There are so many words that can sum up my trip tonight but the only thing I can say is: amazing. I had never been to Kappys before but always knew of it as a family style restaurant but it is so much more. They recently renovated the place and have a new "American Grill" theme. The moment I opened the menu and saw the Brown Sugar Pork Chops I knew I had to try them. The moment they hit my mouth it was like falling in love for the first time again. The pork was cooked just right. The glaze on the pork chops was incredible. Sweet, without being over powering, and just the right consistency. The oven roasted potatoes were both filling and flavorful. Spiced just right and served nice and hot. The only thing better than the food would be the excitement and truthful caring nature of the owner George. He is an awesome person who visited our table a few times to check in on us which is above and beyond what Im used to. Felt like we were like family and its a great way to set yourself apart. We will be returning for the amazing food and even better service.

Good food but needs a remodeling. The waitresses are old and set in their ways. They make you feel they are doing you a favor waiting on you. Would not go back. We decided to try it again on 11/23/2013 and found the remodeled place was nice and clean. Modern theme and nice traffic flow. That is where it ends. The waitress first leaned over my new fur collar coat with her food encrusted tie and pretended like we were long lost friends. The dinner rolls were hard. The soup was ok but the matzo ball was burning like it just was in the microwave. The cole slaw was peppery. I had a turkey club and it was ok but pricy at $12.The french fries were cold. The waitress never asked if i wanted a refill on my $2.50 pepsi so I waited 15 minutes and asked the busboy for a refill. Would not reccomend this place.

I recently moved into the area. My wife and I decided to have breakfast here.(Nove 27) Place needs an update, and the waiters are 60 or older. I ordered an omelet bacon/sausage. After leaving and getting home I started feeling weird. Headache, nausea, wanting to vomit. I ended up vomiting all nite!!! and i got a high fever. FOOD POISONING. I didnt go to work the next day. Lost a day of work!!! I called to inform them of what happened and the lady took my # down and said the manager would call me back because it was a serious situation. I havent received a call or any type of message. Wheres the customer service!!!! Its Dec. 9 and nothing yet!!! Thanks KAPPYS for the FOOD POISONING and the CALL BACK!!!

Service was slow. S L O W. Water cups were dirty- not just the ones at our table but we could see the the dirtiness of the water cups on the table next to us. My food- the prime rib hash arrived to the table barely lukewarm and the portion size was extremely small. My partners food was not what he ordered, which was the chopped steak- as rare as possible. It came to the table like a hockey puck. He also ordered the loaded potatoes, which he did not receive and when the bill came, we were charged for it and the server did not even notice/care. What was good were those muffins they bring to the table. All together over $30 for a very lackluster breakfast. We will not be returning.

Kappys has outdone themselves again! They have just reprinted their menu with all kinds of new salads, sandwiches, entrees and desserts. The colors and vibrancy that are apparent in all aspects of the restaurant are second to none. The meal we had, starting with buffalo chicken wings, a house salad and sharing a Greek Chicken and full slab of St. Louis style BBQ Ribs were topped off by a generous slice of Red Velvet cake. Service was great and attentive from the hosts to the waitress! Keep it up guys!!!

We came from MN. Staff were very kind. My daughter spilt my glass of water on table/floor and they genuinely took care of it w.out making anything out of it. THANK YOU! My daughter and her dad each got burgers which looked fabulous. I had the eggs Benedict that tasted as if the Hollandaise sauce was old and tangy! I ate about less than half of my meal (sad, because eggs Benedict is my fav). But overall, great place and people.

Great food, wonderful atmosphere. We have been coming here for almost 30 years. Do yourself a favor and try out their signature specials. Im a breakfast person and have always enjoyed their various Eggs Benedict dishes, especially the lox one. George, who owns the place is a true classic American restaurantuer, who has an impeccable memory and treats you like a King or Queen.

The food portions are huge and the cost wasnt that bad. The food also tasted good. I had the Kappys Benedict which the waiter suggested to get the extras on the potatoe hash..was so tasty.. And my friend had Kappys fruit Crepes (loaded with fruit. They do not skimp) YUM!! Very friendly and timely service despite Sunday crowds. Well worth the visit.

Horrible service. You call for a pick up order to be put on hold by two separate people then no one answers. I actually drove there sat for another ten minuts while some jerk just stood there making jokes. Food is good if they ever actually take your order! FYI this was 2 in the afternoon. Early morning and weekend staff is way better

My wife and I had been running around all day and just wanted to stop somewhere to get a quick bite to eat. Wow, what a surprise we had. The food was so good and would satisfy even a discriminating gourmet. And the service will guarantee youll be back and too recommend Kappys American Grill. I already have and will continue too!

When I walked in the owner greeted with happiness. The waitress was very friendly. And he knew if my drink was going low or if we were ready to leave. The amount of food they gave us was a lot so we had to take it home. This restaurant was very friendly and as family restaurant I will be coming back for lunch or dinner.

Kappys is a nice place. A very extensive modern American menu that reaches a little bit into other cultural styles. Its a breakfast diner and a sit down all in one with a cozy atmosphere and nice decor. Solid portions and flavorful meals. Definitely worth visiting.
