Was pretty psyched to eat here based on some friends who described it as very authentic Mexican. Overall it was not bad, but I was less than impressed. One person in our party is allergic to dairy and was very disappointed to learn their guacamole has dairy. It was worse because she really needed it for her dry chicken. I was had a combo of chile relleno, chalupa, and beef taco. The whole plate was served with a liberal covering of lettuce and a sad wedge of hothouse tomato. The relleno was not fried or battered, it tasted ok but was bland. The taco had very rich flavor with ubiquitous white shredded cheese (not queso fresca). The "chalupa", a corn tortilla covered in very bland beans was hard to find under the lettuce and needed a lot of hot sauce to be palatable. The chips and salsa were decent, but cooked style salsa isnt what I was expecting. I guess I was hopeful that it would be more than its suburban surroundings would bely, but it was as white and gringo as the manicured lawns of the neighborhood split levels and SUVs with honor roll stickers in the parking lot.

Filling but yummy combinations on flavors. Ive been here multiple times and I always enjoyed my experience here. The experience starts with the chips and the two different dips. Definitely not healthy but addicting.Appetizers are okay but some of the apps are very similar to the entrees so dont spoil yourself! The entrees is a HUGE combination of so many different flavors. My favorite is the Hawaiian Fajitas. Its seafood and other goodness stuffed and served in a pineapple! I usually can finish it but I do have to ask for extra tortillas. I dont know how authentic the food is because I am asian...but the atmosphere seems authentic. The restaurant itself feels a little tight, I wish it was more open. It might be that they can get pretty busy at times. The service was also good and the servers definitely took care of us. Needless to say, good place to come with friends and enjoy fajitas and tacos.

Absolutely love this place. The price is perfect. With a family of five, things can get very pricey. I feel like we can get the full experience here - on a budget. My friends and I enjoy coming here for happy hour once in a while. I have no complaints on the drinks, theyre always good here. My kids love the food and so do I. The food always tastes fresh, flavorful and good. Ive never had an excessive wait time for a table or my food. If you have a birthday they come out and embarrass you by putting a big hat on your head and singing some song that is accompanied by a free dessert. Its a good time! The waiters are efficient. They Probably could be more social but theyre busy and I understand. Ive never been annoyed or mistreated by any waiter here. Overall, great experience everytime Ive been here.

This restaurant holds a special place in my heart, because it was the first legit Mexican food I was able to find in Maryland after I moved from Southern California, which you might expect has some of the best Mexican food you can find anywhere. Very reasonably priced. Try the Texas fajitas, cheese enchiladas, carne asada street tacos, and my personal favorite, the Nachos Durango, which is basically a plate of nachos with chicken fajitas on top. Incredible. This place gets crowded on Friday and Saturday nights, but theres plenty of parking. I eat here every week.

Absolutely fantastic food the seasoning was near perfect and the wait staff was excellent. As someone who grew up in a hispanic household I can honestly say that all the food I had was either authentic or a refreshing twist of the authentic. Wait staff was great Within 30 seconds of calling a waiter I had service which is great by any standard and all were friendly and helpful. I cant 2 a it to return to la tolteca. Definatly worth the hour and a half drive.

El Gordito. End of story. Well, happy hours rock too. Fast, delicious, authentic (if that is a thing), and wonderful hosts offer a diner a fine meal, at a fair price. The large menu boils down to two awesome dishes...as mentioned, El Gordito (a large burrito with meat of choice and a yummy sauce with rice and what not) or Chili Renas (not sure I am spelling that correctly...but yum!).

The decor is absolutely over-the-top. This is the most Mexican restaurant Ive ever seen in my life. They also serve the the most Mexican food Ive ever seen in my life. The portions are unbelievably large. Dont think theyre making up for quality with quantity though, theres plenty of both.

Marginal at best. Could not find a waiter to get water, could not find a waiter to order another drink, could not find a waiter for a small plate, but the food was tasty. Colorful authentic decor. Yes, Id go back again but ask for a different waiter who wanted his job.

The servers were great no complaints there :) liked the comfortable family atmosphere. but the grilled chicken and steak were VErry very over seasoned. I mean it tasted like pure salt! The rice and guacamole I had were very good tho. And I looove salty food but geesh!

I really enjoyed my visit with my family. The wait staff was nice and responsive. The food was good. I really enjoyed the fresh guacamole they made at the table. I highly recommend it. The fried ice cream did not blow me away but the churros were excellent.

Fast, friendly service. Good prices. Tasty food. I stop at four stars only because I feel they adapted some dishes for the local palette and thus drifted from the Mexican flavors I got used to after living in the American southwest for 15 years.

The customer service was horrible... I order carry out. I ordered an extra chips and salsa...it was a tiny cup....I asked for more and they wanted to charge me 3.59 for each white and red sauce after I just spent 40.00.....how expensive is salsa???

Im actually disappointed with the service and the food I received here. The food was embarrassing, not enough seasoning and I had water at the bottom of my carry out. My hard shell taco was also watery. I could not even eat my food.

Free chips and salsa to begin. I love mixing the salsa and sour cream. Great and speedy service. Depending on what you get, is either fresh or frozen but never the less delicious. I love the quesadillas and fajitas!

This is what I expect of a good Mexican place. Its not attempting to be fancy, it has very colorful and tacky murals all around including in the booth comma and a huge pile of chips when you sit down.
