I had high hopes driving up to this place. I was really in the mood for a good diner breakfast, coming from CA where they really dont exist. Parking lot was full, restaurant was busy, and it smelled like a really nice diner when I walked in. All good signs. What I should have done is ask my brother, who lives in Annapolis, where to go for breakfast one morning when we were on our own (with wife and small son). He said afterwards that we should have asked him and he would have told us not to go there. Turns out he was right. The menu is big and impressive, although there is really nothing special on the breakfast section -- just your basics. No interesting omlets or anything. I really started to develop a negative opinion of the place when the waitress (who was otherwise nice) said that I COULD NOT subsititue grits for toast. That makes absolutely no sense -- either cost-wise, or customer service-wise or any other way. I have never even seen a restaurant that was that unyielding. She said she asked the manager and was told "no," Simply amazing lack of interest in simple customer service. I wasnt asking to change the bacon into fois gras or anything. I guess that they get enough folks who simply dont know or care what they are eating . . . . Son had the kids pancakes and sausage, which was a very large portion. My wife had the french toast and I had the hamsteak, scrambled eggs, brocolli and the grits. I had to BUY the brocolli separately because of the subsitution problem (that was cheaper than buying the grits if I was to get what I wanted). Again, amazing. It came with a muffin, which I didnt really want, but asked to be packed up to go. When I tried to later on the plane (really brought it for my 3 year old son) it tasted really strange. It had a sort of annise taste as best I could tell and was very stale. It was supposed to be a bran muffin -- didnt taste anything like a bran muffin. It was plastic wrapped, so maybe they dont make then fresh very frequently -- a real sin in a diner. My wife immediately complained about her french toast. I thought, "how bad could french toast be?" Then I tasted it. It was very dry (no batter soaked into the bread which is a huge pet peeve) and had really no flavor other than a really strange taste (old grease, or other food, or something wierd). The waitress was quick to take it back and bring something else. Mine was fine, except for the grits, which tasted like instant, or at least "quick cooking" rather than what you would expect from a diner in MD. I felt the bill was kinda high for the quality of the food and lack of interest in customer dining satisfaction. I would absolutely not return based on the refusal to make a basic subsitution, which would have helped me (diet) and would have actually cost them less in time and money. Add the quality of the food and not only will I not be back, but will let other people know how bad it was. The cost was just nails in the coffin.

We ate there on our way home from Denton, Maryland. We have driven by there a few times and finally decided to go in and try it on Sunday April 6, 2008 at about 8 PM. The wait staff was great the portions were awesome for the price, the food looked great however looks were defiantly deceiving. The taste of our food was downright nasty and awful. The crab cakes if you would call them that were the worst I have ever had in Maryland. My burger looked and tasted like squirrel meat. The crab cakes had bones and no flavor which in Maryland is a crime not to use Old Bay seasoning in them. The tiny cup of coleslaw that came with my burger was nasty as it was drowned in mayonnaise and had no flavor either. I think they need to get chef Gordon Ramsey in the kitchen there to teach them how to cook. We loved the way the menu had so much on it and we were thinking about coming back late one night for a meal but now we won’t be back ever again.

The service was terrible the food was horrible if i could give negative stars i would. The server messed up our order after ignoring us a bunch of times. The food when it finally came correct was nasty cold and had no seasoning wat so ever. The majority of the food was left on the plate the server came back and was like would u like a box we said no the check he said yall hardly ate we said it was disgusting he smiled and walked away. Didnt ask wat was wrong or wat could be done to fix the problem. Lastly at the register the lady was mono tone stating your total n askin for payment no question about how was everything. Smh never again will i visit this establishment nor the one in glen burnie. Save ur money n ur taste buds. Thank me later...

Cant believe other folks lower ratings! Its always a TREAT to go to this fantastic place. Ive routinely brought my 4 kids here for their birthday breakfasts--a highlight of their homeschool years. Always welcomed and seated (during my am & pm visits) in <1min. Excellent wait staff; seriously top-notch. Bakery delights (we usually take to go) are worth the visit, alone! Gleaming clean bakery w/authentic Greek treats (yummy as living on Crete!), Chocolate Mouse "Mouse" & cheesecakes galore are just a sample. Lighten up and love this classic favorite of Annapolitans! GREAT quality (& quantity!) food, pleasant and quick service, great value & experience.

I was pretty hesitant to go here with all the mixed reviews. It was about 1am and Im not a huge fast food person but needed a bite. Stopped in, place was pretty empty just me and maybe 1 or 2 other patrons, looked at the menu and was afraid to order something that could just be warmed up do to places like this being known for microwaving food after hours. I ordered the Philly cheese steak nonetheless. Service was great got my food within a few minutes, fries were fresh and the sandwich and bread was delicious. I ordered a cannoli to go and left my tip of course. Definitly a must go next time Im in the Annapolis area.

Weve gone to Double T Diner for a few years now, and it is always a reliably good meal. Easy to take any visitors here, as there is something for everyone - from authentic Greek dishes to standard diner breakfasts. The last time we were there, I was slightly dismayed to see the prices had gone up - but that is inevitable. I was absolutely thrilled to see, however, that one of the bus boys I recognized from years past was now a waiter and doing a fantastic job of it. I love to see promotions from within that recognize clearly hard working talented people. Keep up the good work, Double T, we will continue our loyalty!

Such a great location and Annapolis needs a great breakfast place. I really wanted to like this diner. But the food (breakfast food) is just horrible. Scrambled eggs are really a flattened omlet and tough. The breakfast meats are VERY low quality. Even the coffee is pretty bad. And I believe that the management just doesnt care about the quality of the food. When checking out at the counter, I was not asked how my food was...they just dont care. Probably because they do such a good business, in spite of their bad breakfast food.
