2.0 star rating 2/1/16 I attended a "paint night" several days ago, and my server Max was somewhat rude to me. Im a woman, and the language and tone he used felt unnecessarily antagonistic and hostile to me. When he first approached me, he asked for my ID and credit card. Ive been to numerous "paint nights," restaurants, and bars, and Ive never had to provide a credit card prior to placing an order. The standard procedure in such situations is generally for the server to wait until my drink has been provided, and then ask whether Id like to start a tab (which, in this case, I did not). When he brought my drink, he said, "Ill be right back for your card," in a tone which suggested that he thought I was going to walk out on a $12 drink. I asked him not to speak to me that way, and asked for Mark the manager. When the manager arrived, he seemed more eager to talk than to actually listen to my complaint. He comped my drink, which I appreciated; however, I felt offended, and believe an apology would have been more appropriate than a free drink. The most unfortunately element of this situation is that this was my great-aunts first "paint night," and she also felt slighted by Maxs demeanor.

The price/proportion ratio was ridiculous. Went here on Saturday and paid either $8 or $9 for a plate of hummus and baba ganoush with pita chips. What we got was a few pita chips and an ungodly amount of icky tasting hummus and some plain jane baba ganoush. It was so disappointing watching them deliver the plate to us and even more disappointing eating it. In fact, later on in the evening, we went to my aunt and uncles house where they served us hummus from Trader Joes- we both commented that this hummus that probably costed $3 for a tub tasted so much better than what we paid almost $10 for. Anyway, because we stuck to bottled and draft drinks, it wasnt out of the realm of city prices. I paid $5 for a Woodchuck and my friend paid $6 for a beer. Nothing too crazy there, but I can see how the mixed drink menu can get expensive fast. Based on the food experience I had, though, I wont be back, even to have just a drink. Pretty disappointing.

I had lunch here today with my amazing co-workers & it was amazing! For appetizers we had crispy duck spring rolls with a sweet & sour mango chutney sauce and a squash and zucchini carpaccio drizzled with truffle oil, Italian seasoning and shaved parmesan (its going to be a new item on their upcoming summer menu, itll have the option of choosing between adding shrimp or salmon!). Both were so delicious! For my entree I had the steak sandwich with hand cut, perfectly seasoned fries that were sprinkled with parsley. The sandwich was so good: the bread was nice & soft, steak was tender & flavorful - I was pleased eating it! My co-worker spoke highly about this place & I can see why for I was very impressed. Ill totally return, especially for their cool happy hour - I heard good things about it & cant wait to check it out!

Im a little surprised at how long its taken me to try out Ovie Bar with how close it is to my work. Location wise its great, drink selection wise I had no complaints (though an additional type of cider or two would have probably bumped things up.) Waitress wise, also great. My complaint? The food. We ordered appetizers (3 plates) to share between a few of us and while the chips and dip were fair, the sliders seemed small and over priced while the artichoke spinach spread, well, lets just say Ive had much better at fast casual restaurants. Im sure it didnt help that the "baguettes" were not crispy (though they look as if they had been at one time.) Now I probably would come back for drinks or a happy hour but to spend time after work it wouldnt be my first pick by a long shot.

While the staff and restaurant ambiance and seating were good- the steak sandwich I got today was inedible.. Tasted rancid - and this is a first for me, at a restaurant of this stature. I just bit around the sandwich to avoid it and gave up. I thought they would ask me if something was wrong, but they were just too busy. I let it go to avoid an awkward conversation when out with office friends. Wonder if anyone else had the same experience there today.

Located in the Metra station on Randolph and Canal, this restaurant seems ambitious for this location. While the food was good, I thought it over priced and underwhelming.Menu is American fare, nothing spectacular or anything that I will remember two weeks after eating there. I seem to always get seated at one of the tables with the bar stool type seats. I never liked that, and they never accommodate with a table lower to the floor.

I had the Sorrentina and it was excellent. You can taste the freshness in the quality of the food in every dish. From the appetizer, to the main course following with dessert every dish was tasteful. The waiter and David, the owner, were very inviting and insightful. Best customer service I have ever experienced. I highly recommend this restaurant! Thank you again for the warm welcome to San Francisco!!

This is a great place for happy hour and for private events. Ive both attended and hosted private events here, and they are fabulous. You cant beat the location if you need to do a corporate happy hour or dinner here - its so convenient to hop on the train afterward! They have great happy hour drink specials as well.

Stopped into Ovie by accident waiting for my train, the staff there was super friendly.. especially the bartender, Lauren, she pours a mean glass of red! Food is awesome, loved the anti pasto.. I will definitely be returning to see Lauren, she is the gem of Ovie!

Much better place to grab a beer waiting for a train than that cash only place in the front of OTC. Lots of people dont know that you can go down from the middle of the tracks and there is a row of stores. I really enjoyed the food and the beer menu was good too

I love this place! Every business lunch I have I ask my guest to meet me here. Their food (especially the Veggie Burger) is so good and their prices are extremely reasonable. The service is superb every time I visit. Highly recommended.

Had a group of 20 in for Happy hour and we had an amazing time. The server (Xavier) made us feel like we were the only table in the place and they were packed. Loved the Zombie Dust on draft! Happy hour specials are awesome.

Great micro brews and very attentive service. An undiscovered gem below the Ogilvie train station! The food is unique & delicious. It was easy to get in on a Saturday night-not many people seem to know about it...yet!

Food is Not as good quality as in Burbank or studio city. Servers are nice and friendly. Long wait for drop in, so try the Open table app and come on at your reservation check in for immediate seating.

The setting is great for dates or a drink with friends. I tried the canal nachos and the calamari, and it was fantastic. The service was good, and the drinks are great.
