i would have given a zero rating if that was an option. I went there on a friends recommendation and after a wonderful holiday in Chicago, all I wanted was to have a good appetizing Indian meal. Right from the time we entered, everything was nothing but disgusting. I wanted to walk out, from the moment I walked in. Not a single smile on any waiters face and they looked frustrated and half interested while talking the order, the glasses had hand prints on them, there was stuff floating in the water jug. I had to go across to another table to find a not so dirty glass. we orderd a chicken biryani and a vegetarian biryani. the veg biryani was not even mentioned in the menu and I am not surprised why . It was the worst I have ever had, and as an amateur cook, I can make something 100 times better. there were tamarind seeds in both the biryanis that can easily make anyone choke. the chicken pieces were big and tasted somewhat like mutton. the paneer gravy was nothing but rubber and some grease. midway through the meal, I had to excuse myself to the restroom to puke out the junk i had poisoned myself with. in the end, it just spoiled my day, and we walked out with nothing but disgust.

Dear Manager, Your restaurant is a known name in Chicago especially among the South Asian community, but I am afraid it will lose its reputation soon and has already lost to its competitors in service. I am sorry to say the service in your restaurant is pathetic. All of your waiters are unprofessional. Please give them some training in etiquette and how to serve food. This is not expected in a place which calls itself "fine dining" restaurant. Just take a look at other famous restaurants in Devon and look at their service , it is very professional. The ambiance in your restaurant looks like that of a marketplace with your unprofessional waiters shouting at each other. I am just writing this as a well wisher who is concerned about one of my favorite restaurants which once had a very good service. This is not my view alone ask any of your old patrons about it yo will get your feedback. The one star I gave is for the food. Bad service leaves a bitter taste in the mouth therefore the taste of the food also looks bad. Please do something before its too late.

the food was ok by its worth BUT the thing is the service is the worst ! the person who serves the food bangs the food as if he is doing a favour or obligation or atmost times as if he is giving the food as free.... he doesnot have any sense of hospitality or gratefulness , nor freshness or thankfulness for the business we give to him. i dont if he was the owner but for sure that the owner who hired the manager over there is a fool, bcoz he is giving money to that manager and he is loosing business n getting such bad reviews as this one...absolutely.... i m NEVER GONNA GO THERE !! even if he gives me cheaper rate or any deal...i bet for $100 if he smiled with me atleast once...hah...even i work at a convinent store and days inn n so we know how to value the customer...hell with his business if he doesnot value any customer...if u want yr money to be wort and yrself to be valued then try usmania with the parking lot and the big banner and NOT THIS ON THE OTHER SIDE WITH SAME NAME...I HOPE THAT this message is read by that manager to whom this concerns....

So yea theres some ignorant servers there...but honestly I wouldnt base my opinion on 1 or 2 servers.. overall Ive gone there many times and everytime the servers are always very respectable and very kind, u have to give respect to get it.. whether u talk in urdu/hindi or in english they are really cool guys and they like seeing different ethnic backgrounds too, food is amazing biryani is off the chain..for sitdown on devon, I wouldnt go anywhere else, unless u go for bbq..then id go to khan bbq.. value wise its good as the rest of the places there, its no houston..the uncles there that run the place theyre just old school people I dnt really think they mean any disrespect, this aint no pfchangs or cheese cake factory, and its not suppose to be..its indian pakistani good good food!

This is definitely not even passing to Usmania in Gujranwala Pakistan which I visited last year. Here Food was smelly, plates were dirty water was with some sort of contamination in it. I took my wife with me and was really embarrassed because the food in Usmania, Pakistan was great but here it was peace of trash. I was really shocked to see the poor hygienic conditions of eating area. Service was poor, lazy and it seems they were tired and there faces were with out any sort of impressions. Food was expensive and honestly I was really upset after wasting my $60. Same night my wife complained about stomach upset, and I knew before it was going to happen. I believe the hygienic conditions in "McDonald" are 200% better than Usmani “Fine” Dinning.

AssalamoAlaikum, My honest opinion is that restaurant is nicely decorated and plates are clean however they are surely way over charging with less quality and options. At the end of this street in another restaurant wei spent almost 30% of what we spent in Usmania and quality and service both were excellent. We see only beef and chicken and the buffet price they are charging are comparable to very high quality buffets who has mutton and other dishes. Cooked food is not so bad and its ok i guess to be honest but lack variety and way over priced. I would say much better options available in devon. I think add more variety specially mutton and reducing price will make this more comparable with other places we eat normally.

If you feel uncomfortable in a strage place with strange food you can always order for pickup. If you like spicy food you got to try Nahari. I think they call it a soup, but anyways. The meat melts in your mouth and it reminds me of something my mama ussed to make. Its served in a soup of sorts, but be careful, the bottom layer of the liquid is the spicy stuff. Just call them up and order Nahari and 3 Naan. Naan is the bread u tear and use to scoop up the meat with the sause (if you dont want to spicy dont dip too deep!). I dont know how the cook this stuf but you dont even need a fork, like the natives.

Stay away from this phony Indo-Chinese...My family and I visited this restaurant on Dec. 27 11. We went in because of Karachi Usmanias reputation, but came out totally DISAPPOINTED We ordered Chicken Corn Soup, Hakka Chow Mien and Chop Suey. The soup had very odd tasting chicken, while other dishes had lots of oil and no taste. The food was so horrible that we ate very little and didnt box the leftover. To add insult to injury, when we came out, we found someone smashed our cars window that was parked in front of Hyderabad Restaurant and stole my laptop bag. Overall extremely bad experience.
