I went to lunch and ordered a half and half plate today at the Hill Top. I was shocked when I was handed the bill for $23.61 for ONE lunch. I looked at the menu and saw the price was 15.95 for the half and half plate. My bill had 15.95 plus $2.00 for shrimp and $2.00 for oysters on it. When I asked the waitress she turned the menu over and showed me on the front of the menu where they had add a printed slip of paper stating that due to the oil spill the seafood may be more. OK, first question, who looks at the front of the menu? I know which restaurant I am at. I look at the food! Second question, When I ordered this why didnt the waitress inform me of the price change or any additional charges? The owner came out and stood by her bill. She was not very nice, professional or concerned with future business. I used go to Hill top every couple of months when I was in the area. The food is OK but I have had much better. The atmosphere is nice when you are able to sit outside and enjoy the view. I will continue to go out to eat in the area but will stick to places like Swamp POP where the food is excellent and much friendlier and honest people serve you.

My husband and I went here for dinner one night. After waiting for an hour and a half for our food, which still wasnt ready, we gave up and finally had it boxed to go. What irritated us the most was we had asked our server if there was a long wait. We were told not really, and then had over an hour wait and no one from our waiter to the top management was concerned.

My family and I have gone here for years and this was our worst experience by far . The prices for the amount of food you get now is ridiculous . I just soon go to mike Andersons where the food is much better and a little bigger portions . Sorry hilltop but I believe you just lost us as customers

An hour wait for food after you sit down is ridiculous. And what makes it even more is the fact that management thinks this is ok. A lack of restaurants in the area is the only reason they are probably busy. Dont go there unless youre prepared to wait and want rude service from management.

Prices just Shot-up ! Front end is run by a bunch of teenagers that are overwhelmed. youll wait 45min to be seated. Foods taste good when you eventually get it but small portions for the price. When we got out of there we went to a BK as we entered HillTop hungry and left that way.

Used to live next to there so I ate there almost all the time. I asked if they were hiring and a lady on the phone didnt even worry about me instead she said Im busy texting someone can you please hold on and then she said bye and hung up.

Food was good, service couldve been better, but the menu prices were not representative of the overall experience. If I want to spend $20-$25 for a steak Ill go to Baton Rouge. And $3 for a beer? Dont think so.

The people that run this place were terribly rude. We had a group of 11, We all went there for lunch and left only spending $25. So rude that we left with full pockets and empty bellies.

Fried oyster poboy added bacon and cheese. Was probably up there with one of the best poboys Ive ever had. Though it was small and didnt come with frys, at the time it hit the spot.

Hilltop is not what it used to be. Very pricy and not a lot of food. They do have good sweet tea! Sorry but Kevins is our go to place for seafood.
