I needed a job and a friend referred me to 12th Street Cafe. I got a job as a cook without the manager showing me the kitchen. On my first day. I was disgusted with how dirty the kitchen was and at the end of the day how they clean the place. I hold a food handlers card and know how it is suppose to be cleaned. They use Ajax to clean the grills and fryers. they never cleaned the bottles that have Mayo and stuff like that in it. They just keep putting new over the old. most of the equipment didnt work right and it was so hot in the kitchen that it made me really thirsty and I was told I had to ask management for a glass of water and they could and did tell me no a time or two. I witnessed another cook drop a spatula on the floor and pick it up and without washing it she continued to cook with it. I am surprised there isnt more people sick after eating there. I could only stand 6 days at this place and tell everybody I can so they dont get sick. PLEASE DONT EAT AT 12TH STREET CAFE! YOU ARE IN DANGER OF GETTING SICK. And it is true that Management get to eat and drink when and what ever they want even when their employees are told NO.

Just left after wait g a hour and 15 minutes to get our breakfast and not once being checked in during our wait. When we finally got out food it was just dropped off, no "sorry about your wait" or anything. Our eggs were cold and waffle was pecan instead of plain - lucky we didnt have a nut allergy. Waitress asked how everything was when paying the bill and he simply said "it was a horrible experience". Waitress just smiled and said aww. When he suggested she tell her manager, she replied "no, I wont do that because not everyone is as rude as you". Mind you, we were perfectly calm and polite, just letting her know we did not enjoy our breakfast experience at 12th Street Cafe. Needless to say, we wont be back and would not recommend them.

Rhonda @ 12th street is WAY BEYOND a normal waitress! She definitely goes above and beyond for her customer! Something I have not seen in a long time in the customer service industry is a person willing to make your life easier! Not only will she take your order over the phone but she will have it hot and piping and ready for you when you walk in the door for those of you with a 30 minute lunch break! I will definitely be sending all of my friends!

I wish there was a star rating for very poor. my family and I came in wanting a nice home cooked meal and what we got was rude service and food that wouldnt even be suitable for the trash can. I will be telling everyone about this service and some have been coming there for atleast 25 yrs ... Get it together Steve this is not the way to serve your customers ... make them happy not sick to their stomachs!!!!!!
