When we went in at the 2013-2014 Winter menu we had the Chefs Special appetizer, and their seasonal Lobster & Fresh Mozzarella Flatbread was ammaaahzaang! Our server Sami in the bar booths did a good job, and the Squash soup was warm and yummy. The Jumbo Shrimp Cavatappi pasta was perfect, definitely a winner and a future repeat! When we returned again in February & April 2014, we had the most wonderful experiences. Server Kyle is one of the best top notch waiters we have ever had, and we have been fortunate enough to have him twice now! He is so personable, and just a super cool dude. We once again repeated getting the Lobster and Mozzarella Flatbread, which was again incredibly pleasing to our palettes. Then we tried the Beef and Black Bean Chilli, and Asparagus soups, the former being the clear winner by far... the Asparagus soup was cream based with its sole ingredient being mashed up asparagus.... and while I DO love asparagus, this just tasted like hot baby food... while the chilli was a sleu of different treasures with quick a kick! Delicious and a little bit spicy! The BBQ Turkey skewer meal is so perfectly delicious, my husband gets it every time we go! Luckily it was on the Winter menu and made the transition to the Spring 2014 menu. Unfortunately my favorite glazed pear, spinach and goat cheese salad did not make the transition, it was so delicious, I am quite nostalgic for it... especially when I added chicken. This time around (Spring 2014) I got the Honey Chicken with Spring veggies, and Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes, which was pretty good, the potatoes being my favorite, they were delectable! We ended our culinary experiences with the cutest, most perfect desserts, as you can see in my photos, I had the Carrot Cake and the Chocolate cake with Chocolate mouse on top, oohhh my... very rich, and the perfect ending to a perfect meal! WE LOVE SEASONS 52!!!! :)

I can’t remember when I’ve written a review, because it has been so long ago. I made a reservation at Seasons 52 for my family at 5pm. I made the reservation through Opentable and I requested a round corner booth. We arrived early to our reservation and as we were being seated it was apparent that they didn’t look at my request. I politely reminded the hostess of the request and at the time the restaurant was not busy at all and they had at least three round booths available. The hostess told me in a very rude and arrogant manor that the round booths are only for parties of 6 people. She then sat us at a table next to the kitchen with the most past by traffic in the restaurant. As dinner proceeded I watch her seat the three visible round booths with parties of four or less. The dinner was somewhat of a special occasion with my daughter just graduating from College and moving away that next week to begin her new life, so I didn’t want to make a big deal out of the situation. While the waiter and food was good the situation and the way that the hostess choose to handle it was very poor to say the least. I did a quick calculation to determine how much I spend at Seasons 52. I own a Company that is headquartered near by and I usually send my employees there for business lunch and dinners weekly. Additionally, me and my family typically go there once a month and typically spend $300 to $400 per visit, similar to tonight with my bill being $360, personally spending $3,000 to $4,000 per year. I then get expenses from my employees and I estimated that I spend another $7,000 to $8,000 per year with my employees. So, in total I spend about $10,000 plus per year. It’s amazing how service can make such a huge negative impact and loss of revenue. We are done going there and I’m done sending my employees there. Additionally, I think twice before using Opentable again.

My father and I could not have been more impressed with the atmosphere and interior design recently enjoyed at Seasons 52 located just West of Navy Pier. But was most important was not as satisfying. I had the garlic seasoned shrimp which were served with a whole lightly seasoned green beans and a anonymous side dish. While a bit on the bland side to start things off, all the shrimp needed was a little pepper. We had trouble picking entrees because the menu was huge and is a little unorganized / uncategorized clearly. The entrees taste no different from another restaurant to be quite honest. For it to be so expensive, a small serving size, and also a chain restaurant, the restaurant should work at exclusive food recipes as hard as they work on interior and plate decoration. Makes since? The garlic seasoned shrimp was perfectly steamed but was bland and a little to salty. It was served with delicious steamed whole string beans and a side dish in which I had never had before. The anonymous side dish had a small spicy after taste which I loved & absolutely hate that I missed the name. My father loved his honey baked chicken but felt it taste as usual as another restaurant in the Downtown loop area. The steamed vegetables went so well with the chicken that he actually ran out quite quickly; a little to quickly. Our server, Eric, was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. After we ate, my father had a slice (small cup, creative) of Key Lime pie and Rocky Road. The night ceased to be a great meal but too expensive for the serving portions & the unoriginal taste.

2017 update: weve been coming here regularly for three years and have never been disappointed. Its amazing how they manage to continue inspiring the entire crew (all the way to the chefs) to deliver a superb customer experience. Highly recommended. We were taken by surprise, spectacularly wowed by our experience at Seasons 52. Everything on the menu is under 475 calories without sacrificing the portion size. We were incredulous because everything tasted so good - even my picky eaters picked the roasted chicken clean and ate up all the vegetables and salad on their plates and gave thumbs up. The service was superb - and we were there during the Mothers Day lunch rush. The best deal is probably Flights and flatbreads: for $15 or so you get a flight of 3 reds or whites and a flatbread. Different from any other wine flights weve had before: you get a full glass of whichever wine you decide on. My husband looked at the flatbread and again, asked incredulously, "This too is under 475 calories?" I was the most excited about how they do desserts: our server presented us with a tray of shot glasses filled with gorgeously decorated delicious-looking desserts, an ingenuous way to keep the calorie count low. Its good therere four of us so choosing which ones NOT to get was not as painful a process. We ended up with key lime pie, pecan pie, carrot cake and mocha macchiato and liked all of them. The family verdict? This is our new favorite. Our only regret was that we did not learn about this restaurant sooner.

Ive visited a few times and noticed a pattern hence my review. Service: Plan to stay a few hours because everything from ordering a drink, to appetizers and dinner can take about 3 hours! We had a res at 6:30 and arrived early, we checked out at 9:30! Our server was great and deserved a large tip, but the staff failed to ask/offer specials and a prix fixed menu that we only learned about online prior to visiting; he especially pointed out the neglect of his staff! Food: nothing special or worthy to write about. The flatbread was chewy, tuna tartare was decent but lacking flavor, the filet mignon was tiny, probably less than 3 oz! The cedar plank salmon was cooked nicely, and the veggies were totally overdone. There werent many dessert options but our waiter provided some fruits and a glass of champagne to toast our anniversary. Our total bill was more than we anticipated, ($190!) for two and we each only had one drink. I dont plan on revisiting with these prices, its outrageous. Our waiter belongs in a more upscale restaurant, his service was outstanding!
