Something has happened. Since being introduced to Joy Ann over 20 years ago, I have always recommended Joy Ann for everything. It seems the last few years or so that something has changed. I do not know if the cakes are being made and then frozen until they are ready for use or if an ingredient or two has been changed or omitted. Also, I wonder about the turnover rate with the staffing. I have noticed new faces over time and some are not as clean as one would hope to find working in such a fine, reputable bakery. Regretfully, I have had no choice but to go to a large retailer for our baking needs. I wouldnt mind paying more for quality if I could get it.

had went to joy anns for my daughters 1st birthday cake!! was not happy at all..picked out a design and everything, picked the cake up about an hour before her party and it wasnt even close to what i had chose. I asked for flowers to be on there also and they couldnt even design that! i was so upset..her 1st birthday cake was ruined...i asked them for my money back and they said that that was what i had ordered....like i said not even close..dont get me wrong the cakes there are good but they have no experience in designing the cakes.let just say i ended up going to walmart and paid for another cake..thats how bad it was..never again will i go there

Went to Joy Anns after hearing rave reviews of the cookies. I had eaten the cupcakes at a birthday party and had not cared for them. HOWEVER, decided to give them a try on my own. Bought a cream horn, cannolis, and thumbprint cookies....everything was amazing. The cream in the cream horns was perfect. Not too much like icing or whipped cream- a perfect mid-point. The service was good, and I thought they handled a difficult customer who came in while I was making my selections in a professional way. I will be going back!!! Probably soon!

When I was little my mom used to take my twin brother and I to the library and then we would go to the bakery for thumbprint cookies and if we were especially good we would get a cookie shaped like big birds head. My brother and I would always be eager to get some of their fine baked goods. Going there just lit up our day when we were little, but it has been a while since we have been there and I hope that things havent changed!

Joy Ann has always been the cake shop my entire family has bought their cakes from for any and every occasion. Last week I threw my mother a surprise retirement Party and bought a full sheet cake from Joy Ann. The cake was absolutely beautiful. We did not want to even cut the the cake. Thank you Joy Ann for being apart of our family for generations.

Everything I had ever tasted before from Joy Ann was awesome! So you can imagine my disappointment to have paid $61.00 for a sheet cake, for my daughters high school graduation this past weekend, which was dry and the icing was grainy. The decoration was below standard as well. Probably wouldnt use them for an important occasion again.

I love this hometown bakery! I have been shopping there for 30 years. When my kids were little we would make an afternoon of shopping uptown at Veachs, stopping at the library for great books and always a special trip to Joy Anns to pick out a smiley face cookie. It was good 30 years ago and is still amazing today!

A local favorite, Joy Ann Cake Shop has a large variety of cookies and cakes with the iced angelfood cake standing out as a particularly neat treat. They made my wedding cake 14 years ago and I have been a loyal customer ever since.

Unfortunately they wldnt wait for me to get there to purchase 3 dozen cookies i was 2 mIles away and it was 3 min till closing. I past them up first time. Wish she gave me better directions. I guess they dont need the buisness.

This bakery has become our familys tradition for birthdays, weddings and any special occasion. The thumbprint cookies are a bit pricey but my adult children know theyre loved when they each get their 1# bags!! LOL

Customer service over the phone couldve been better. I wish they delivered other baked goods besides just wedding cakes, it could really broaden their customer base, especially in Richmond, IN.
