Cafe Royal in New Castle, IN is a great, quaint coffee shop. I went in there expecting to find a "cafe" capable of serving hum drum drip brew, and perhaps a grilled cheese, but was surprised to find a fully functioning coffee house. Their espresso machine and manual grinders are high quality. Their syrups are thankfully not Torani or DaVinci... so, at least servable. It was surprisingly spacious and inviting. Im a gourmet coffee shop manager from missouri, so it was refeshing to find another shop at least deserving of the title "groumet". Although, they did exceed my expectations, they did not offer any traditional drinks. When I ordered a Traditional Latte, the barista asked me what size I wanted. This told the whole story. The word "traditional" should tell them the size already, 10oz. A traditional cappuccino would be 6oz, etc. So, obviously lacking in the "upper-crust" of gourmet. Other than that, the shop was very well put together- even had a drive through. Id recommend it, especially beacuse it seems to be your only choice in New Castle!

We just moved to this area from Ohio and I have been looking for a little coffee shop that sells locally roasted beans by the pound. I had given up and decided that Hoosiers must not take their coffee as seriously as Buckeyes do. Then I found Cafe-Royal. Just what I was looking for!! Small, locally owned, coffee, smoothies, muffins and even lunch and light dinner fare. I had just eaten breakfast so I only bought coffee, but Ill be back for further research!

Great coffee here, miles better than Starbucks. They hand press their coffee. The food is good and you get a good amount for the price,but the drinks are the real star of the show. Lots of different varieties and they all taste wonderful. They serve gelato as well.

Stopped by between high school basketball games, what a great place to relax, read, play a board game, and have a sandwich. The grilled panninni and soup were excellent. Fun place with great atmosphere and service. Highly recommended.

Great latte and customer service. The blue berry muffins are my favorite. And all the soups are outstanding. Excellent place to have a latte/coffee and meet with people. Charlene and Latisha are #1 in my book!

Great atmosphere to go and relax for a lunch date or a meeting. The chicken salad croissants and paninis are fantastic. Your doing a fantastic job here Im glad we have a nice coffee shop/cafe here to enjoy.

Cafe Royal is definitely much more than a coffee house. It has a relaxing atmosphere, and the food and drinks are tremendous and very affordable.I would highly recommend trying them today.

I love stopping every Friday morning before Co-Op for a King Black Knight Mocha. And their Western Wrap is so good for breakfast. Ive never had a bad, or even sub-part experience here!

The food is always fresh and made right when you order it. The coffee is excellent there are so few places that prepare espresso by hand anymore its nice to see it done here.
