We went to Washington Square tonight to eat dinner with our family for Fathers Day. My 13 year old daughter and her boyfriend say at a table by them selves since my we had 6 at our table. The owners boyfriend proceeded to tell my daughter that they look like stoners and accused them of being on heroin. After realizing they were with us and being confronted by my husband and father he admitted he was wrong and had no reason to treat them that way. The owner did nothing to handle the situation or apologize for the actions of her friends. I will never EVER return to that restaurant to spend my hard earned money at a place that treats their customers like that. It was absolutely ridiculous, demeaning and down right harassment. By far, the WORST place I have ever been to. Be warned and dont waste your time or your money on people who treat others this way.

Home cooked, delicious foods!!! If you dont want to pay the high prices at the Tousey House and dont want the lower quality food of Central House=this is your place! Room can be an issue because of the small building, but the outside patio is ideal on summer nights. One waitress is perfect! She has reddish hair and is in her 20s. She remembers us everytime and is very friendly and hospitable. I wish I could remember her name, to recommend her. We have had another waitress twice, who normally works inside. She has very short hair and is probably in her 50s. She has messed up on our meals twice, without apology and is not very friendly. The rest of the staff is very cheerful and helpful. I recommend that if your heading to the Central House Diner...walk a few more yards to Washington Square=youll love it!!

No sign about waiting for a server or just to seat yourself. Sat down and wait for five minutes. Someone cleared a few things off the table and said "did you just sit there" with lots of attitude. Waited almost ten more minutes and were never acknowledged at all. Ridiculous. We live around the corner. I will definitely not go there again. Ive never been a good fan of their food but in the past the service and atmosphere have been good. Very disappointed.

We ate here three times in the last few months. The food is really good. The specials are usually home cooked meals. I had a chance to see the chief (kitchen manager) at work while waiting on a take out order. I was impressed. If anything I could suggest to management would be to ask their servers to smile just a tad bit more. Would defeintly make the experience that much more enjoyable.

A true dump. Surly, inhospitable, dirty, and wreaking of stale grease. We were not greeted and waited for menus. When the server brought menus to a couple that walked in several minutes after we did asked us if wed been helped, we said no. She told is "someone will be by soon" and proceeded with these other guests. We left. Really, dont bother. There was not a single redeeming quality.

Cons: long wait for menus and food, fruit flies, very small pros: The food was worth waiting for and it has a small-town cafe charm that made up for the cramped feeling. The staff greeted several dozen customers by name giving the impression that there was a regular crowd. (people come back :-) ) I would suggest the philly chicken sandwich...its amazing. We will be back a lot!

Intended to go somewhere else but dropped in here instead. Glad I did, because the food was awesome. Got their Goetta burger on a pretzel bun and it was great. Their other menu items need to be tried so I will definitely be back. Wonderful and friendly staff. Was a bit busy, they let us know and we got a seat right away. Best thing I ate all day.

Great food, fun atmosphere from bands on the weekend nights to outside patio. Also, inside has a remote cable tv for entertaining the kids or game night. Love this place, its a fun local spot. But, ultimately Ive never had bad food or service. Hamburgers and fish sandwich were yummy. I liked the soup too on cold days ESP

If you want to eat like the locals then this is the place. The whole family loved the food but I reccomend the big breakfast with goedda (a local grain filled meat) and gritts with the red eye sauce topped off with a big glass of sweet tea! Best breakfast I have had in a long time!

This is a service rating only. We walked up to the sign instructing us to wait for seating. After the third time an employee walked by and made eye contact without a smile or greeting we went next door to the Tousey House and enjoyed their famous good service.

Been living in Florence for 6 months. Moving away this Friday. JUST found this restaurant this morning. My husband told me 3 times that he wished wed found this place months ago. High praise indeed from someone who is hard to please.

Boyfriend and I were driving through town and smelled something AMAZING. So we parked, googled what was around and stopped in. Amazing food, happy employees. Definitely recommend the goetta planks and cheesecake!

Comfort food that is priced so reasonably. Makes for a nice night out in a quiet historic district. Feels like an old favorite on my first visit. Cant wait to go again. Service was polite and made us feel at home.

Perfect place to go if you want to get away from mainstream restaurants. Its very simple and inviting. Took both of my little girls so they could see what local family owned places are like

Sweet potato fries are the best. I want to visit again soon. It looks like they have made some great renovations to the outside

Good food, over priced though. Burgers and sandwiches should come with fries. Service was extremely slow. Only one waitress
