it a week later. Food was quick to come out and everyone was served at the same time which is no simple task but our servers were very good with timing everything. The entrees were all top-notch. I did not hear one complaint and all of our plates were clean by the time dinner was over. Dessert was selected by one of the servers based on her own recommendations and every single one was better than the next. I personally could not stop eating these treats despite being happily full from dinner. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to have real authentic Italian food with wonderful service and a warm atmosphere. My coworkers and I cannot say enough great things about La Cucina.

This place is a horrible excuse for a restaurant. Me and my family came here on a spur of the moment Friday night dinner. I ordered the Surf & Turf for $32 and took the option of the Crab cake, and the 16oz Ribeye. You cant go wrong right?! From the first bite, to the last that I could stomach, it tasted horrible. The meat was overcooked, and greasy. My wifes filet mignon was even worse than mine. And thats supposed to be one of the best as far as quality of meat is concerned. Now I NEVER complain to the staff or cooks, but after the meal, I was sick to me stomach because the meal tasted so bad, so I decided to just tell them how I felt and that it wasnt very good. Not with an attitude or disruptive. The "owner" comes out and before I can even get my first sentence out, shes telling me how "No one ever complains about this" and thats how its supposed to be. It was like talking to a toddler.... She insisted for me to take a dessert home for free, but I insistently denied the offer since I had no appetite. Horrible experience from the get go. The server was good, but too crowded in there, horrible food, ridiculous prices, and an owner that will argue with you if you try to leave some constructive criticism.

I read the reviews before my shopping trip to HDG today and saw the glowing remarks about La Cucina. Every bite of my 2 slices of pepperoni and mushroom pizza was wonderful - the crust was thin, crispy and flavorful, the tomatoe-y sauce had a little kick and there was lots of gooey cheese to savor. (Im glad I didnt ask for extra). Home-made vinegarette dressing on the fresh tossed salad was great too. The waiter, John, was friendly, easy-going and attentive. This cafe is homey and cozy and youll hear the banter between the owner family members from the open kitchen, as they speak in Italian. (last time I was down to the town last summer, I had lunch at Laurrapin Grille and it was overpriced, too yuppy, although the food was good. Did not appreciate the snooty response from the waittress when I asked for extra mayonnaise on my crab cake sandwich - "WE dont HAVE mayonnaise here!. Well, EXCUSE me. Just because your food is a little creative and gourmet is no excuse to put on airs. (She brought me aoili which was fine). So, everybody: go to La Cucina if you want t be treated respectfully and like a long-time customer! Lisa from Wilmington, DE

WAAAAYYYYY OVERPRICED!!!!! Being from New Jersey, Im used to paying high prices for everything. But even NJ isnt this bad! $3.25 to substitute whole wheat capellini for white capellini. And when I asked for a side of marinara (for bland dish), I received a side of pizza sauce that had no seasoning of any sort. Again, $3.25 (no price listed on menu.) My dish with "seasonal" vegetables turned out to be mushrooms, a little spinach, a few green peppers & a little broccoli. Being the end of summer, I envisioned "seasonal" as something quite different. Maybe the "seasonal" vegetables in NJ are different than Maryland. Wait staff, etc. are friendly but no one seems to really care if you like your food or not. One would think the waitress might ask why I left half a plate of food, didnt want to take the leftovers (especially at these prices) & felt the need to add "marinara" sauce & lots of parmesan cheese to a dish that didnt contain either. How do they get away with this????

My wife and I recently moved to Havre de Grace a year and a half ago. I have been desperately searching for good quality pizza since. Well search no further!! We tried a pie half pepperoni and half mushroom. Mouth watering fantastic. Perfect crisp crust with all the ingredients just complimenting each other to make a fantastic pizza. My wife also ordered a dish containing fresh leafy vegies w/ italian tomatoes and mozzerela cheese. So fresh and crisp and the cheese was the best I have ever eaten. I was so impressed, I called the manager, which I found out is the owner and Father of the family running the place, to express my sincere gratitude for making such a quality meal. He asked me to stop by so we could meet and so I did a few days later. He introduced me to his family and allowed me to sample many ingredients as he explained why they tasted so good and why he pays more for superior products. What a great all round place. I plan on taking my wife for our aniversary next week as I am 100% positive we will not be disapointed. Worth the drive no matter where you live.

A pleasant surprise We were greeted warmly when we arrived and seated immediately. Our waitress was pleasant and helpful but not overbearing. Her suggestions were spot on! We visited on Good Friday after lunch so we chose a cheese pizza and house salad. My husband said it was the best pizza he has had since leaving the Bronx in the 60s. The sauce was flavorful and seasoned well. Salad was fresh and crisp. We ended our meal with a cannoli to go. Their cannoli was a tie with my grandmothers. The cream was thick but not pasty and unlike many, did not have an after taste. The cream had shaved chocolate instead of the mini chocolate chips. The shell was fresh, light and crispy. A must have. We are looking forward to dining there again and trying some of their other specialties.
