I remember when I was still in middle school and Corner Grill had first opened, the owner came to our school and did a demonstration in the cafeteria and made one of his dishes, and of course, we were allowed to try it. It was one of the best dishes Ive had from a place that is a semi-fast food joint. That was almost ten years ago. They started out as a small business and I honestly thought they would go under like the last place to inhabit that corner did. But they really turned the place around and made it a success. When I went off to college, I was really surprised to hear that they bought the place next door. When I came back, it was really fun to see them transform the place. I love that they were able to expand and honestly, it wouldntve happened if they didnt have fantastic food. Every time Ive been there, Ive gotten food that rivals even Portillos and the portions are MUCH bigger. When you go there, you get what you pay for. The service is always fantastic, the servers are polite and fun to be around. When you get it delivered, its quick and the driver is always friendly. I could easily say that Corner Grill is probably one of the finest achievements Genoa has and I really hope that someday, theyre able to franchise it. I would love to be able to go to a Corner Grill for lunch while working in DeKalb, or stop at Corner Grill for dinner while grocery shopping out in Belvidere. Its such a great little restaurant that has achieved so much and has so much potential to continue to do great things. Heres to hoping this little place is around for another ten years.

We eat here periodically and enjoy it. The prices may seem a little high but the portions are usually tremendous. I havent had anything I didnt like here. Occasionally there is a Zeus Burger special on weekends, which is a huge burger with saganaki and tzatziki sauce with a heap of fries. I like the burger as is with the saganaki and use the sauce instead for my fries, but thats just me. I wish it was on their regular menu, because two people could happily split it and its delicious, possibly my favorite thing there. Its always pretty busy when we stop in, even at odd hours. If youre in the mood for a BLT, they make a monster one. The only time that I was ever "disappointed," was when I got the Prime Rib "Sandwich" Special, which was essentially a giant piece of prime rib, bone in, on some decently tasty bread. Also a heap of fries. The only problem was that we had taken it to go and eat picnic style, and frankly, it was a sandwich in name only. Its hard to be mad at a beautiful piece of prime rib, but no one orders a steak sandwich and expects to be handed a full T-Bone on a half loaf of french bread. Needless to say we made due, and really, it was cheap for what we got, I just should have looked first and decided to dine in. The takeaway is they dont skimp on portions here and sometimes ordering less is more here, especially if its just for two, maybe dine in rather than carry out if youre on the fence about it.

Im sorry but I have to write this because after looking on google to get their address for a friend I read a review on here by Jodell, who obviously has no idea what she is talking about. If you wanted to go to a bakery you should have gone to a bakery. For you to give reviews that slam an entire restaurant and all of their products when they actually do make everything fresh in house and happen to outsource the cakes. This restaurant does have excellent food and service and does not specialize in cakes however there are many people that like desserts after dinner. This place is great and please dont listen to that persons crappy review. We have family that drives out to visit us in hampshire and they specifically come out here to visit as an excuse to eat there. We have watched this place go from just the owner and his brother working there to probably 20 or 30 people running around back there when they are busy. Dont listen to her and pass this place up it is definitely a little gem.

I went in yesterday, Thursday for lunch. Ive been here before without an issue so I dont know if this was just an off day. I ordered 2 kids meals, the fish and chicken tenders. Both orders were incredibly greasy, especially the fries and the coating on the fish. On the fish meal, the lemon wedge and tartar sauce were missing. The chicken tenders from the other meal were overcooked and very dry. I did ask for unsalted fries, which was done but they were very greasy. The food made me and my 2 yr old sick. Like Ive said, Ive had the pizza from there and everything was fine. My husband really liked it. But this time around....was a completely different story.

You honestly cant beat the bang for the buck. I always get a burger - its 10 oz for like $6. You do have to purchase fries ala carte, but thats fine because you get a giant portion of that too. Also, on occasion, I get the meal faster than I would at a fast food joint. The service and class of this place isnt to be missed. That quality it high class too. Ive had smaller, more expensive burgers that didnt have the quality of these. Cheese is good, and the buns add a nice texture and flavor. I eat their once, maybe twice a year and have never once been disappointed. Its nice to see a place like this thriving.

Was looking forward to a delectable treat but Genoa bakeries close early. By default ended up at the Corner Grill. Ugggghhhh Im guessing the reason the Atomic Cake is so named is because its a gut bomb. Dry, tasteless and obviously manufactured somewhere else. The paste that was defined as cheese cake layer was blah. Choked down half of it hoping it would get better. Wish Id given up sooner, like the moment Id opened the styrofoam box. Really, styrofoam???? Cant believe the other ratings. Peoples taste buds must be dead.

The Corner Grill is a tremendous place to eat or order delivery. They are always coming up with new and tasty food creations that make you keep wanting to come back for more. Couple this with their always great menu options and their pizza, you will need to go on a diet! We recommend asking what their specials are on any given night. These include fries making them a more cost efficient option. If you are going the pizza route, you really cannot go wrong, but we recommend the stuffed pizza.

These guys have the "corner" on great food and on great prices! I will be a customer for life! They are extremely friendly, their food portions are enormous and their menu is full of anything from appetizers to shrimp & rib platters! They also offer catering so you can sit back and relax at your next party! Words can not even express how great their food and service is --it is second to none! Keep up the awesome work guys...I look forward to many years to come!
