My experience at the Clayton Café can be described as one of the worst small town Cafes I have ever stopped at in all of my years of truck driving. The people were completely rude and it took me over an hour to get a table (which I didnt get settling for a stool at the bench) only to get served a burnt couple of pieces of catfish on their "All you can eat Catfish" night. My cup stayed empty the greater portion of the night after asking multiple times for a refill from multiple servers. I was even more displeased with the oversized bill at the end that I reluctantly paid before leaving. I would recommend going the extra distance to Danville to get McDonalds which is how I ended my night. Good luck to everyone that tries to go to this establishment.

Clayton Cafe is one of those exceptional finds. Offering everything you could want out of a diner, and more. Big burgers, famous catfish, home cooked meals, and a tenderloin that can take its place as contender for "Best in State", you wont be disappointed. AND at the end of the meal, youll be left scratching your head wondering how they afford to keep the lights on at those prices! All among a quiet, country setting. Worth the drive.

Lines are way too long, food isnt that good, and its expensive. They also take forever to seat you, and never give you refills on your drinks. You have to shout across this place to get it. Most of the food there tastes about like they just put it in the microwave straight out of the freezer. Plain. This place needs an overhaul before it can get more than 1star from me.

Great food. Great service. Kudos to the "chef". We used to go when a previous owner had it. It was good them too! Meatloaf was delicious. I had more than I should have eaten! My honey had chicken fried steak and could only eat one. His was delicious too. Dont know how many owners there have been, but I will vouch for two. Glad we stopped!! Were planning to go back!!!

It used to be a better atmosphere with the previous owners. Yeah they redid some cosmetic things but their "holy than thou" attitude ran a few of the great personality servers away and the cook Dave left so its kind of stale and they just ran the personality out of the place. The foods good but so is waffle House!?!?

There are new owners and I hope they move this place in a better direction. The food is 95% frozen: fries, hash browns, tenderloins, etc. and the mac and cheese is pasta with warmed, canned "cheese", powdered mashed potatoes... Please hire a part time baker and prep person to bring "homemade" goodness to Clayton!

Small town cafe. Breaded tenderloin deluxe. Fresh tomatoes purple onion. Grilled bun. As good as the county fair!! Home made Cole slaw. Not to sweet, not to tangy-just right! Waitress Stacey very attentive Home made peach and BLACKBERRY cobbler. Breakfast served ALL day. Going back.

Its been awhile since I ate there, because its quite a drive for me. But I had breakfast there with several friends, and it was delicious! Everyone loved their food and coffee. Service was great! Very friendly, quick service. Ill be back!

I go for the all you can eat catfish on Friday and it is good. You can get filets or whole and fried or grilled. The staff and owner have always been very nice to me. Be prepared to wait to get in as there is always a line on Friday.
