The skillets served here are really quite good, and they remind me of some of the breakfasts I used to get at Bob Evans and Dennys when I was younger (both of which are very strong showings in Virginia). The only issue I had last time I went was that we were unable to beat the church congregation crush, and thus the line to even get seated was long-- though this was in no small part our fault. Certainly though, their staff had some trouble running the full house. IF you want the food, get here early!

I was so glad to discover The Frontier Cafe it is amaaaaaaaazing with friendly waitresses and excellent food and very reasonable and if you go away hungry its your own fault bc they serve you plenty !!!! Several items to choose from also !! Do yourself a favor if you like chicken and get the House Chicken !! It is soooooo gooooood

Dont let the "street view" fool you...The picture posted is the alley side of the building. Not much to look at on the outside but has EXCELLENT service, food, and value!! 5 people ate a full breakfast for $34! Decor is pleasant. Will come back whenever we are in Grinnell. Bathrooms are the only downfall.

I was super happy to find this little gem in our drive back to kansas city. Portions were good. Prices were great. Service was good. Store was clean even though we hit the after church rush. I think its a good choice for anyone traveling through wanting a good meal at a good price.

The smell of deep-fried food is the first thing you smell walking in the door. I personally find that really off-putting. Even though I didnt ordered anything deep-fried it tasted like it was, if that makes any sense.

Ordered the pork tenderlion, it was over cooked, tough, hard to chew, more like a jerky. Will not order this again, & havent been back for over 8 months. Not taking our out of town guests to Frontier Cafe.

Here for business and this place is our #1 choice in town. Food is great and we feed a family of 4 adults 1 kid for less than $50! Would highly recommend. We always leave happy and full!
