Great place for dinner with a date or a small group of friends. they offer a buffet that has a large amount of things to choose from. Others at the table said that they did not find anything on there that they did not like. For me in particular they have a good amount of vegan options and some that can be veganized from the way that they would normally be served. The atmosphere is kinda dark and could be considered romantic if you are looking for that. Either way the owner roams and makes sure that everything is to your liking during the meal and was quite friendly and open to questions that anyone asked of him. If you like indian or want to try a new place you will not be disappointed.

Useless!!! Veg Pakoda was not cooked properly when we told they didnt apologize but, the owner was giving feedback to his cooks and servers (so that means he agreed its not good). Naan (bread) didnt have butter - only the top one will buttered so dont be fooled. Palak Panneer is another fake item you will see tons of panner on top (explicitly visible) but, once you take it on the plate you will not find even a single panneer.. Finally the price you pay for all the above is unbelievable - yes, its very expensive and not worthy at all. When we walked in, we were wondering why the place is empty; when we came out we were able to connect the dots. Dont go to this place...

Im just not a fan. I tried it a while back and didnt have a good experience. But after seeing how highly rated it was on various sites, I assumed that my experience was not typical and gave it another shot. The food tastes fine enough, but I constantly find little pieces of bone, cartilage, and other inedible bits in the dishes Ive ordered. Maybe this is common traditional Indian cuisine and Im just too Westernized to appreciate it, but its not something that appeals to me at all. Ill stick with the boneless Indian food, thank you.

Its actually been a while, and I miss it, BUT its the only one I know in the metro area with a DINNER BUFFET, so, worth considering, especially if like me and some other fans here, you dont have the authentic background. I go back when Im going to an event nearby, like a movie across the street. True, my friend Mahesh and his Indian buddy preferred Tiffin and Indian Garden on West Devon (not in Streeterville!), and Im well impressed there, but thats an hour away.

I am really surprised by the bad reviews. Ive been frequenting this restaurant for years, as I was hooked after my first visit. Ive introduced many to this location, whom also enjoyed it. I love the food, especially the buffet where Iam able to try different items; its flavorful, and quite delicious. In addition the staff is very friendly. I also like the decor and location. I find that many will always find something to dislike.

Used to love this place - it was the first restaurant i ever ate at on my first visit to Chicago. In recent years however, their portion size has shrunk considerably to the point its not worth looking at the menu...and the buffet options have been bland and mostly sauce the past few times Ive been. The staff is friendly and accommodating, I just wish the quality of food would improve.

I had tried lamb Jhalfrezi from this restaurant & it was not good at all. All of the veggies were raw. Dish was not cooked properly. Also, surprise to see Jhalfrezi is having cauliflower, peas, carrots & potatoes! Normally Jhalfrezi should have onions & bell peppers only beside lamb & other spices. Dont recommend this restaurant!

I went here for the dinner buffet, and have been eating indian food for a number of years. The buffet had a great selection of oil. I would estimate 25% of each dish was oil, with little flavor in it. And the waiter stared at me the entire time. The lassi was good, though.

I always take my friends here. Ive been doing so for about 3 years, and the food and service is always consistently good. The best Indian place Ive been to thus far. I suggest getting the buffet, esoecially if its your first time there ir are unfamiliar with Indian food.

Bland! Kept having high hopes for this restaurant. We love Indian food and are usually satisfied easily, but it was SO disappointing. Every dish was surprisingly bland. I wonder if they ran out of spices in the kitchen (and compensated with oil)..... too bad. :(

Worst Indian food ever. Buffet or à la carte this place completely misses what authentic Indian food is supposed to taste like. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to Jerusalem Cafe (or really any other restaurant on Lake St).

One of the worst Indian restaurants in the city. I live close by and I love Indian food but I rather settle for the pizza next door than venture into this place. Reasons: Food is not good, hygiene issues and terrible service.

I have visited India 4 different times, and Khyber Pass has the most authentic Indian food I have in the IL. The chicken tikka masala, the bread basket for 4, the buffet, the gulab jamun....all lovely, and wonderful!!

I had the lunch buffet here on a Saturday and it was quite unremarkable, ... as was the service. I did enjoy the location and the decor... but I probably would not return with so many other really good opions around.

I dont know Indian cuisine well but Khyber Pass makes it easy for me to change that! The atmosphere and the food are great and I think thats why this restaurant is a long time favorite in the area.

Been going here for years. Good buffet, but order off the menu for some top notch dishes. The bread selection is rather expansive too. Nice for take out as well.

Excited that they offer a dinner buffet, as many others only offer a buffet at lunch. Lots of options and all very delicious. Good, friendly, helpful service.

The all you can eat buffet is vegan friendly. The food is very unique and they have many vegetarian options. The lentil soup is very good.

Tasty. Had the buffet. Only complaint is that the food was not warm enough. But all was fresh and delicious.
